Cammy wins the Discord poll this month, narrowly beating out Resident Evil 4 Remake Ashley!

This is far from my first Street Fighter pin up, so longtime readers are well aware of my relationship with the series. The short version is that while I love Street Fighter for its style and its legacy, I just suck so hard at actually playing it. The special moves and combo inputs the game expects of you are like riddles my thumbs can't answer.

You know one thing SF seems to be handling well, though? Updating its iconic characters with each new iteration. It's the sixth game in a series that spans decades, and the cast reflects that. Ken is divorced, the returning ladies are starting to look milfy, and Dhalsim's bright white beard is truly epic. I appreciate that kind of acknowledgement of the canonical passage of time.

I appreciate it especially because I've seen other franchises attempt the same thing and screw it up. Like when your one and only main is canonically killed off-screen between games by a lazy Harley Quinn ripoff and her move set is divided up between her powerfully unlikable whiny children in the next game. But enough about the private hell that is being a Soul Calibur fan, we're talking about Street Fighter today.

The theme of this month was the trailers from the recent Sony showcase, which was nice, but I seem to recall it showing us very little we didn't already know about. The RE4 remake is something I'll be all over when it comes out, of course. And despite the grievous handicap of being unable to manage a shoryuken input if I'm facing to the left, I'll probably be all over SF6 as well. A new Street Fighter is always such an event, (except 5, but it looks like they learned their lesson since then) and I get the feeling I won't want to miss out on this one.

But what do you think? What's the most anticipated game coming out this year, and why is it Breath of the Wild 2? As always I'd love to hear about it in the comments.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CAMMY!!! And she's dick-drunk! They did a great job updating her to look less teenager-adjacent and more of a 30-ish woman who still works the FUCK out. Great abs in this rendition of her, and really nice tone with her breasts- perky yet also very substantial and large- that good "Morgan Shape". I dig the cum splatter, too- not excessive at all as it dribbles down.

Very nice! Tears of the Kingdom is certainly my only pre-ordered game this year, but that was as much about using those Nintendo Online vouchers to get a discount. 2 Yakuza/Like a Dragon releases this year, which are likely to both be very good. Just waiting for "Ishin!" to get discounted in a few months.

I'm torn between absolutely loving this picture and being pissed that someone is dissing the best Soul Calibur girl! Harley WISHES she was half as awesome as Tira!

It was hard to like that Sony Direct. SF6 Cammy was cool but no one gave a crap about the other two characters. They still barely showed anything from the new single player open world which is a bad sign. RE4 was shiny and they avoided the terrible GTA3 remastered rain shown in another trailer. As for Suicide Squad… if you actually liked Anthem and Marvels Avengers you may squeeze a couple drops of Live Service game fun out of it but Ill hard pass.

My most anticipated game of this year is Spider-Man 2. It’s just weird that it’s supposed to come out this year and we have almost no information on it. The only look we’ve gotten was that reveal teaser back in 2021.

Even as a casual SC player, I felt that Soul Calibur jab.

Thanks! I figure I don't have to do TRW levels of fluids every time. XD

I just got into the series with Like a Dragon and I'm loving it so far. Like any massive rpg I have to take breaks here and there or I burn out on them, but I'm looking forward to picking it up again.

Reinbach

To be fair, I never had anything in particular against Tira until the "Oh btw she killed Sophitia off-screen" thing. XD

Reinbach

Yeah the live service sucker-punch killed what enthusiasm I had, sadly. Though to be fair I was never sold on the premise. "Kill the Justice League" sounds like a one-off direct to video movie idea, not a game from a major studio that only releases one project per decade.

Reinbach

I agree. I'll be amazed if it's not delayed, myself. But they can take all the time they need on that one, I am EXPECTING to be blown away by that game and I don't want a buggy rush job on day one. XD
