this episode actually changed lives lol. when ricky grabbed gina's hand and put it on his chest i remember screaming so loud. their chemistry was just so evident this episode and shows that when they talk to each other they're never just friends that chemistry and underlying thing will always exist between them.

I love this episode so much t's just such good fun, i also think it does such a good job of balancing rina's chemistry and showing their potential as a romantic couple but also reminding us of how good friends they are too, both which was severely lacking in s2

my s3 essays start now sorry in advance 😭😭 but i loved ej saying is it too late to start over and then them immediately cutting to ricky and gina talking about starting over at the beginning. i agree that it would be a disservice to their characters. i could never see gina cheating even if she’s in love with ricky deep down. and with ricky i would like to think that he’s above homewrecking (not that he succeeded in doing it but there was an attempt lmaoo) and he’s grown from season one with that. having him do that again would just be regressing his character. i loved that we’re starting with ricky and gina just being friendly and building up their friendship again like you mentioned in your reaction. not that they’ve ever been truly just friends in my opinion but seeing them go back to their season one dynamic is just so nice. they were so comfortable with each other in season one and have the same humor and could just fully be themselves and that was so strained in season two so it’s so nice seeing it back. especially because in episode two we see them being awkward and i love that because they haven’t had a conversation in months so of course they’re going to be awkward. but the day after they’re right back to it and it says so much that they’re able to jump right back into the dynamic they had before things got complicated so easily. they’re back to the dynamic they had that they couldn’t have in season two. it’s great to see them be friends again but i also love that you could tell there’s an underlying “something more” there feeling in all their interactions in this episode. with ej and gina, i get why people think they’re cute and yes gina is happy but it feels so surface level and i much prefer the banter and level of understanding and comfortability that they have that i just don’t feel with portwell (ej and gina). yes, they’re happy but sometimes it feels fake because i just don’t buy their relationship 😭😭 gina with ricky just feels so much more herself than with ej. and it’s so nice seeing ricky support her because he’s always been her number one supporter and she’s always been his number one supporter in both seasons, even when the relationship was strained in season two. and ash saying “i guess there’s always something new to learn” and gina looking at ricky and ricky already looking at her when she does. also gina saying they’re still walking in the same direction right after ricky saying it’s the journey that’s important. one of the things i was really excited to see after watching this episode was gina and kourtney’s potential friendship. we started to see it in season two, but in season two it was more so about her relationship with ash. kourt saying they’re gonna be sisters and with them playing two of the leads had me so excited bc 1.) they both have deserved that chance since season one and 2.) it means we can possibly see more of their relationship. and of course i love see carlos and kourtney’s interactions because they had me laughing the most this season. i feel like them and ricky and ash made me the laugh the most this season the comedic timing of them all is so good 😭😭 and we’re also seeing more of ricky and carlos’ friendship that started in season two and also ricky having a friendship with a jet. and i love that because we didn’t really get to see ricky with his friends in season two that much because he was so focused on his relationship and his life and keeping it all together. a lot of people were hard on ash this episode in the fandom, but i can totally understand her thought process. in season two she was so sure that she was going to be mrs. potts and when she got the belle she was insecure in it at first and wasn’t sure if she was the right fit, but she eventually was able to realize that she is going to do great in the role. now she’s back to being in the ensemble cast, which is still great she has that role but with her voice and the fact that she finally realized she can be more than that it’s obviously going to have her upset when she’s put in the ensemble. and now she’s going through an identity crisis 😭😭 maddox and jet are siblings! what i really enjoy about their characters and their relationship that we’re getting hints of so far is it’s only been three episodes but they’re incredibly more interesting than the season two characters already LMFAO. It also helps that i love the estranged siblings thing and complicated family dynamics.
