I've been to a few hotpot places that offer plain water or at least salted water with Kombu. I thinks it's been explained to me that it's where it all started. I personally like it, not as much as the broths, but it really is just pure meat flavor.

The version I watched when he was with the Director had subtitles explaining like this deep framework for the shot and she's like look at camera. Shame you can't see the subtitles.

The Park Hyatt Tokyo where all the hotel scenes were filmed will undergo heavy renovation this year. The Bar on the 52nd Floor will be closed and also renovated, which is sad. It's a gorgeous bar with a fantastic view and you feel like you are in the movie when having a drink there. If you have the DVD/BluRay, the special features are interesting. I believe they got kicked out of the Shabu Shabu hot pot restaurant because the staff were growing impatient and needed to open. Also the overhead Shibuya crossing shots were filmed from inside a Starbucks and filmed without a permit. Also Scarlett Johansson was just 17 when she filmed this movie.

My heart broke all over again watching this. I saw it in the cinema with her. And seeing it now, I held her hand like he did, and I held her like that the last time we parted.
