I absolutely LOVE this episode.

A woman that looks exactly like Elizabeth with old age prosthetics lies on a hospital bed . Shannon "My bet is that's Elizabeth. Kinda sounds like her." And don't give me any crap about spelling your name wrong. I'm using speech to text and it's not my fault that you spell your name unusually. But then I guess it's not your fault either- we'll blame your parents.

Not my favorite episode . It had a lot of potential and I felt like it squandered it. And once again the majority of my comments which bounce between spoilers and objectification would only land me in trouble with Tony so I will bite my tongue. And they called me untrainable ....

2023-09-17 16:50:16 So this is the Ancient that built the time machine puddle jumper we saw on SG-1? He's probably also the one that travelled to the future and observed the events of 8x13. Hence the "prophecy" in that episode. Actually, you made another prediction that was proven correct during this episode. In 8x13 of SG-1 when I was explaining the history of the Ancients and their experiments with time travel technology, you suggested that the Ancient that built the device might have kept it a secret from the other Ancients. And since we just saw that the Ancients were clearly against his time travel experiments, it makes sense that the puddle jumper in 8x13 was probably kept a secret from the others. Also, given that this Ancient has seen and been to the future, it might also explain his obsession with a certain blonde haired toddler.

FOR SHANNAN: 1. True... Reviving this "Ancient" could have had GHUGE side-effects ..As we know Atlantis left Earth millions of years ago and they left behind Ayiana (from the Frozen episode) ...She had the plague that the Ancients suffered and died from.. So essentially by that knowledge.. And knowing that we saw Aiyana in the very first scene of the pilot.. This "Ancient" woman could have that same disease or at the very least been in contact with Ancients who did have it ....Weir's decision to revive her was risky 2. Yup... Not sure who mentioned to you that Atlantis is the size of Manhattan (it sure as fuck wasn't me) but whoever did got their reference from this episode ....I think it was through a private message you said you got ...Then again ....It's not the only thing that you got told about that wasn't revealed until THIS. episode ...Like the ZPM's being able to power stuff for 10000 years ...THAT. one was on me ....But in my defense I'm CERTAIN. we used the Stargate mod BEFORE. you officially started Stargate and I didn't think you'd ever watch this show 3. See that's where you're wrong... You were complaining about the flashback taking too long... But this wasn't really a flashback... In fact this whole scene was re-shot and different ...But I suppose for a moment for the untrained eye it would look like we were about to have the 2nd clip show episode of the week 4. So I looked into it.. And I was correct ...Holly Dignard was only a stand-in aka body double for Torri Higginson (Weir) in necessary scenes... Most of the close up shots was actually Torri.. But I suppose you're right too in that in the very few scenes where we could ACTUALLY see both Old Weir and our Weir in the same shot visibly talking to each other as for example in a NOT over-the-shoulder shot.. They dubbed over Old Weir with Torri Higginson's voice ...I just never noticed that ...But obviously that would make sense unless you'd use green screens or other editing effects to have the actress show up in the same shot twice convincingly 5. I meeeeeaaan... Sure ..We have an heroic Rodney moment saving Weir by staying behind in the control room attempting to retract the roof hatch so Weir can get out... But he DIDN'T HAVE to die in that scene ..The Puddle Jumper bay is above the control room ...Dude could've gone up the stairs and joined Weir in the Puddle Jumper ....I suppose it was easier to write him out that way and have Weir be the only survivor (although they literally wrote Sheppard and Zelenka out too and so still made Weir the only survivor) ....Also you're right.. It was a bit out of character for Pilot Rodney to be that heroic ...He sure had some character development in these 15 episodes 6. HA! I just paused the shot of seeing the ZPM hub and what do you know ...The Ancient writing on the side actually DOES say "Stay clear" if you decipher the letters ....I guess the mod WAS. accurate 7. Ok so technically a ZPM doesn't last for 10000 years seeing as Janus programmed Weir's pod to wake her up every 3300 years so she can rotate through the ZPMs ....But still ....Having a shield up with a fully powered ZPM for 3300 years ...Not bad ....I suppose it COULD last 10000 years though if it was for the shield ..Perhaps even far longer 8. So now we have a list of 5 gate addresses with worlds containing ZPM's on it ....Let's go! ....Although technically we've got 4 gate addresses... McKay mentioned M7G-677 on the list... I looked it up and it's the world with the kids on it who all lived in some sort of dome that prevented technology from working... ..mumbles under breath.. and we for some reason can't be relocating those little shits to the mainland and yoinking their ZPM
