I love this episode so much. Kourtney is a shining star and I'm so happy they're focusing more on her and her anxiety storyline. I also love the friendship dynamic between Kourt and Gina so much! The Ricky and Gina banter is so excellent like wow! Jet is such a legend for calling out Ricky hahah Also fun fact: They mentioned the movie franchise 'DESCENDANTS' in this episode which was directed by Kenny, who directed the HSM trilogy! And they're making a new one titled 'DESCENDANTS: THE RISE OF RED' for Disney Plus and Dara Renee(Who plays Kourtney) is going to be in it! So you should definitely check out the original trilogy!!

i love that jet sees ricky’s feelings for gina more than his friends besides big red in s1 and he’s known him for like three days 😭😭 one of my favorite things is this episode, and to me shows ricky’s growth, is him wanting to show up for gina and wanting jet and everyone else to also show up so gina can have the perfect musical as a leading lady. he wanted nini to also have the perfect musical at the end of season one too so she could get her chance and shine but his way of doing it in season one was to just give up and give the role to ej. to just step back for her. but now his idea of supporting gina, and wanting her to have the best musical ever, is showing up and doing the work and making sure he’s a great kristoff and making sure everyone else shows up to. that is such growth from him and such a better way of supporting someone. and it also shows his confidence in being in a musical.. he’s doing it for himself too not just gina. i just think it says a lot about how he’s treating his feelings towards gina and how he treated his feelings towards nini. it shows growth, and also in my opinion a difference in how he will treat a relationship with gina. i really love that ricky and his feelings were so obvious this episode once he watched the duet between ej and gina. to me it makes sense that his feelings are going to come rushing back and hit him like a brick because they were never gone just underlying and he couldn’t focus on them because he was in a relationship and gina stopped talking to him. of course, when’s he’s not in a relationship anymore and gina and him are on speaking terms again and they’re back to the dynamic they used to be his feelings are going to come back to the surface and hit him over the head. especially when they were having fun in the woods all night. and this is now the first time he’s really seeing ej and gina in a relationship for the first time and he wanted to do that duet with gina so it makes sense that it’s hitting him all at once seeing her with something else for the first time especially because he wanted to duet with her. and with gina, she’s probably oblivious and her feelings are buried much like ricky’s were in season two so you’re not going to see them as much also just like ricky in s2. it’s ricky’s turn to do the pining ☝🏻 talking about ej this….. his problem in his relationships has always been insecurity and instead of talking to his girlfriends about it, he just assumes things and acts accordingly as if he’s correct. making a snarky comment about them being in the woods together even though ricky literally invited him first and being rude towards ricky when he offered to duet with gina. and then saying to val “if she not busy with ricky” ????? gina is right there for him to talk to whenever he needs to but he’s acting like she’s the one that is making it hard for him to talk to her. he’s not talking to her himself just because he’s assuming things and the assumptions are coming from literally nowhere as well 😭😭 he can feel a certain way about ricky and gina considering he knew there was something going on in season one, but talk to gina if you have a problem…. not saying he can control them being friends, but if he feels insecure then talk to your girlfriend about it instead of making assumptions. ej has grown as a person a lot but i feel like he has not grown much in terms of how he treats his relationships and we saw that even at the end of season two when he was just going to call off his date with gina and not talk to her again just because of what her brother said. that issue wouldn’t have even been solved if ashlyn hadn’t said something and gina didn’t go fix it herself. also i think ej and gina sounded good in the love is an open door duet, but the fact that it was a fantasy scene and knowing the relationship in the movie of hans and anna was just her looking at love through a fantasy lens says it all and i’m so happy you think the same!! like you said she realizes that it’s not actually true love and that says a lot to me. gina’s entire “did he just say love” scene reminded me exactly of how anna with hans in the beginning of the movie and your reaction to it was so funny bc it was for real out of place 😭😭 “is it because he’s trying to prove something to his dad” right!! even before he got the letter he was talking about his dad coming to the show and seeing how productive he is. and his entire conversation with val when he was talking about his dad showed me it’s the main reason he wants the musical to come out so good. yes he also cares about spending next year with gina and that this could be her big break but he’s mainly focused on impressing his dad in my opinion. i love how you picked up on maddox being a lesbian since the first ep of s3 you really do know your gays 😭😭 also i really loved the kourtney anxiety storyline too. it was really relatable for me and i agree it was so well done!! when i was rewatching s1 with you when kourtney wasn’t sure about her voice i started thinking about s3 and how her anxiety storyline fits in so well even though it probably wasn’t planned.

I don’t know why that kourtney scene always gets me emotional, such great writing with her character this season. They didn’t have to blatantly say it but we saw her struggling with being away from her comfort zone and then this episode allows it to all make sense
