Hey,

so here is the first Version of the Island Benchmark!

=> Island Benchmark Version 1.0 Download Link

To improve the performance it´s best to reduce the resolution and shadow quality!

  • Use right mouse button to rotate camera
  • WASD (or arrow keys) to move the camera
  • Middle Mouse Button to pan the camera
  •  Use the mouse-wheel to change the camera field of view (like in the gif above)
  • Press "h" to toggle the UI
  • Seamless switch between Cutscene-Cam and Free-Cam
  • There is an "Exit" Button :)

This is more demanding than the previous Benchmark. But if we can get stable 40FPS on an average PC, that´s already great. The HDR-Pipeline of Unity is not famous for it´s performance, but therefore you can throw a lot at it and the framerate won´t drop drastically. Like we have 7 Characters in the scene and there is almost no difference if 3 or 7. Also more lights will be interesting to have, especially in the Night-Time version (once I manage to do it)

Alright, please have a look and let me know how it goes!

Thanks a lot and have a great weekend!

Mega keeps crashing at 1Go downloaded :( Would it be possible to split it?

Not surprisingly, I only get 10FPS on my MX250 and only go up to 24FPS at lowest resolution and low shadows but strangely enough, it's still very much playable! The whole island looks amazing - can't wait to see it all!

Just the fact that you made it run on a MX250 deserves respect :) And the frame counter is not 100% reliable. The frame numbers are actually a bit higher. And thanks a lot! :) This Friday I will release an update version with 10 characters in total. Let´s see how that runs on your machine. Ideally there should not be a big difference, if any at all.
