She went from making constant selfish acts since the beginning of her character's introduction last season to possibly one last selfless act by risking her own life to destroy the supergate and thus protecting our galaxy from an Ori invasion. What makes it even more sad is that it looked like a part of Vala actually wanted to stay with the team based on her upset reaction in the gate room where she felt they were "dying to get rid of her" now that the proper SG-1 is together. However, I do think the team actually grew to like her at this point. And despite everything Daniel said this episode, he clearly looked upset by the end of the episode when he thought Vala might be dead. (Which was after he knew the bracelet's effect had worn off so no one can say it was because he was concerned for himself and not her) As for the fate of Vala, it's obvious what the writers were trying to do here. They intentionally left it ambiguous just in case they ever decided to bring her character back again. So she's either in the Ori home galaxy or she died here. Overall, I enjoyed the ride with Vala's character.

And since he's probably considered to be a bit higher up the food chain when it comes to actor status he was allowed to get away with requesting for certain additions to his character? .....Just in case you don't realise why I'm saying he's a big higher up ...Beau Bridges is the older brother of Jeff Bridges ....You might know Jeff as Obadiah Stane (the bald bad guy from the first Iron Man movie) ...He comes from a family of well known actors actually ...His father is Lloyd Bridges ...Who you ofcourse know from your FAAAAVOOURITE comedy movie "Airplane" 7. Nerus to Landry: "Not your fight? You engineered the downfall of the Goa'uld" ...You: "He didn't but whatever" ....Ok Froots ....Chillax... Nerus didn't mean Landry specifically ...He meant "you" and in us... Earth ...Also... Mitchell IS. now "part of the band" 8. I love the scene of Vala telling Landry off for inviting Nerus ..Saying it was a mistake ...Only for her flip her scarf over her shoulder and ending with her casually marching into the open gate ...And no... That was NOT. the intro shot of SG-1 heading towards the SGC gate ...I guess that comes later 9. A bit of an odd scene ..NOT. that I hate it or anything ...But ....SG-1 transports down to the planet WITH. a nuke to have a talk with the Prior ....Now I mean ofcourse we can assume that the Prior won't listen to reason .....But... Like.... What IF. he COULD. have been convinced??? I don't think showing up with a nuke would send the right message ....But I guess by now we've learned The Ori won't negotiate and so this was just us telling them to fuck off 10. That said... Mitchell just explained to the Prior that if the nuke is tampered with it'll detonate ....Interesting threat... BUT.... We've seen The Ori do some pretty amazing stuff and we KNOW. they're ascended beings basically capable of anything they want .....Why would the Prior not be able to use his staff to disable the device?? Are they saying The Ori aren't ALL. powerful??? ...That they AREN'T gods?? ...The Priors might have to take some notes about the inconsistencies in their gods abilities ....That... Or... Mind your step.. PLOTHOLE! 11. Sooooooo... The Ori just showed they've got some INSANE. technology ...Keep in mind that we need a ZPM to put a shield around Atlantis... That's a city about twice the size of downtown Melbourne ......This Ori forcefield however is covering that ENTIRE. planet and their power source isn't even in our galaxy ...The whole thing is being transmitted through an open gate ......Again... We are hilariously outmatched (also... and I'm just theorizing here... I don't think it's a super advanced type of energy device that's powering this forcefield ...If I'd have to guess ...It's The Ori themselves who are powering it just by the power of thought ...but that's just ME. fansplaining) 12. You: "This wouldn't have happened with Jack in control... Just saying ..Just saying.. Am I wrong?? I don't think I'm wrong" Eeeeeeeehhhmmm... Awkward.. It was said O'neill was the one who wanted the nuke to be used on the planet ...Sooooo... Yes... You're wrong 13. And another show of superior tech... The Ori are apparently capable of making Supergates (still kind of a weird name.. but ok) ...Large enough to send ships through 14. Bit of a flimsy plot development... Vala was able to ring aboard the cloaked cargo ship that Garak said was monitoring SG-1's progress ....Vala found it by a "lucky guess"??? Sure... The transporter rings just lock onto the nearest rings even if the ship is invisible ...just when the plot needed you to ...Convenient 15. Also I feel like Vala's plan isn't THAT. high brow or anything ....Just interupt the dialing sequence of the supergate by flying a ship into the ring's formation thus making sure that one of the pieces can't connect ......I feel like this is the kinda idea that anyone with more than the I.Q. of a goldfish could come up with ...Yet Carter and them couldn't come with it until Vala was already on her way over ....Points to Vala for being smarter than Sam?? 16. But another thing ...We've seen the pieces of the supergate fly mercilessly through a Goa'uld mothership destroying it and just continuing on it's way .....Why would it not be able to yeet a cargo ship out of it's path? ....I guess the cargo ship was lined with a coat of plot armor 17. Vala saves the day.. Luckily for Daniel the effect of the bracelets wore off just in time (convenient) and like they said there might be a chance that Vala is making people's head spin in the Ori galaxy (I felt like this was said so they could potentially have the character come back perhaps) ....But... We finally had a win and managed to stop The Ori from invading our galaxy ....But are we just delaying the inevitable? Find out next time ...On Dragonball GT!!
