tough loss for hxh fans tonight

ODIS

Herc and Carv used the kid and made him a confidential informant in order to retrieve the money lost on the wire that they stuck in that tennis ball that got crushed by the truck.

Julius

Can we please just get the next 2 HXH episodes posted together on Wednesday/Thursday? They go together VERY well.

Isaac

That doesn't make much sense. Why would we want 46 delayed even more? You could just wait until Thursday to watch when 47 is out as well

HgPt

it was Saitama but ok I deleted it

I took the scene where McNulty looks through Beadie's house to be him contrasting her living situation with his own, considering they are both single parent cops. We already have seen what Jimmy's place looks like (mattress on floor etc), and we got to see how much richer of a life Beadie has constructed.

"The Wire is renowned for being the most realistic depiction of the struggle between law enforcement and urban crime" *Enter Ziggy with a diamond-wearing duck* In all seriousness, the threads are really starting to pull together on the season. The episode really showcases how savvy Frank is, though of course it comes too little too late with regards to them now having to dump. I'm always very impressed to see how brave Frank is when talking to Greek, knowing how dangerous of a man he is. I haven't a huge amount to say on Frank's character that hasn't already been said, I just really love how at this stage of the season we can really see the wheels turning in his head in every scene. Got to love the comedic timing that goes into the editing. First time I watched this I genuinely laughed out loud at the beginning when we cut to Jimmy having sex with the waitress. I don't think I've ever seen an actor play being drunk so well. The Wire is truly an example of how dark humour can be high-comedy. When people talk about 'dark humour' it can often mean low-brow, shock factor/edgelord comedy, but here the dark humour is the juxtaposition of the tragedy of life presented next to it's surreality. Jimmy drunk off his ass crashing a car repeatedly whilst singing Irish punk music, stumbling bloody into a diner then promptly fucking the waitress is both hilarious and cruel. Even the way Bunk et. al approach the issue of Jimmy, their partner, having a serious alcohol issue as just "Jimmy being Jimmy" is really illustrative of how the horrors of substance abuse is made distance by trivialising it through humour. Coming from an Irish background, that approach to an alcoholic by a local community really hits home. Thank god it's changing. Anyways, the main point behind all that is just to say that The Wire uses humour in a very respectful way to depict very serious, not funny at all subject matters. The ethos of "if you don't laugh, you'd cry" is made very apparent throughout the series. That is what life is at the end of the day, Pure Comedy as Father John Misty would put it. On a more lighthearted note, Jimmy walking through the doors to our gang and saying his catchphrase "What the fuck did I do?" is a really sweet moment. You really do care for these characters over a relatively short amount of episodes. Hats off to the writing. Last thing I'll say is that I don't think I've ever seen a show where the episodes feel so fast. Lost felt fast in that it always ended on a cliffhanger, and Attack On Titan felt fast in that it's quite a fast paced show and only 25 minutes to boot. But The Wire truly feels as though you're only watching something half its duration on every single episode. Quite a feat considering how slow paced the show is on paper. I think a big factor is just how many characters and sub-stories there are. Similar to Game Of Thrones when it was in its prime. Thankfully, The Wire does not in anyway whatsoever end up slapping it's audience in the face like GoT did. If you made it to the end of all this, here's your cookie 🍪

Highly unlikely that they'll go off their schedule. Bear Wire Hxh Cyberpunk Wire Hxh Is schedule.

Hard agree on the comedic timing of this show's editing, like when Kima and Daniels had to tell their respective partners about working a case over dinner cutting between them back and forth. Or when Jimmy faxed the case to Rawls, then cut to Rawls saying "oh Sargeaaant?". Thanks for the cookie 🙂

I like that! I read it as him realizing he didn’t wanna bring his drama into her already difficult life but I think this rings more true

space1999

Same! I feel like the comedy and vulnerability you guys described is an under discussed aspect of the show! Such great comedic editing Glad I’m not the only one who feels like episodes go by fast 😅🍪

Because of the many plot threads in the show at this point, I'm beginning to notice a lot more cuts between scenes, and the individual scenes are starting to feel a lot shorter. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just something I've noticed while re-watching it with them. That might also have something to do with why the episodes themselves seem to go by quickly.

Frank has anger issues. You can see where its heading with the last scene with the Greek...

JAJAJAJA Tranquilo!! Se retrasaron un poco, pero no pasa nada. Estoy demasiado expectante del capítulo del jueves

I’ve watched this show so many times I don’t need video to follow along 😅
