26th April - our first furniture restoration project (Patreon)

So at last here it is, the completed bench seat day bed.

We couldn’t be happier with it, and it is relief that it now feels far more solid and robust (and without we hope any more rot).

It was one of those jobs that took a LOT longer than we thought with every part throwing up unexpected complications (especially getting all the legs even which nearly finished us off and took 3 or 4 hours for what we thought was a simple task).

But we learnt a lot - not least the importance of good tools and the right tools. We now have most of them but there are a few wood cutting tools which we might invest in over time for future projects.

We are excited about the next stage of the upholstery for it….

Talking of which a huge thank you to the wonderful Stephanie Murray who sent us the incredible fabric you can see here.  We feels some stunning cushions coming along - it is absolutely beautiful!  Thank you so much Stephanie!
