The safety of your employees (not to mention friends and relatives) has to come first Stephanie, they are irreplaceable! Buying Matt's equipment seems like money well spent!

Anonymous

Loved the sunset behind you. I agree split the channels, maybe call the Sunday one something like, chatallan tours (sorry about spelling)

Anonymous

Bravo, of course you need your own machines! The place is large. Also a good idea making Sundays to a new channel, less frustration hopefully for some :)

Anonymous

Venice and you look so beautiful, the sunset is stunning. YES La Lande needs all of that equipment, fantastic for the long run. So happy I am a patreon in the US!

Anonymous

I agree with splitting the channel. It will be easier for people to focus on what they really like based on their expectations, the same way that Cadeaux was split off. I'm sure that most of your fans will subscribe to all 3 channels. I know I will. :)

Anonymous

Stephanie you once said you were passionate about the chateau diaries and you wanted to do the edit etc yourself. If you do split the channel maybe you could get some assistance with the content that isn't about the chateau, your travels, visits etc. This could make things easier for you too, not get so bogged down with editing constantly. I do think it is a good idea, and don't worry I am sure we will all be subscribing to both. X

Anonymous

I believe that separating the contents would be a bad idea. you are interesting to watch because your life is fantastic, diverse. nobody is just one thing. don't split the content, please. love from Brazil 💜💜💜

Anonymous

Keep the channels together. I personally like everything in one spot. However, I will subscribe to the new channel is you make one. I think it would be too much to have 3 channels (chateau unwrapped)

Anonymous

I adore you! You have made a huge difference in my mood. Saying that, no pressure. Your content is so varied and intelligent!! Your passion for your life is so enthralling! Thank you Stephanie, et al for making my life interesting. 🇨🇦❤️

Anonymous

Two channels sounds like a good idea, but I really like it the way it is. If you think it would make things less confusing then do it. It would probably lead to more youtube revenue.

Anonymous

Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Stephanie. I confess that I am one who was wondering where things were going. I have been missing the daily life at LaLande very much. Two channels sound like a good solution.

Anonymous

I just like following you with whatever you do. If the present opening carries on too long I just leave.

Anonymous

To be fair, I will follow any channel you create. So, I think this is more about what works for you. After all, I have the choice to watch a video or not, even if I am subscribed to the channel. Do what works for you!

Anonymous

A new channel for 'The Sunday Culture Diaries' would be a great idea, the same way Cadeaux works. So sad to hear Matt is leaving, but I bet Dan and Amaury will be like kids in a sweet shop with all those new machines! Thanks for the update x

Anonymous

I would do a pros and cons list with splitting up your content. I personally like going to one channel. It’s all the things we love, in one place.

Anonymous

I like all your videos so for me splitting the channel is unnecessary but I can't really say if other might find it better.

Great update…getting all that industrial machinery will help Lalande so much and save you so much as well. I like the 1 channel myself but the YouTube manager probably knows what they are talking about and if they think your numbers and subscribers will go up then go for the 2 ❤️

Anonymous

I love all of your content. I have learned so much from your vlogs...things I never even thought I would like...like toile! The vlog on Sunday about Ardmore pottery was inspiring. I can understand your passion. And if I ever have a chance to go on safari I want you to be the tour guide! I loved your commentary. So I don't care if you have a million channels on youtube I will like and subscribe to all of them and encourage family and friends to watch, like and subscribe as well. Do whatever is easiest and best for you.

Anonymous

I’m so excited about the lake. I love frogs and orchids but do want to see the lake restored. Surprised Dan isn’t jumping for joy. Hope you won’t be making more work for yourself if you split the channels.

Anonymous

Hello! For the Patron day, if many people are interested you can have an area for us to camp? It would be like a beautiful festival!

Anonymous

Yes split the channels…….so much going on it gets confusing,,,,,I love CHATEAU DAIRIES but also enjoy seeing other things. I is hard to accept all the changes but life is about change.

