Here is the final video of our epic safari, the last day in the bush. If you haven't seen the Safari video that I posted on 'The Chateau Diaries' on Sunday, it might be a good idea to watch that first, as we refer back to various events on the previous days. It was one of the most glorious holidays I've ever been on and I'm very happy to share it with you.

I was hoping to release the 2020 accounts today, but (to my great frustration) they have still not been completed. This was supposed to be next week's video, so I edited it today instead. It's brought back such happy memories that I've been smiling almost constantly whilst  creating it, and my frustrations have melted away. I hope that if you have had any little stresses in your life today, this video will have the same effect :)

Lots of love from Lalande,

Stephanie x

Anonymous

That was breathtaking! Thank you for sharing it with us❤️

Best Ending Ever 🧡

Anonymous

My favorite part was how color coordinated you five looked singing while Percy expertly filmed! What a joy to feel like we were along for the ride with you. Thank you for all the hard work of splicing in Michael’s photos it really added to the experience hearing the shutter clicks and seeing the images. Magnificent!

Anonymous

A very nice treat, Thank you! The native music 🎶 is so enchanting to listen to, also. Whoa! The male lion, king indeed!

Anonymous

Transported! Beautiful. The elephants! Gorgeous editing, Stephanie! Thank you ❤️

Hi Stephanie! Thanks for sharing your safari with us! Any update on Diaries vlog #110 of Angkor Wat?

Anonymous

This looks like so much fun. What is the name of the safari you took and the place you stayed? I would love to check it out sometime.

Anonymous

Thank you for the video! It’s always been a dream of mine to visit Africa and go on a Safari, but alas, it’s an experience so few of us will ever have. As for the financials, I have lost count of the many delays and the reasons are no longer making sense. Perhaps you can clarify that for us.? Thanks Steph! ❤️

Anonymous

From the day they arrived on safari There was more to see than could ever be seen More to do than could ever be done With the sun climbing high in a sapphire sky There was far too much to take in there More to find than can ever be found And the day quickly comes to the beat of the drums When it’s back to the wilds of France It’s the circle, the circle of life

Anonymous

I love that safari driver. He seems like he'd make the experience even more enjoyable than it looks in the footage. What an amazing experience to share with us all!

Anonymous

Now I must go on safari. How amazing to come so close to so many of the beautiful animals in their homeland. I'm adding this to the list!

Anonymous

Where can we purchase Michael Potts photography?

I don’t think I’ve ever had such a good view of elephant feet as they were walking—very fluid and functional holding all that weight. Beautiful trip, thanks for capturing it.

Anonymous

Lovely video of this wonderful safari, I have enjoyed every minute!🥰

Anonymous

What a treat! Having animals so close to the living space is just glorious! This is the very first time I’ve actually seen how tall Philip is next to you w/o heels. I can feel you and Isabelle lingering a few extra moments. I hope they will come to Lalande very soon.

Hakuna matata , we saw Pumbaa !

thechateaudiaries

It is called Phinda Forest Lodge and it’s run by a company that have several lodges called &Beyond. I can highly recommend it!

thechateaudiaries

I wish that I could clarify it for you, but it makes absolutely no sense to me. My accountants have been working on them for over a year and keep telling me that I’m about to get them. For the last three weeks every time I’ve spoken to them, I’ve been told they’re arriving the next day. Yesterday I got a phone call saying that they’ve now decided to do 2020 and 2021 at the same time, so just need a few more weeks, but I didn’t ask for that!

thechateaudiaries

I am surprised at the delay because my accountant told me that he was completely recovered last week. So whatever is causing the delay is (thankfully) not illness

Anonymous

The accountants work for you Stephanie and I think they need to be set deadlines. Just with the right amount of authority to make your point. I’m worried about people taking advantage . The Chapel restorer is another one. x

Anonymous

Amazing ! Safari has never appealed to me but I think I have just changed my mind !

Anonymous

Oh! Wow, how wonderful was this. So close to all the animals and amazing photography from Michael. What wonderful memories of a fantastic safari holiday. Thank you Stephanie for this, its magic. Love from the Dordogne xxx

Anonymous

i agree and i was wondering how does ANYTHING get done in france if people are so slow and unreliable? sorry, i don't want to offend anyone, i love france but this is just the impression i got from stephanie's vlogs. i live in central europe and yes, sometimes you have to wait for a handyman or a specialist, two weeks, maybe three, you call them, then you call them again...but then, at some point i just hire someone else?! is there no competition? it all seems very laissez faire and relaxed :D but then again, i read this will only be the accounts for 2020, when stephanie started on patreon and clearly 2021 was much more successful and for the 2021 accounts we will have to wait another year i guess?

Anonymous

WOW!!!😮🙋‍♀️😊💖💖💖

Anonymous

So enjoyed this…beautifully curated. Brings back so many memories- the hadeha, thorn trees, crickets and the frogs, the shongololo and of course the big 5. Great that the country has had so much rain..the landscape looks amazing

Anonymous

That was simply the best thing to wake up to on a very Grey and wet day in Northumberland, I went on a Safari with dear sweet people and I smiled the whole way through , the only thing I missed out on was the Full English Breakfast !!! the music was magical and sounded like John’s (. Barry ) lovely to meet Michael’s mother who was brought up in Newcastle I believe x Gerry as ever was and is FUN, the whole video was uplifting xxx great editing Stephanie. Love Josie

Anonymous

That was great really enjoyed it xx

Anonymous

I’m in Northumberland too Josie enjoying a safari while hiding from the storms. Loved you at LaLande, hope you’ll be back there soon. Stephanie thank you for a wonderful video I loved you all singing and dancing at the end. Thank you

A fabulous safari enjoyed vicariously from afar for me. What an epic experience in the mixed jungle and plains of that wonderful camp. You certainly had some great sightings and Michael’s camera work was exemplary - as usual. I’ll not complain if you make a habit of this Stephanie. 🦁 🦬 🐆 🐘 🐆

Anonymous

Thankyou Gillian I am hoping to go back soon , I was brought up in Barnard Castle and there was a family of Tiplady which is an unusual name, are you of the family !

