Hello, everyone,

First of all, I want to apologize for the silence on the issue I was having on my end. I caught myself in a loop of thinking "It'll just take a few more minutes. I'm sure I'll figure out a solution to this problem soon and I'll just post the update instead of posting about why I haven't posted it yet". Except I couldn't figure out the problem. In the end, nothing I did on my end actually fixed the issue I was having. The only solution I had was updating Ren'py itself to one of the nightly versions (basically a beta version of Ren'py).

To explain what the problem was, Ren'py broke how the custom ATL transforms that TA uses for CGs, sprites, among others. Trying to fix it for the CGs would cause the sprites to break instead. This whole month has been a nightmare for me running around and trying to find a solution to the issue. I'll actually embed a few screenshots I took to serve as an example of what exactly was happening to the CGs in-game.

These garbled messes are what they were ending up looking like, except it was every single composite CG in the game (meaning a total of 9 CGs were entirely broken and other ones that had transitions between zoomed elements were broken to a lesser degree). A few months ago, some people picked up on a similar issue happening on Jun's Day 5. I don't know if that one was also caused by this problem or what. I don't exactly get HOW Ren'py broke them. It just... broke every single composite CG in the game.

The Nightly build of Ren'py fixed the issue, though I'm not sure if it might have caused other issues in its place. It'd like to ask you guys to keep an eye on it and report if anything else in the game ended up broken because of it. As it stands, though, at least the CGs and the sprites work normally again so I can finally release it.

Changelog:

  • Multiple changes under the hood (automated quotation marks in dialogue, changed font)
  • New CG for Keisuke's route
  • New casual outfit for Keisuke
  • Day 32 for Keisuke

I have about half of it written already, though the development on it was majorly slowed down due to me trying to fix this nightmare.

Other than my anxiety making me go slightly nuts thinking that I need to finish the update soon and that I'm not 'allowed' to make a post about why the update is delayed after having already delayed it once, not really. At most, the worst thing I'm going through right now is a harsh winter in Brazil (it's apparently snowing in a bunch of places for the first time ever, though not in my town) which has given me a cold and is making me very uncomfortable from how low the temperatures are getting

It's good to hear that you're alright, and based on what I've read I can totally understand why this went on for so long and why you were silent; it would have been better to have some communication, but I'm not about to pretend like I know anything about anxiety. Fact of the matter is, you're okay and the update's out, so I'm a happy camper!

Glad your okay, this must have been such a pain to fix. Don't be afraid to make a quick post letting us know what's up. We understand stuff pops up and like others said it's just good to be in the loop. Either way, glad everything worked out!

Glad you managed to get it working! It does look like the update broke saves unfortunately, but it's to be expected when you have to make under-the-hood changes like this. Keep up the good work!

I had to update Ren'py five times (with nightly and stable builds) till I found a version that fixed the problem, so that's to be expected

I'm honestly just glad you're ok. Radio silence can be a bit scary to be honest. Have you checked to see if the random outfit generation is interfering with the CG scenes? It could be that it isnt singling the CG scenes out and is trying to randomize sprites in them, which makes it scramble like that. I'm not a dev so I don't know, but maybe start there if you havnt already

Nah, it had nothing to do with that. It was the way Ren'py dealt with transform statements :p

Good to see ya in one piece dude; and good update at that too, so keep up the good work I have a question I've been meaning to ask; I always spend time daily on discord and as a common theme around projects and the like to have servers dedicated to them, I'd ask if one for TA would be doable/posssible

I did have an issue pop up with this update where I can't load my save files...it crashes with a pretty long exception occurred message. Has anyone else seen it or just me? :P

I've just had to start a new save, my old save files don't seem to work, either they crash or have a lot of problems.

I have had them too! The game doesn't even register that I have played some sections before and by that won't let me fast-forward them. I'll will try to play again tomorrow and learn more but I'm quite disappointed right now.

So I know Shoichi has multiple routes but is it the same for Keisuke?

Ok, I just did some testing of my old saves. My saves from the last two updates still works so that's good. unfortunately nether include where I was up to for Keisuke so I'll start from scratch. While I don't mind, I would like to what what caused this. Oh well, fun update, keep up the good work but don't burn your self out please, I would rather have updates that are kinda buggy or no updates then no game at all (as in the game being canceled indefinitely).

I wish pressing "esc" just took me to the save files like it used to... Or that I at least had some button shortcut to go straight to saving...

Whenever I try and load my last save file I get an error message, is anyone else having this issue?

Wonder how many days I'll need to backtrack to get a working save... Good thing I save often. Glad you were able to fix the broken cg's.

Yes. There is a sequence of actions that alters the outcome of the restaurant kiss scene to a less favorable outcome. I don't remember the exact choices at the moment, but on the day of the kiss when Keisuke takes you on the date, I'm pretty sure you have to pretend like nothing is wrong with the motivations behind Keisuke taking you out to that concert in order to get the bad (neutral?) route (I don't know myself if there are only two or three different routes for Keisuke).

Uh...... so idk how this happened exactly, but uh.... my game for the keisuke route is stuck in a loop somehow, when you go to the character select screen for keisuke and you run into him in the sports shop, and the pick pocketing thing, it just keep repeating that scenario over and over.