Anonymous

I’m here for all of your content. The division of it doesn’t matter to me. I’m a little worried that people are confused by YouTube! Thanks for the update, the sunset, and the gondolier’s serenade❤️

Anonymous

Thank you for the informative update Stephanie.....hope you are including some time for yourself in all your plans. I love watching all your content. Very best wishes to you and all your team. x

Anonymous

A lot to unpack there! Wonderful about the machinery, and the lake study, your trip to Venice, filming with Ollie, the architect, the Jardin Anglais. Get counsel from YouTube about the best way to split the channel. I agree it’s a good idea. You did it with Cadeau — did you experience any regrettable loss? It doesn’t appear so, so there’s a positive precedent. I will follow you whatever you decide. I do agree, it’s time to get some regular recurring video/editing support. You seem so relaxed now. I’d hate to see you so depleted come November/December. It doesn’t seem right, or sustainable. Come what may YOU are the heart of Lalande. Let’s not mess with that. Love from New Jersey USA.

Anonymous

Stephanie, you are beaming with happiness in Venice! I love your vlogs from here! ❤️ As for the channels, personally for me it does not make much difference, I will definitely subscribe to everything you put your hands on :))) Very exciting updates as well! Looking forward to see the progress! Thank you for the video! I also have a question to fellow dauphins and dauphines: have you received the prints of Stephanie’s father’s art for Christmas? I am afraid mine did not make it.. :( so was wondering if these were not just sent yet or if I should check with the post if something might have got lost. Thank you so much ❤️

Anonymous

I wish there were some sort of function on YouTube were you could subscribe to a main channel, but having subchannals were you could have different content and the subscribers could control their notifications for the different content. Then people how comes for one type of content can easily find the other, but you will be able to choose away what you don't want to see. Since that is not a possibility, I think splitting your work onto more channels is a good idea. Having several channels could actually be positive if one of the channels should fail (not that I believe it). You then have several legs to stand on and not have put all the eggs in the same basket. It's sad to see people leave, but as you have said before: that is part of chateau life. When the change now has come, it's great you can buy so much toys for the boys (and some safety😅)

Anonymous

I think keeping one channel. I think you would lose the crossover people. Maybe calling the videos travel diaries or something like that to separate them and keep them only on Sundays or weekends so you know if the videos come out during the week they are Chateau life weekend are travel life.

Anonymous

I never wanted to voice my opinion on the content on your channel but since you asked I will. Watching you and all of the people at the Chateau is a highlight in my day and I look forward to it very much. I personally get disappointed when a vlog does not center around being at the chateau. I do like the second hand shops and the short trips as long as there is some chateau footage. Those types make me really happy and I really enjoy them. However, because I love the Chateau Diaries so much I watch each video anyhow. This is my selfishness though because in reality you should do what you are passionate about and it is obvious you love content such as the Sunday vlog. I never gave any of this a thought before you stopped the Tuesday vlogs because anything else you did besides Tuesday and Thursday was just a special bonus to me. Now that I know you are essentially replacing Tuesday with the new channel with Oliver makes me disappointed only because I miss having a Tuesday vlog. No matter what, please don’t get overly stressed about it.

Anonymous

I feel privileged just to see your life, it will not matter how many channels, I will follow them.

Anonymous

Keep them together I think you do make it clear already that ‘Sundays ‘ at the chateau is different . I enjoy the variety in one place

Anonymous

I personally like your channel as it is, plus Chateau Unwrapped. I know from the titles of the vlogs what I can expect to see and I enjoy everything. I certainly don’t feel confused. However I shall watch whatever you decide. ❤️🥰

Anonymous

I’ve been watching your channel since well before lockdown. I was actually a patron but only for the $20/month as the Dauphine level was at capacity because I waited too long to become a patron. I’m now a Dauphine. And so happy to be one

Anonymous

I’m quite ok with the channel things the way they are, those that aren’t can simply not watch that particular video and shouldn’t complain. Your travels and the special places you feature are interesting and do pertain to the chateau diaries in their own unique ways. That said, I would watch another channel if need be.

Anonymous

I agree with splitting the channel , I will also be subscribing to all of them ♥️❤️♥️

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I would watch content on what ever channel you set up, but personal I love that your Channel has some verity. I vote for keeping just one Chanel. Lovely to see Cat. You will love glass blowing it amazing. Have fun Debs

Anonymous

Difficult one, id be tempted to go on the advice of the youtube manager tbh who probably have the exerience of knowing how/if it would work for the best. There is also the question of if the ad revenue which you use to pay employees/travel would be affected up or downwards with less views due to content move on the 'home' channel.

