Hey everyone,

I hope you had a nice week! So today I am presenting to you a first benchmark scene for the Beach-Set!

For now it´s for 15$ patrons because they have early access to things like that described in the Tier-Description. But I will make it available to everyone later as well. Like for the other Benchmark.

=> Island Benchmark Version 1.0

A couple of things to improve the performance:

  • Reduce the Resolution (Best 1920x1080)
  • Reduce the Shadow Quality

Those 2 points are the things impacting the performance most.

The ocean will also be more optimized because it's also taking up quite a lot of performance. I will have a call with the guys who develop the for Unity and they will help me as best as they can. But don´t expect major differences, maybe 5-10 frames more on a high-end system.

We also have 7 characters (not new ones, just duplicates) in the scene. Try to find them all ;)

Alright, that´s it for this week! I will switch to 2-weeks update cycles again. I just wanted to give you the benchmark this week because I couldn't do it last week. But therefore we now have a stable and nice looking build.

Have a great weekend!

Best,
Puppetmaster

Really great set piece, makes the stay-at-home lockdown more bearable to have a virtual tropical experience! I'm getting 75-120 fps, the lowest was 60 fps at the water, 1920 X 1080, Ryzen 3700x, Nvidia 2070 Super.

I don't know if the keys will be used, but it would be super useful to have space key as "go up" and control key as "go down" in free camera mode, since then you can easily access all axis :P

You can pan by holding the middle mouse button 😉 Give it a shot and let me know how you like it.

Thank you very much! I will release another version next Friday. With a lot more Vegetation but slightly increased performance. Could you also make a 1080p run then? Not for this one, for the next one. Thanks!
