This week was mostly a preparation of releasing my current build to the $5+ patrons.   However, I did take some time to add a really cool plugin, as well as get some work done on dynamic props.

I've released a new build for the $5+ patrons.

I've only gotten a few comments and bits of feedback, but what I have gotten is a bit critical of the changes I made to the combat stuff.    While I want to make a poll to get more feedback, I've tested implementing some of the feedback I've gotten, and so far I think its a good direction to go.

I've also been playing a lot of Zelda this weekend, and I've gotten some inspiration from that.

Outside of the new build, I added a dynamic day/night lighting plugin to the project, and it really looks great.  I can set it to cycle, or set the time of day manually.  I'm pretty stoked about it.

I still need to keep tweaking it to get it looking great, but I think its definitely a step up!

I've also put together my dynamic props system.  I want the player to be able to use objects in the environment, and so built a simple system for props to be effected.

Right now you can set them on fire, and throw them around.  They should even get frozen when you stop time(and you can teleport on top of them when frozen).

Last thing is I did a lot of work on a character I had started last week.  He's not quite done(he needs to be painted, and clothed), but here is a first look at my Goblin King/Prince   ( I don't know which of those sounds better yet.

That's about it for this update!

As always, I look forward to any comments, questions, concerns, etc!

Good update. I like the sound of goblin prince because it sounds like the Prince of thieves.

As far as the name for the Goblin royalty you have to consider what his role is going to be in game. A king sounds more powerful and (possibly) dangerous while Prince can be more mysterious and fanciful. The latter tends to carry a more whimsical vibe in a lot of fantasy while the former is usually associated with strength and longevity. That's just my view on it of course but either way you should tailor his title to how he'll be used in the game.

IMHO, it'd be nice if satyr had goat-like legs

Out of curiosity, what's different from the latest build as opposed to the one before that? Ane enemies or H scenes added? Gameplay changes?

Alliterative Acolyte

"The Goblin Formally Known As Prince" But seriously, he looks great and I'm sure Meri will appreciate that he doesn't share the same doughy physique of his subjects (not to mention that he even comes with handlebars). At some point I'd love to hear your thoughts on mission structure/gameplay loops. For example, what challenges you envision a typical quest might entail and the sort of strategies which would be viable. At the moment, the game is an interesting mix of stealth take-downs, minion management and devastating spells, so it seems like it could go in just about any direction from Metal Gear to Overlord.

That One Guy Who Never Pledges

All this new stuff is looking great, can't wait for the next version. That new character doesn't really look anything like a Goblin though, if anything he looks like a Druid.

actually the prop system could be interesting especially if she can throw the objects as distractions. My question is how much of an open world do you plan for this game to be?

Combat changes mostly, there are a couple new animations between Meridiana and the Incubus

I was thinking labyrinth when I designed him, but didn't want to just copy it.

As much as I can make interesting, and afford. Most likely it will end up with more of a hub area, that leads off to the level areas.

What I have in mind and what I think I'll be able to get away with(man power and money wise), are a little different. So I don't want to make any promises

Great news)))

I'm with Snizzlefit on this one because it all depends on what direction you want to take him. Though, if I had to choose I would go with Goblin Prince, only because it suits him more.

jin

my opinion: he looks like a king with the full rack of antlers, but this implies that he has a queen (not going into the inner workings of a kingdom and titles)

I just discovered the project and I'm now pledging. Can I get a copy of the build, please?