Anonymous

Is there a financial benefit to you if you split the channel? Is there more work involved in having two channels? I would only split it if it benefits you in some way. I am perfectly capable of not watching a video if it doesn't interest me, so no need to split it on my account.

Anonymous

That's wonderful that you will be able to purchase the equipment from Matt. Being able to get some jobs done by the the Lalande team versus hiring out will save on expenses in the long run. The channel split is a dilemma. I can see the pros and cons of each choice. I do think that the topics, people, and places in the Sunday editions adds context to what happens in the regular Chateau Diaries so I lean toward keeping the videos together. Hope you have a beautiful rest of your trip in Venice!

Anonymous

Okay…typing/correcting on my cell is a bit difficult. Anyway. I love what you’ve always done with your channel and the additional channels you’ve added (and continue to add!). There are a lot of naysayers, but you are fabulous and you handle the criticism with great poise and understanding. I don’t post because you get inundated with postings and comments/remarks. I feel I would be drowned under all of them. Hopefully this will get to you! I love the direction you are going. Stay fabulous my beautiful friend.

Anonymous

It makes sense to split the channels, it will allow you to focus more on the content of each one. I and most of your followers will watch everything you produce anyway…… can’t get enough of your joie de Vivre for whatever you are doing.

Anonymous

Lovely spot you're in there on a canal, Stephanie. Thank you for the update. Personally it won't make a difference to me whether you are on one channel or two. I want to watch all the content whether it be in La Lande or elsewhere. It is all fascinating, entertaining and I always learn something. I have found when talking to friends about some of the content of the vlogs that they make assumptions about what they expect to find on your channel. On one occasion, I asked someone if they saw, the beautiful pieces produced by Ardmore and they hadn't, not expecting anything that sensational to be found when touring such a far-away and remote spot. I urged her to watch, she did and was blown away. I don't know if dividing your content onto two channels would help in a situation like that but it might be useful to ponder how to alert people to such spectacular content.

Anonymous

1 question though…how about the church has it not been 2 years since he said he would start soon… maybe looking into a different restoration plan for the church

Anonymous

Personally for me I will watch it all videos u making. But splitting the channel into 2 it's maybe not bad idea 🤗

Anonymous

Your channel is NOT confusing. I love the variety of your channel—some at home, some traveling, some history, some art. I do not think you need to split it. Of course, I would subscribe to all. Be careful about taking too much advice! Don’t think you need to react/change because of criticism. YOU have built/developed a fantastically enjoyable and successful vlog! Maybe the experts should be listening to you!😜

Anonymous

So much exciting news! A picker, a digger, a dumper and a van! Great things will be accomplished with all that gear. As for Youtube - I love ALL the content you share on The Chateau Diaries but I'm sure there are advantages to creating a new channel for your Sunday vlogs. Go for it. Looking forward to all that lay ahead.

Anonymous

I watch all your channels anyway. Great about the digger etc….xxx

Anonymous

I'm not sure I'm the right person to give an opinion since I'm a subscriber from day 1 of your YouTube channel's existence (Don't ask, how I found it, I still don't know 😁) but I don't think there is anything confusing about it at all. You have been very consistent about what content you post on what day which means that your viewers can adjust their expectations. For me personally more channels mean more clutter, bigger chance something gets lost or forgotten in the process 😊 Btw. I absolutely loved the video from Ardmore. Such an inspiration! ❤️

Anonymous

Or 4 including the new one with Oliver, seems lik a lot to keep up with.

