This week I spent a lot of time getting the magic generation and use system all ironed out, and working.  

I had a specific look I wanted the mana to have.  I also wanted to try to make it unobtrusive.  I'm not sure how I landed, but its something I can certainly tweak as we go.

As you can see from the video, the same button you use to build up your "sex drive" meter, is used to draw the magic to you.  Once its in your general area, you can use it to cast spells.
Make a mistake though, and that bit of magic is wasted.   
The various magics come from their sources currently, and I may adjust it as I find more interesting ways to generate it.

I plan on putting out another test very soon, so I can get some feedback on how this magic generation feels.

Outside of that, I took some time to update some assets in the tutorial level, and will shortly be adding magic generation to that level.

I also did my normal stuff.  I added some assets to my modular town stuff, as well as did some more work on the imp monster.

Drawing Magic and Casting Spells

I wanted to try what I think was a different way of casting spells. Instead of having a magic bar, the heroine needs to pull magic from the environment to cast her spells. Thanks for the video, it looks pretty impressive. It seems that the week has passed quite productively.

Very nice. She has a charming way of working magic. As for unobtrusive mana symbols: when there is a lot going on on screen those might clutter things a bit. Maybe an opacity option or generally smaller symbols might work. That being said, the rain effect is very sweet on the environment ... and skin.
