Exciting signs of spring in the garden today. On the side of the house we have a gorgeous Plumbago or Leadwort Vine Blue Climbing Plant - apparently it originates in South Africa. It thrives on sunshine which on that side of the house is very plentiful.

On the third photo You can see how it looked last summer from the street with this early photo we too. On the fourth is a picture of the flower we found online - it's rather pretty isn't it!

Over the years though it has never been cut back and it got totally out of control and was like a dense jungle of old shoots most of which were dead.

So we took a leap of faith and had it all cut back - we were reassured it would grow back but we were a little nervous.

Thankfully the advice was right - and it will soon be blooming again and cascading over the fence like before!