Anonymous

Just one thought. What happens when you are travelling. Will Chateau diaries be very quiet? Wouldn't want you filming lots of content to cover your time away as you would be doing too much . You travel a lot during Jan Feb and you have so much to do in December?. Could you ask the other friends/family to film some content for Chateau diaries? Just updates maybe🤔

Anonymous

Stephanie, if you have two channels and keep the Chateau Diaries separate from all the other travel and artistic content, would that not split your subscribers and therefore get you a smaller audience on each channel? I watch other channels where the hosts do everything on one channel, like you do now, they focus on their life and their home, and also bring the viewers along on their travels and into other arenas they enjoy. It works. It’s a hard call. Perhaps YouTube is suggesting it would increase your subscribers to split it up. Either way, I will be watching. I would hate to see less of an emphasis on the Chateau Diaries though, not that you intend that, but time is limited. The chateau Diaries is the heart and soul. Lovely sunset!!! And lovely Kat!!!! Hope you all had a fabulous time. 🌺🌸🌺

Anonymous

We are good with just the one channel; however, in the long run you may grow more to separate out the life outside of the chateau.

Anonymous

I don't care which decision you make, I'll subscribe and enjoy them all. Go with what works for you. Thank-you for hours of uplifting and entertaining videos, no matter what channel they are on!

Anonymous

First of all, I am sorry to hear about Ian and his friend, get well soon. Sorry to hear about Matt, good luck for the future Matt. Delighted to hear that you have brought Matt’s digger, van and cherry picker. All will be needed for the gardens. I think that having different channels is a very good thing, it all depends of a person's preference. I will still be watching all of them Stephanie. September will be perfect for for a Patreon’s day at the Chateau, I shall be there. Do not work too hard Stephanie, you snd Oliver filming in Venice I cannot wait. Love to you all and love from the Dordogne xxxx

Anonymous

I’m a lifer… & I love the variety outside of life at Lalande Mt favorite is always when you take us with you… I’ve never been in aSafari, or Venice… I love and appreciate all of your creative adventures … Just stay healthy take needed rests…& I would absolutely follow you to wherever

Anonymous

I agree with Melissa. I feel you are taking on too much and not only it could be stressful. Lots of different vlogs is really not necessary you have been extremely successful because of the format you have delivered. Every so often yes venture outside the usual but you have been extremely successful because of life at Lalande. Seeing Kit has caused a lot of interest in the comments and more favourites. Oliver is always a nice face to see but wonder why you need to be involved although I appreciate you have a lot to offer BUT please look after yourself especially as Covid is still around. I am huge fan and you have lead me to many other Chateau Owners for which I thank you. Please look after yourself.

Anonymous

💛🌷🥰😊🖼🙏

Anonymous

By the way. I love the channels as is. It's the variety that makes it interesting and different during the week. What the different videos contain isn't difficult to understand, especially after you have seen a few. In the end the choice is up to you

Anonymous

Stephanie, I found your channel, Chateau Diaries, over a year ago during Covid when it suddenly occurred to me that I may not be able to travel much in the future! I especially wanted to see châteaux - your Chateau Diaries - and then Cadeaux at the Chateau - I love them all, and have made a big difference in how I’m handling the pandemic, so thank you very, very much❣️Whatever works for you I will enjoy🥰

Anonymous

I think that it is better to keep one channel as a large part of the Diaries is really you and your life which includes the Chateau and travel and shopping etc. I think people will figure it out and watch what interests them after reading the thumbnail. I am glad you are getting the new machines as they will help a great deal. Thank you for all your videos and giving me a chance to experience a different life from my computer chair.

Anonymous

I love whatever you do, to me the channel is not confusing but if you decide to create a new channel I will be there to suscribe from the first moment.

Anonymous

I love the Chateau diaries (obvs) but I also love Sundays, I get to see things I wouldn't probably visit otherwise. Its definitely a lot to do with the presentation as your enthusiasm and excitement rubs off 😍 I

Anonymous

I’m a little sad to have missed your time in Venice as it was Natties birthday & your fun auntie was there a new favorite of mine live to you from California xoxoxo 💚💛🖼🙏🦢was so great seeing Cat even little snippets handling hot oil… ouch night night 🥰

Anonymous

Beautiful Venice, what I would really like to see is Teatro La Fenice , the favourite of Maestro Pavarotti ! Splitting the channels , , here we travel , here we stay at home , I really don't mind . O sole mio.....

Anonymous

Love from California 😊

Anonymous

Stephanie, I have never found the diaries and Sundays at the Chateau to be confusing at all. I’d rather not have to follow you on four different channels once the one with Oliver gets going. That said, if you split them I’ll happily subscribe to the new one too!

