> > > !!!FOR SHANNAN!!! < < < 1. Teeeechnically you are likely correct in assuming the Wraith Hive ship would have been blown up recently Froots ....I don't think the episode will go this route ....But realistically speaking if that ship would've been blown up 10000 years ago it's remains would've scattered more / would've fallen into the planets atmosphere cause of gravity or drifted out into space a long time ago .....But... I doubt we're going for that much realism here and the wreckage has been perfectly preserved in orbit around this planet for thousands of years ....Not really possible ....OUR. satellites need course corrections every so often so they won't fall back to Earth... 10000 years??? C'mon son 2. Teyla and Ronon exit a building holding a couple of bags of seeds ....The town in the background looks oddly familiar ....Add an altar to burn someone alive and a couple of religious nuts and you end up with the town that Daniel and Vala went to in 9x02 .....Keep your eyes open Froots ...Can you spot the set popping up in certain episodes of both shows? They built this set so that they didn't have to rebuild a new one for every episode that required a "off world village" ...It was less expensive that way I suppose 3. Ok I feel like the techno babble behind this energy device doesn't make ANY. sense ...McKay and Zelenka are over the moon about this discovery ...But it doesn't seem safer than the way a ZPM works as they imply ....A ZPM draws it's power from somewhere else ....The Arcturus device draws it's power in the same way but from OUR. galaxy for lack of better wording (or.. Pegasus in this case) ....I feel like it would be a LOT. safer to draw it from somewhere else ....To me that's like ...Imagine if a ZPM was NOT. a power generating device but instead nothing more than a device that would allow you to breathe ...And so ZPM would draw oxygen from another room ...The Arcturus device would draw it out of OUR. room .....Would you not rather get it from somewhere else and ...I dunno... Continue to be able to breathe?? ......Now apply it to the actual use ....What if the galaxy NEEDS. this energy?? 4. All that said... I'm not a scientist ....But then again neither are any of the writers of this episode ....But I do feel that the science of this episode was just a bunch of sci-fi mumbo jumbo to raise the stakes... And that in our world ...Real world scientists would more than likely choose the safety of a ZPM over that of the Arcturus device 5. HA! Yeah Froots... Everytime you launch a game while Photoshop is open... You run the risk of blowing up 5/6th of the solar system ....And barbequeing a random scientist red shirt in the process ...You are the female version of Rodney McKay ...Potentially dooming us all 6. I meeeeeeeaaannn... McKay WAS. right ....Weir just told him he couldn't pursue this project any further but it's like he said ...There's no way the military would give up a project like this ....That planet has (or had by the end) some really powerful weapon on it ...The military loooooovvves weapons ....They wouldn't let some civilian dictate whether or not to halt the project and McKay saw that and wanted to perhaps get ahead of them and claim it as something that (and I'm theorizing here) could be used for defensive purposes only ...added later... Aaaand there we go.. Caldwell says he'll be informing the Pentagon of McKay's findings and they would no doubt back up his request to continue his research 7. And again McKay is right in his argument with Sheppard... I'm sure that the guy McKay mentioned was NOT. the ONLY. guy to die in developing the Manhattan project (the nuclear bomb) ....If they HAD. shut the project down after that his death would have been meaningless.... But we also might not have had some of the technology we have today .......Then again we might also not have had countries armed with nuclear bombs ....There's an argument to be made for both sides to be the right side here I suppose 8. Soooo... Basically what Zelenka is trying to say ...While this device is drawing power... That power CAN'T be contained and NEEDS. to be directed into the weapon so that the build-up of energy won't ...I dunno.. Blow up a solar system or worse .....THIS. is why a ZPM draws power from somewhere else instead of "our own galaxy" ...So that this build-up only takes place INSIDE. the pocket dimension that the ZPM creates and WON'T result in the explosion we saw in this episode .....That's about as much as I can dumb it down for you Froots 9. Yeeeeeeeaaaahh... After having his previous Jumper get taken down by a fucking cannonball of all things ....McKay just needed to be sure to tell Sheppard to NOT. fly in a straight line this time ...Fair 10. The scene of Teyla and Ronon returning looks kinda janky ...Not cause of them... But cause of McKay getting told off by Weir ....It does NOT. look like the audio of them arguing in her office matches what's shown on screen ...The actors were standing too still 11. I'm the opposite... I didn't really care for the Teyla and Ronon story ...I mean I guess we got to learn that not all Satedans are wiped out and so Ronon still has some people out there (at least 300) ...But other than that it felt very much like the unnecessary B-plot of the episode ..Like they needed to fill time ....Perhaps they SHOULD have made a separate episode out of it and instead tried to make it more clear as to what was going on with the McKay story ....Or maybe show a bit of backstory as to HOW. McKay grew up to be so arrogant .....Anyways... NOT. the best episode ....But the shot of the Daedalus blocking fire from the weapon so that the Jumper could escape through the gate was apparently so iconic to me that it served as my desktop wallpaper for a while ....Random facts with Tony ....Carry on

The Sci-Fi part was really great, but I could've done without the boring B plot.
