Daniel

Daniel brings up a great point to Vala. While it makes sense that people would worship the Ori due to their immense power and knowledge of the universe, and of course the promise of Ascension at the end of their life, what doesn't make sense however is why the Ori would care? At least with the Goa'uld, they were doing it for a reason: By having people worship them, they could have slaves work for them. Helping them do stuff like mining resources such as Naquadah. They could also create armies of Jaffa to help them conqueror different parts of the galaxy and fight over another Goa'uld's territory. But what do the Ori get out of all this? Just being bad for the sake of being bad? Seems pointless to be honest.

This is the first time we've seen Vala show any real emotions where she wasn't trying to troll or manipulate someone. She felt responsible for these people, experienced guilt and even began to cry. She showed genuine empathy for someone other than herself this episode. We are starting to see some character development with her.

> > > !!!FOR SHANNAN!!! < < < 1. Holy shit Froots... You ACTUALLY tried pronouncing the German dubbed title for Angel AND not only THAT... BUT you did a really good job at it too ....That's the first time I actually heard you pronounce something in German that DOES. make sense ...smirk... 2. So we learned that not ALL. of what Vala says is a lie... Turns out we found out some of her backstory was that she actually did used to be the host of a Goa'uld... One called Qetesh and that she was freed by the Tok'ra just like she claimed ......Only to then turn to a life of crime ofcourse ....But it does also explain why she's able to use the Goa'uld healing device later in the episode ...Much like Carter.. Once you've been a host.. You're able to use certain technology 3. Beeteedubs... And not that I'm complaining... Buuuuuttttt... We ended last episode with Teal'c leaving back to Chulak and Mitchell confidently saying "He'll be back" .....Sooooo...What??? Teal'c is just back now??? There wasn't really any need for that line at the end of that last episode then.... Right? 4. Leave it up to Vala to invent something to help "her people" dispute their disagreements and call it after herself ...In this case her last name Mal Doran ...Such an ego 5. And yeah I was wondering if you'd make the link between this and the episode where Teal'c was put on trial for his war crimes ....The episodes do seem to be somewhat similar 6. Daniel: "Just because The Ori know more than we do, doesn't make them gods" ...You: "Well if that was the case then every single one of you watching right now are gods.. Cause you know more than me" ....That's right Froots ....Now... KNEEEEELLL!!!! 7. Yeeeeahh.. The people of Qetesh's planet are idiots ...The Prior is literally saying "Believe in the power of The Ori.. Or be layed to dust" Meaning ...Worship OR die ....Do those words really sound like they'd come from merciful gods??? ....Sadly this is how The Ori operate ...They forcefully have hundreds of worlds submit themselves into worshipping them ...Apparently according to earlier in the episode Priors have been seen on as many as 43 worlds throughout the Milky Way galaxy already ...They're quickly and by force converting the people of this galaxy to follow the path of Origin and it seems there's little we can do to stop them ...This episode in a way showed us what's going on on a galactic scale 8. Yup.... That's how Covid started ...The Ori came to the Milky Way galaxy and tried to convert Earth into following the path of Origin ...And we resisted ....And yet somehow survived 9. In my own personal defense ...Aside from the fact I thought it WAS. mentioned in the episodes you watched at the time... Pretty much the first scene that Landry and Lam had together... The way they were speaking to eachother it was already clear to me they were related somehow ....I didn't need 5 episodes to figure that shit out ...But I guess we now saw the scene where Lam asked if Landry "called mom recently" 10. Good question... I don't see the point of that part of the episode either ....Why have Mitchell be infected but none of the other members of SG-1 ....And why even heal him at the end of the episode? ...I think it would've probably sent a message if Mitchell had died and would've stayed dead ...Cause aside from that ...There was no valid reason for him to get sick