Anonymous

What a gorgeous backdrop for this Patreon update! You’re canvassing views so here’s my two penn’orth. I enjoy The Chateau Diaries and Sundays at the Chateau enormously and would keep them as one channel - unless you’re considering transforming Sundays at the Chateau into your vlog with Oliver as it’s sounds like there will be some overlap. Either way, Sundays is my culture fix and I enjoy getting ideas for my own home and garden from those videos, please keep them coming :) 💕

Anonymous

Splitting the channels?? mmm so many different opinions AND we vote for whatever makes your life easier - i have watched and observed you for over 2 years now and sometimes i see you react/respond to the comments that stand out as questioning or critical - which is a very human thing to do as we are literally chemically wired to respond to "attack" in order to as primitive beings literally keep ourselves alive - 1000's years on those responses can still kick in AND we are learning how to be kinder to ourselves to as nowadays it is nearly always not life threatening however it might feel SO MY CONCERN is that is will end up being potentially more work for you as at the moment you seem to feel empowered to stop the Sunday ones when they are too much- will you end up feeling you must deliver every week - as a subscriber to your personal diary i watch what you create- and as others have said i am perfectly capable of not watching a video if it is not quite my cup of tea or using the handy fast forward option that you tube gives us- the managers time is potentially very useful to you if you are able to pick what really works for you- We like many others are ongoing concerned for you health and well being with the amount of content you are committed to - selfishly we want you to stay well so you can continue - you bring so much joy and light - thank you

Anonymous

I tend to favour splitting the channel but in another way. Could you have the "educational" channel under another name BUT also include the same episodes within Chateau Diaries so the Chronology will be consistent? Those that are within Chateau Diaries would have a special border --saying "Find this content also in "Chateau Diary EXTRAS" for example. For me, I like everything, Diaries, Unwrapped, Education.

Anonymous

For myself, i’ll watch whatever you put out or video you’re in. I know its not helpful. I do have a question, will the Tuesday’s videos return?

Anonymous

to continue -- (I forgot and hit ENTER) -- when I suggest that a friend might like to watch provencal or toile de jouy, they are people that I don't think would watch the diaries -- that really gets me PO'd. and I don't want to subject myself to a friend's lack of interest in my favourite channel. I don't want to know that they are so dull and insensitive that they can't joyfully follow Chateau Diaries. So I will give them the "education" and hope that they get into it without my urging. Ha ha. So, to repeat, I still want the education to be Chronologically with the diaries, but make an extra channel too.

Anonymous

I love all your output whether it's one or two or three channels. All I would say pencil Stephanie downtime as well.

Anonymous

What beautiful lighting in this video - and so atmospheric with the gondolier's song wafting up to the rooftop. Yes, it makes good sense, to me, to separate the Sunday videos from the main Chateau Diaries. Looking forward to seeing some more footage of Venice - such an enchanting city.

Anonymous

Please do whatever is comfortable for YOU! We enjoy YOU wherever you are. Your ideas are wonderful! We support all of your great endeavors . Be well, have fun, and spread your JOY everywhere !❤️❤️❤️

Anonymous

Ah, such a bright clear beautiful day in Venice! Enjoy! I love all your content, and am very much charmed by your enthusiasms and variety, so a part of me doesn’t like the idea of a more professional streaming of content - but - I will very happily follow along with whatever you finally decide 😊 Fantastic news about the new equipment purchases and the lake developments! My regards to the frogs xx

Anonymous

It seems funny to me that people are so opinionated on how you should run your "Diary". I love all that you do, the trips, culture tours/passions, parties, building, planting, shopping, etc. and I, like so many others, will follow you to every channel you create. You will never please everyone but obviously you have many followers no matter where and what you do. Polonius said it best: "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man (or woman).

