Some people were ailed by the lack of MiraVision support in CleanROM 2.0.X.X, and I've figured it was time to put some time into bringing this beloved feature back into the fold.

  • TL;DR: You can now fine-tune the screen saturation, brightness, and a few other key-settings via the Settings -> Display -> MiraVision menu.

Thank you so much! It's a very welcome addition to the CleanROM.

You're welcome! Remember: if there's something you guys want to see in CleanROM just comment! I'll do my best to oblige!

There is a problem with 2.0.6.0 cleanrom. At the end of the TWRP install there is a "ERROR" in red. it says E: unkown Command [J].

blackseraph

It's fine. The error can be ignored and stems from the fact that our TWRP build is Nougat-based.

Thanks for all your hard work, will it be possible to fix the powervr driver's so that Saturn games work?

blackseraph

Not unless someone from Imagination (the company that made PowerVR) or MTK gets in touch with me (which is unlikely to happen).

Great ROM, no issues so far and root works flawlessly. Great work and thank you!

Hey Blackie sorry to keep bothering you but I have two issues with my XD+ that you maybe able to help me with. 1. From time to time my XD+ will freeze when sleeping, this is random sometimes it happens after a prolonged sleep and sometimes right after I put it down, thankfully a soft reset fixes until next time. 2. Back button being pressed multiple times, I understand that this is an mechanical issue with the XD+ but I was wondering if you could code in the double tap feature to it like the home button, so when it detects multiple presses it treats them as one press.

blackseraph

That feature already targets both the back and home button. Feel free to use it to mitigate your hardware problem. As for the freezes, you should install some logging apps and let them run in the background to capture logcat and dmesg logs. That way you'll have a copy of device logs when it freezes next that you can forward to me for analysis.

I hope I can revisit / fix that issue for good soon. I'm still trying different approaches to mitigating this.

Do you think there is a way to configure GPD XD+ to handle PSP games such as Burnout Legends without buffer/stutter? That's the only issue I've been having is with playing PPSSPP emulated roms.

blackseraph

We can stretch certain boundaries using software trickery but keep in mind we're running on a low to mid-tier Mediatek SOC here. The chip is simply reaching it's limits there I fear.

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a GDP XD Plus to replace my aging Nvidia Shield Portable, I heard mention of your CleanRom in a vid but have no idea what it is. Do you have a link to a description of it?

blackseraph

The XD+ is a decent replacement and a de-facto spiritual successor to the NVidia Shield, however it's plagued by a variety of bugs (some software, some hardware) out of the box. CleanROM is essentially a drop-in replacement for the stock operating system the XD+ comes with that addresses and fixes all of those problems.

Hey, any chance of getting CleanROM to work on a PowKiddy X18? Or is your focus exclusively GPD devices?

You can see my works in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/twrp-root-custom-recovery-teclast-t8-t3892647. Thanks in advance!
