Does anyone have advice on how to do change the framerate/speed to make the watch-along work properly in the United States?

Aj

Yep, that at the end was Avon's doing. Totally callous and ruthless, all just to get rid of the officer. Frank Sobotka is also involved in dirty business, but he looks after his men, because no one else will. Interesting character, Frank.

Here's what I got from the comments from another wire video. All you have to do is go to inspect element, click console, and then copy paste this text into the box: document.querySelector('video').playbackRate = 0.9591. Make sure you do all of this on the vimeo site as well, rarely have to resync once all of this is done!

They're at 25fps, you're at 24fps. You need to get a video player that can play files at different frame rates, I use MPC-HC. If you've downloaded the show, play the episode at 25fps to match the reaction perfectly. If you're streaming the show, then you'll have to download the reaction and play that though the video player at 24fps to match the episode. Adjusting the playback speed will get you very close, but this gets it perfect.

I love that every time Omar appears you turn into crowd reaction shots from a Beatles concert.

I think that the people on the boat knew how to speak english and pretended that they didn't. That's why the guy said that even if they get translators, it wouldn't help. That's why Bunk and Lester were mocking them.

Random question but when are we getting that Q&A video :0

The cop was helping to sneak drugs into the prison and selling to the prisoners. By poisoning the drugs, Avon basically set it up that the other cops will investigate how they got into the prison, find out it was him and he will be arrested. He got the idea from Weebay when Bay told him that Tillman acts righteous but he stays slinging on the side too. It's unfortunate that the other prisoners had to pay for it too, but we already know that Avon doesn't care about a little collateral damage. The whole Sobotka family takes some getting used to but Frank is definitely the easier of the 3 to instantly like, but as you ladies go on I think it will be easier to understand all of them.

I don't know if you missed it but Nick's bad vibes: his gf and the mother of their daughter just implied she'd break up with him if he couldn't get his own place soon, meanwhile he's trying his best to get work, turning up every day and being sent him without any hours. It's understandable he'd be in a pretty bad mood.

I'm pretty tech-savvy, but I cannot find where to adjust the framerate in MPC-HC. Can you help me out? I really appreciate it.

I haven't been able to figure out why you guys think Omar is in New York. The very last scene of season one is his reappearance in Baltimore.

We really need to legalize sex work and give sex workers unions for real... The Wire is based af. People will ALWAYS be willing to work for sex so it literally makes no sense to not legalize it and protect workers I feel like this season will never not be relevant. Like being a sex worker anywhere in the world where it's illegal to be one is already a horrifying notion but being a sex worker in a country that outlaws sex work while being undocumented and trafficked is the worst kind of slavery. As of 2020 over 70% of sex "workers" in the US were estimated to be undocumented and I know it's even worse in places like The Philippines I know trafficking and pimping will always exist but I really hope the rest of the world can follow in the foot steps of Germany and prohibit pimping and regulate prostitution https://traffickinginstitute.org/u-s-immigration-policy-and-human-trafficking-two-sides-of-the-same-coin/#:~:text=The%20U.S.%20Department%20of%20State,the%20United%20States%20each%20year.&text=An Edit: While we're at it clean needles, hygiene products and contraceptives available free everywhere plz… and free healthcare and guaranteed pay Thx 🙏

For real… like he epitomizes all the workers and their struggles

That scene was actually still in New York- you can see signs that say South Bronx and one of the drug dealers had on a Yankees jersey. That was honestly pretty hard to catch from the first viewing.

I think the issue is- my assumption is the writers want you to feel sympathetic towards Nick, but the actor doesn't play it very sympathetically at all, he's pretty unlikeable LOL. I was surprised on rewatches how offputting Nick is in the first few episodes, given my memories were of liking the character.

MrRuss50

you can also see the empire state building in the background. and the drug dealers he's robbing are domincans or idk maybe puerto rican but in bmore they've only shown black or white dealers.