Anonymous

Stephanie I am exhausted just knowing what you are involved in on a daily basis. You have created a huge conglomerate and brand! Bravo for all your hard work and commitment. I am truly in awe, as I was once a business owner and know what it's like to be the one to drive all the components that need to work like a fine machine. I have grown to love all the people who are involved in what makes up the heart of your world and I will watch and follow what ever you do with your channels. I am more than sure the choices you are making are what is right for you and your life. What we all have to remember this is YOUR LIFE and the ultimate choice is all yours and we can chose freely to follow or disregard what you are sharing with the world. I wish speedy healing for the gentlemen who need it and continued success and strong bonds with those who love and care for you. I hope I will always be able to follow your adventures and the adventures of those who surround you. Cheers!

Anonymous

I truly love the balance of your channel ! Sharing the beauty at Lalande is important but I find myself rewatching your Sunday episodes and travel vlogs as well. :)

Anonymous

😍Great news about the additional equipment!! Sad to see Matt go, I wish him well!!💕 as far as the channels…..choose what will give you additional subscribers & revenue🥰 Get well soon Ian!!💐😘

Anonymous

You haven’t missed it it will be in a couple of weeks

Anonymous

I like the way you already split it. Different colours or beginnings is all it needs to differentiate xx much love

Anonymous

To split or not to split, that is the question??? If only the answer was so easy to give!!!! I personally like it as it stands and wouldn’t want yet another channel to subscribe too, I also feel there will be a small overlap with the Sundays and your new channel with Oliver. Also you could argue that we haven’t had a proper at the chateau video so far this year, with you being away so much. So splitting them could have an effect of reducing viewers over time instead of increasing them….

Anonymous

i am one of those people who come mainly to watch chateau related content. whatever is going on at lalande of course, renovation, decoration, planning, but also tours of different chateaus, antiques, brocantes. i'm not a huge fan of travel vlogs in general, i prefer visiting places myself, but that's just me. so if you and the youtube manager think that another channel would be beneficial to you, go ahead and do it, i'm ok either way. i hope you will be able to manage it all and it doesn't become too much with the travel channel and everything you have going on at lalande. will the tuesday vlogs come back when you're back at lalande? oh, and one idea you could maybe discuss with the highpriest of youtube: what if next advent you keep doing the daily vlogs but instead of just christmas content, you could declare the four weeks before christmas project-weeks, one project per week in which you all unite to do up/beautify/redecorate/organize one area of the chateau and you show us the progress in your daily vlogs (like the little tray that redecorated the petit salon, that was a lot of fun!)? of course you can sprinkle in some christmas decorating or some traditions and celebrations but the main focus of the vlogs would be the other projects. i think that could be fun if ever you decide to change it up a bit or if you run out of christmassy inspiration.

Anonymous

Your channel is a great balance of home life, renovations, and culture. There are already so many chateau channels and you're already starting up new channel with Oliver. When you get stretched too thin you usually drop off the Sunday video - if the Sunday video is its own channel, will you still look after yourself? Or will you feel obligated to still do a Sunday video and all that goes with it?

Anonymous

Yes you worded this so well, I so agree!! Such good points, the freedom to stop Sunday videos is so important when you need a break, keeping healthy & people can just skip... your title is perfect and incorporates all things in your life a diary is a book of moments which means all moments home or abroad it makes up all of you and add so much more depth to your channel.. Thank you Stephanie all the content you put out & asking for feedback. I vote to not separate.

Anonymous

I agree it is your decision and I know that you will make the right decision for you and the la landers. From my perspective I will be truthful and say I hope it doesn't become more "YouTubed", I think its success was because it wasn't you tubed. I hope the more others are involved that we don't lose what makes this channel special.....but there again as long as it is right for you then do it because each of us can decide if they like the changes .... I am and have always been (from video 1) a great supporter of you, if I had one wish....just don't go too far away from the essence of the brand, I know how easy it is for other channels to think they are staying true to the brand but in reality they are not and people sense, feel and experience that and then it is too late. (The problem being no one close around you notices because they are enjoying the success to) ...I know no doubt some people will take this wrongly and think I don't mean grow ....when all I mean is we all fell in love with the pure soul of Stephanie Jarvis....guiding the way rather than making decisions on what is theoretically right on paper. Listen to what your Dad would say....and I don't think you will go far wrong

