1.15 release is all about improvements to physics simulations and performance. Everything mentioned here is already completed, and I'm very happy with the end results. The video showcases most of what has been done.

I'm going to take about another week to finish up 1.15 release (a few notes at end on what is left), but I wanted to give an update of some of what is in store.

Improved soft-body physics

  • Improved fast movement reaction
  • Fixed jitter/flashing
  • Max soft-body movement range param added to allow more range of movement
  • Added fine-control of 4 breast zones with spring and damper multiplier params. Allows more variety, increased realism, and ripple control.

Greatly improved cloth physics

  • New "fiber" joints. Much less stretch. Better shape hold, which helps with thin strips and folds. Faster than previous elasticity joints: 2 iterations give better results than 5 iterations of old sim. All sim clothing comes with new defaults due to changes.
  • Improved fast movement reaction. Less clip through of skin.
  • Fixed physics vibration and instability

Greatly improved hair physics

  • Elasticity system completely redone. Now have more control over root to tip rigidity with 4 new parameters.
  • New "cling" system added with adjustable parameter. This helps hold the style without locking hair in place to head as the previous elasticity system did.
  • Added new spread limit with adjustable param which helps control clipping of hair through body.
  • Optimizations. Simulation part of sim hair is much faster. Rendering is still the bottleneck (further work on that mentioned below)
  • New hair benchmarks added to isolate simulation and rendering to help with further optimization in future. Existing hair benchmark is a muddled mix
  • Fixed physics vibration and instability

Performance improvements

  • Main CPU-bottleneck reduced. >10% increase in performance on worst benchmark "CPU High Physics". Other benchmarks show even greater increase.
  • Increased parallelism/threading for character tasks. Results in less thread-wait time in some cases

Plans for this week to finish the release

  • Try to further improve sim hair render performance as that is biggest reason for sim hair running slowly at this point. Physics simulation is now very fast.
  • Bug fixes. I'll revisit the bug reports out there.
  • Add more sim clothing.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work!!! Honestly, I think you should increase the price of the Tier benefits. You do a lot of work, keep regular updates, and have created quite an exciting platform. I, for one, would not mind paying more! One thing that I would like to have the ability to do is to have the SIM v2 hair long styles be a little longer. I know there are 3 sliders for hair length, but I wish those would have more range to create hair styles that are a lot longer (maybe an "Increase Range" button, like some of the other character morphs). Since you mentioned plans to improve hair rendering, I thought I would mention it. :) A regular, optional Autosave feature would be a lifesaver, especially with random bugs popping up and making me restart my scene build. For example, sometimes I've spent over an hour on a scene, and then suddenly a character will go all spastic, and there is no recovery for that character at that point. I'd also be interested in SLI support in the future. I recently upgraded to 9900k, 32gb ram and 2080ti, but I am still seeing FPS typically hovering around 40-60 with 2 models with the 2080ti over 90% load. I do know that after I shift around 3 or 4 scenes, I need to exit the game and re-open, or else I will get a forced close (even with nothing else running on PC). I think this is connected to all 32gb of the ram being taken up and no available memory. Oh.. and a pleated, plaid school-style skirt would be freaking awesome! Thanks again for all of your hard work. Again, I think you should increase tier costs as you do excellent work, and the value of even the Creator tier is already too good. If there is anything that even I could do to assist you in your work, I'd be happy to as well. Thank you!

thank you!

The lips (including the underside), when moving at high speed, exaggerated deformation, hoping to give adjustment parameters.

meshedvr

All soft body (including lips) is improved for fast movement in this release.

ZULEYKA GAMES

It's really spectacular! Nice work! Can't wait to see it all!

AWWalker

:D Thanks!

Disagree. The price is already what you pay for a full fledged indie game (concept, art, sfx, music, coding) or a netflix sub. Ofc he can create a new tier with higher price but w/o touching the others...

I dunno man, I like that mop-head. I've always wanted to fuck cousin It.

Great job man!

Coming Soon™ - Like the video format Meshed, looking forward to the update :)

meshedvr

You can still do mop head by setting rigidity and cling params all to 0!

Your work is amazing, is it possible to implement a way to remove clothing by pulling?

Anonymous

You are an amazing creator! Thank you for your hard work!

Hair is better than hairworks man. Awesome.

Wow. I mean wow... what an improvement!!! Cant wait to see it for myself.

geo_gan

I look forward to re-running the benchmark tests for my CPU bound machine and comparing to previous results I posted on the VAM group.

Does the soft body physics update/ripple effect apply to the glutes as well?

”ponytail“ This hairstyle, now because the rear pony tail is too sparse to become ugly, can increase the density, increase 1-2 times or more, and preferably customize the length and density. This is a very good hairstyle. I personally think it is best for all Asian styles, and the current settings are wasted.

I've been dabbling in VR with some of my own models and scenes, and I know how tricky this stuff can be. Excellent work!

Another nice update,Thank you Meshed for all that nice work.Just a question,a change of pose via trigger is it planned? It would be nice, and better than the "merge scene", without loading ^^ Thank you in advance ;)

just wow i really like the breast physics looks more realistic now i was also hoping on a improvement for the breast grafity because when the model lays on her back the breasts dont fall like they shoudend but still im amased of your work creator thank you

Thanks for putting the video together. I often don't understand the impact of announced enhancements when they're described in words, but this video was brilliant at showing the improvements you've made. Excellent video & excellent enhancements. Thanks

Are we getting this in January? Looks great.

meshedvr

In the post -> "I'm going to take about another week to finish up 1.15 release". I'm busting ass, but I'm going to need that whole week. That puts it at early February.

These are the types of quality improvements that make the experience so much better even though they don't stand out. Take more of my money :D

I love the cloth physics. I had never expected any VR game to have something like that. Would it be possible to cloth-physics panties? And would it be possible to add some kind of "grab points" to certain points on clothes to make it easier to grab and drag them off her? Thats highest on my wish list for VaM.

DJ

Meshed mentioned on Discord that one of the sim clothing items in this next update is a pair of panties.

Do you think support for accessories such as necklaces/earrings will come along anytime soon?

Anonymous

A release before the weekend would be amazing 🙄

Clayfacer

can't wait.

I mentioned in a post if something like adding multiple keyboard binding, hotkeys for morph values like a key binding for left hand grasp 0 value and another key for 1 value, like a trigger button for different morphs. Some people still are in non VR phase and use desktop mode. Awesome stuff btw!! Cant wait for the release.

Anonymous

I wonder if these updates will make the exploding character model bug harder to come by

Any updates?

DJ

Info from Discord: He was hoping to release today, but discovered he'd done something to undo a lot of the performance improvements he'd implemented. He's working on it, but release may be pushed to tomorrow.

VitAnyaNaked

Cool! In v 1.15 physics much better! I`m glad to see it!
