The bounding box issue is finished now. It's not just technically solved, but thoroughly unraveled and can't hurt us anymore. Last week I'd finally pierced the core issue. This week, I got it working fully in game. 

Many commits, many compiles, many lines of code later, we got there! Between moving, getting set up (just now got an actual monitor), and various irl events happening, it feels like it took forever to make it through this problem. 

I'm incredibly satisfied that the choice to take my time and make a set of debugging tools actually paid off. They were the key to being able to iterate quickly enough to figure out all the coordinate math issues going on. This is core tech for the game so this'll be crucial for all future interaction-type features. Doing things right was a good choice! >.>;

Now, I'm currently finishing up the logic for multiple hitbox types. Is needed for tracking the types of motions meant to aim toys at orifices vs touching toys, the character, etc. 

Next week

Once done, it's time to test and try to iterate on the penetration controls! This'll be the fun stuff cause it's actual gameplay. Not only that but it'll finally, after all this time, allow me to improve the way you interact with penetration. It was always functional but extremely clumsy. Now I have the ability to prototype and get feedback from y'all. I am excite.

Wrapping up

This is a short post again cause I'm quite exhausted IRL. I'm currently thinking about how to better approach the format of streams, weekly posts, etc. Will let y'all know when and how I'm planning to switch that stuff up. For now, back to makin' progress.

Thank you all for following, and so SO much for supporting. Especially during this period of life changes for me (I moved away from Planet America to be with my partner). The fact that I get to make stuff I love while making a living constantly surprises me. I always feel the push to make good on the hype of this game/engine. 

Thankfully I feel very confident in it so far. It can handle the stuff I wanna put it through >:3

Despite everything, game development is pretty damn fun.