Anonymous

I understand the YouTube channel has become a revenue maker, and from that perspective I can see why your YT manager advised splitting the content. I would suggest though, that already the channel's become more polished, more...algorithm oriented and part of the charm is that you share ALL the things you're passionate about in one place! As a long time viewer I'd love to see that retained, rather than having it thinned out across multiple channels. If there is one thing I've learned in this life is that you can't please everybody and you'll drive yourself crazy trying. Whatever YOU feel is best is the right move - by all means consider the advice you're given, mine included, and don't be averse to trying new things because you want to and think it might be exciting. But please don't feel forced into something for commerce sake, and remember that gaining new followers may come at a cost of losing existing ones, so it's always about balance. Anyway, love to see you enjoying yourself in Venice! Take good care!

Anonymous

I think you have to keep the subscriptions multiplying however you see fit. Nothing remains the same or it stagnates. “We” lol…need to monetize the channels in every way possible. There is so much to be done and segments of your market demographic like me, will not be here forever. We want to see as much done as possible … more subscribers, more channels, more to get excited about and see come to fruition!❤️

Anonymous

I think a new channel for the Sunday vlogs is a great idea. It would be a great way for new viewers to have a better idea of all things Stephanie. And perhaps continue getting cross over subscribers, and a good business decision as well. I will follow as many channels as you create, just love them all.

Anonymous

I’m not a dauphine but have been a patron for a year and the welcome card has not arrived. Maybe lost in the mail or influx of new patrons 🤷‍♀️

Anonymous

I think don't split the channels, it's not confusing at all because its still you. I see the Sunday videos as just another entry in your diary.

Anonymous

I've been following you from the beginning, And rarely comment, and I have to say one of the classiest things you did was not ask for likes and subscribe. you thanked everyone profusely and showed your true self. That's why I love you so much. I'm really disappointed that you have to say that now. It brings you down to the level of the other vloggers. I love all your channels. Looking forward to the new one. Venice looks like a good time. It's been lovely to see everyone. Hugs from Washington State, USA

Anonymous

I personally think that you should keep it simple, The chateau diaries are as much about you and your adventures which inform your decisions about the chateau, as they are about the daily activities and community. Subscribers enjoy the variety I think and those that don’t are in the minority. ❤️❤️ But Stephanie, trust your instinct, it hasn’t let you down yet. Where you go we will follow. x

Anonymous

I enjoy Chateau Diaries. I love watching the renovation and restoration, learning a bit about French design and decoration and meeting the eclectic mix of family and friends who share LaLande with you. At the beginning there was a lovely innocence about Chateau Diaries which I’d like to see return. Please focus on Chateau Diaries and renovating & repairing the chateau. That is the essence of your brand. Do not split the channels. Let your new channel with Oliver be your travel vlog and eliminate Chateau Unwrapped.

thechateaudiaries

It's a lovely idea but I think that realistically it wouldn't work on the bathroom/loo front. Though the local clamping site might be available!

Anonymous

However you slice and dice it works for me! Focus on increasing your revenue with it and let us know where to find what and that will be just fine. I am tickled pink you are going to do more travel vlogs!! Love them and you are so adept at descriptions and sharing the history. The only thing I would ask is if you are showing something truly remarkable...like a hand made crown of cabochon jewels from 1156 or some such....please, let the camera linger just a moment longer on it so I have time to pause the video and really take in the craftsmanship. That's it! Looking forward to it all...BUT, most importantly, take whatever time you need to "smell the roses." This is your life, too.

For me, the videos are fundamentally about the life of a modern day Chatelaine and the content you produce that is outside of the ‘living at the Château and it’s renovations’ is still all part of that lifestyle branding. A modern day Chatelaine needs to understand about beautiful furniture, wallpaper, furnishings, flowers, crockery and glassware to do justice to the space they are living in. They naturally travel and see beautiful places and bring back that inspiration to the Château. To split the content at this point I think would be more confusing. Many other channels have different strings to their bows and do different styles of videos. One of my other favourite vloggers, Jess Sowards at Roots and Refuge blogs about her homestead life, gardening, educational videos and also devotional videos that reflect her religious beliefs. I have no interest in the latter videos but I’m not confused by them, they are all part of the package. The key I think is clear labelling of the videos so viewers know which category of content they belong to and can pick and choose whether they engage in that way. The channel you are doing with Ollie is obviously quite different and it works as a separate entity and Cadeau has a specific purpose but your stuff needs to stay together so that you aren’t diluting your brand.

