Delay Notice (Patreon)

Hey there, everyone!

I know, I know. I've unfortunately gotten in the habit of delaying this year thanks to college and my work schedule with TA conflicting a lot.

However, my semester has just ended and I should be free up until the 28th of July (ironic that my classes will start up again at the exact day of my birthday). That's not what this is this time, though. Nyaruh, the artist for Tennis Ace, has been struggling a lot lately with her commission work. She's asked me for an extension. And, well, she never asks for anything like this. It would be very unfair of me to say no to her. And since she's working on a CG for this update, I'm not comfortable releasing the update without it. Therefore, I chose to delay this update until she's done.

She's asked me for around 7 days to complete the art for this month, so that's around how long the build will be delayed for. In the meantime, I'll try to get to work on the two adult short stories I want to post on Patreon after I finish work on the update and while I wait for her to do so.

She works so hard, I hope she'll be okay now with the extension. She does amazing work and I hope she can relax a little with the delay.

No worries! 7 days is hardly the end of the world (unless it IS the end of the world O_o) and for Nyaruh's art, I don't mind waiting :)

I know things happen, maybe she's more behind or you are, the only real thing that bugs me is the lack of communication, rather the issue is she's that behind or you got busy, a weekly update when late would be nice, trust me I do understand, just aside from delays you have a tendency to wait until good news, I simply prefer news even if 1 quick line like 'sorry still waiting on backgrounds' or 'insert generic issue here' (yah your personal life is none of our concern)

Okay, so I can understand this post was meant to inform us of the delay, but it has been two weeks without any updates, so we're all just wading through the dark here. I think most of us would prefer updates explaining the delays rather than just straight radio silence. I know that I'm just reiterating what Nitewulf said, but still...

I understand that making this kind of content takes time, patience and that there are a lot of moving pieces. It’s hard to please the masses and stay on top of expectations and deadlines but, as people have mentioned above, communication is key in any instance where a promise / contract is made or when there’s money involved. Patrons are charged monthly but we seem to get new content every 1.5-Ish months due to delays or issues. We’re all okay with delays and we’re all understanding but it’s starting to feel like we’re getting taken advantage of. Everyone is saying “it’s okay” but with the increased frequency of things like this happening, it’s not okay. I hope you are well and that you’re able to get things figured out but I am really hoping things go back to how they were because the past year or so has not been great.

As others have iterated in this post, I would like you to be more transparent with your post schedule and update more often if you aren't able to submit content in a timely manner. Noting that I enjoy your work and find the way you handle difficult subject manners in a mature and digestible way, I would hate to see your work get tarnished by not just being late, but by ultimately not regularly or consistently updating your status regarding future updates and work. I understand you have real life priorities and those commitments always take precedence, but please understand what the rest of us are asking.

It's now been almost a month since the original delay notice, does anyone know what's going on? I get life comes first but communicating as such is crucial. I dont mind waiting but dont get my hopes up if you're going to delay longer.