Anonymous

Loved that video Steph! You all had such a fun time along with seeing some amazing animals and sights! Thank you for including us. It made me miss Africa so much. It’s 15 years since I’ve been there. Love to revisit someday! 🥰🥰

Dear Ruth very shortly I am hoping, but at present a member of my family is frail so I am hesitant in case I am needed, can’t wait to go back ! Lalande and All get right under the skin ! XXXX

Anonymous

Well done Stephanie and Phillip on creating another video I enjoyed through and through! As for your late accountant reports…as an American accountant I can tell you that the shortage of good accountants and the avalanche of new requirements combined with the plague that shall not be named has created a night mare I live through daily. I don’t know whether my full staff will be able to work any given day or not. Couple that with the different government agencies having the same issues … a total slow down of all accounting and tax related work. It’s maddening for those of us who have lived by deadlines and getting all tax and accounting reports filed on time…hope your accountants come through it. Hang in there. The same can be said for getting construction products delivered, etc. We are all in this together.

Anonymous

How wonderful was that?!!!

Anonymous

I love Stephanie’s videos. There is just one little thing, that I think is very annoying. English people pronounce the Swedish company name IKEA (14:48). The first letter should be pronounced like English “short I”. Like same letter in words: Tim, Ian, sick, ship, his, ink, it, ill, is, print...

Anonymous

Funny thing, an elephants foot under x-ray has almost the same bones as a human, bigger of course. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Anonymous

A tip, if you are going to be around elephants you should fill your handbag with ripe melons and if they look like they are going to charge, you stand up and throw melons at them. It SHOULD work although I've never met anyone who has been able to confirm it, worth a try though. You might need a bigger handbag ! xoxoxo

Anonymous

I have never experienced a Safari so this was just wonderful for me. Thank you for bringing us along

Anonymous

Anonymous

Oh my this was so fabulous I thought I was there! Worried when you walked into the yard, why did they leave you alone? It took my breath away to see the Elephants slowly march ahead so calmly I guess you weren't breathing easily either. Fabulous photo from the guru Michael Potts. Thanks

Anonymous

OH MY!!!! This vlog is filled with wonder, beauty & humour really fabulous! Watching this on a windy rainy day in the UK and its absolutely taken me to another place I feel like ive been on a morning mini break 🤣Thank you. Your photography (& Michaels) & editing skills along with choice of music for the vlogs are exceptional. ❤️🥰

Anonymous

I loved the safari so much, it’s almost like being there with y’all. I for one don’t give a flip about having the financials explained. I just don’t want to see you taken advantage of. P.S. And that you and yours will have a super-reliable heating system by next autumn. You’ve lived with cold for far too long!!!

Anonymous

Loved these videos. Thank you for taking us on safari with you. ❤️. Wondering if Michael will put his photos on display somewhere & if we would ever have the honor of purchasing any? 😊

Thank You for taking us all on your AMAZING adventures in South Africa!

Anonymous

Stunning filming and photography! It was as if we were along on Safari with you. I’m sure you are inspiring quite a lot of us to curate our own travels on Safari!

Anonymous

Can I just say I feel so blessed to have found your channel. You bring us along to so many fantastic places that many would be lucky to visit one. I laughed so hard at the "boy band" at end of the safari ! Even the driver Simi(?) joined in the fun. Your joy is so contagious! I just can't imagine how Philip feels. From watching you on YouTube , to visiting Lalande, STEPHANIE becomes girl friend, countless exotic places, CHRISTIE'S, and now a South African safari jam packed with animals that Percy hasn't seen in 40 years.....all this in under 3 years! I saw the good bye from Michael's mom and not to forget the amazing outfit you were gifted for Venice, it shows how genuinely sweet you are, a perfect match for sweet Stephanie. Although, I wouldn't make a habit of keeping her from her breakfast, a little mummy peeked out! LOL ❤

I had the biggest smile watching this. You have just now created a goal in my life. I must go on a safari with my family. What an incredible experience. Could you please again share the names of the two different lodges you have filmed or recommend a lodge to stay at that is ethical and gives the best experience. Thank you.

Anonymous

I have been absolutely riveted to the safari vlogs. Spectacular!! This is one of the things I love about your vlogs..you take us on trips with you and not only share the laughs, but educate me about where you are and what you are seeing. I always learn new things about places I am going for the first time via your vlogs, or sometimes the 2nd or 3rd time in my own life to places I can no longer go. Bravo!!! (oh, and how lovely to see so much of Michael - such humor and not hard on the eyes either - LOL Well, I may be old , but I can still appreciate :-)

Can we pay extra to unsee Philip’s shorts? Now I understand the argument. (Not Melissa)

I absolutely adore Africa. Went once years ago and have longed to go back ever since. I can’t go to a zoo now having seen the animals in their natural habitat, even open range zoos seem too restrictive. Maybe my ashes will be scattered there for although I grew up in England and moved tinAustralia my heart is in Africa.

Anonymous

your safari video was better than any ive seen on tv!

Michael Pott's photography was UNBELIEVABLY beautiful. I would LOVE to see more of it!!