Anonymous

hi Stephanie I started following you along time ago and I think that for me it’s more about what you get up to so perhaps it could be “Stephanie Jarvis” and whatever you decide to put on YouTube I think you are a celebrity in your own right even though that probably makes you cringe at the thought You are your brand including the chateau and everything that goes with it On a personal note, you inspired me to quit my job as a public servant and follow my passion selling homewares So thanks for the inspiration as I’m now doing what I love I also live Venice and it’s great to see the city again Regards Kirsten, Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 🐨

Anonymous

I Love everything that you create, this may not be very helpful....be well !

Anonymous

Use playlists like you’ve been doing to point people to the specific content they are interested in versus splitting channels. You already have the separate channel with Oliver so splitting the channels just makes it harder to follow you. Ultimately the Chateau Diaries is you Stephanie. There are lots of chateaus to watch. Your viewers stick around because of your personality and joy. The only split that made sense was the Cadeaux because you needed to split off the revenue, so unless you are trying to split the channel for accounting purposes I really don’t see the point of making the extra effort.

Anonymous

Love the updates! I would keep the channels as one. I will subscribe to any channel you offer, but I think you get all sorts of people to your channel for different reasons-travel, history, diaries, etc. You might limit yourself if you take an aspect away. I do think you need someone to help you edit. I know you love the process, but as your channel and business grows you will need more help. You can always be the final edit person, but you cannot possibly do it all. Most you tubers bring in an editing person.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie - What a gorgeous view behind you! I, for one, treasure every video you make and put out into the world. I am perfectly happy to keep Sundays at the Chateau in the same channel as The Chateau Diaries, but of course this is your decision. I have a feeling that everyone who finds you through your Sunday videos eventually falls in love with the Diaries as well. Enjoy Venice and your beautiful friends and family! Happy birthday to Nati and Happy Anniversary to your beautiful aunt and uncle!

Anonymous

I will put on my marketing hat for a moment...but I 100% agree with splitting channel. It will help the "mysterious" YouTube algorithm offer the right content to the right people. While I enjoy the travel and adventures, I am a patron for extra content related to the restoration, renovation and DIY / design projects of the chateau, along with everyday chateau life. (note, here that I'd love to see you, Stephanie, more hands-on on projects, sewing, decorating, DIY. I do not see my monthly membership as some sort of voting member of the restoration of the property...but really enjoy the extra content. One thought, is to consider merging the Ollie channel with your new travel/culture channel -- I think 4 channels is too much perhaps? Personally, I'd be okay with the retirement of the Cadeau channel. while it's fun to see the creativity of your viewers, now that the pandemic is changing, sending chocolate bars and treats during "lockdown" is less necessary perhaps? I know it's controversial. I love to see the charitable connected in some way to the travels -- for example donations could be made (and matched, or a portion of the proceeds) to a charity connected with your new travel channel? Stephanie, you have great instincts and I know you will do what feels right, but it would certainly be wonderful to see your channel continue to grow and flourish.

Anonymous

Makes sense to have the 4 channels so the each can have a brand under your over arching brand. It would allow you the freedom under each to develop the content and maximize your target audience growth under each. Then you can cross promote them through the way U tube serves up ‘suggested channels’. Then the strategy should deliver larger overall subscription and ‘likes’. It feels like a cleaner approach while still allowing you the creative freedom to develop content you love to make.

thechateaudiaries

I definitely understand that. I'm trying to pace myself as I go into the year, but I'm not ruling out reintroducing Tuesdays in future. I just felt a little out of balance by the end of last year, and I'm being cautious about my schedule!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie! No matter which way you go on this I think your viewers will be happy, but just wanted to chime in with my opinion if it’s helpful. As twenty-something year old who has seen quite a few YouTube channels over the years since YouTube started, splitting your content into two channels seems quite unnecessary. Many successful YouTubers include a variety of different video themes and content formats. It’s like having multiple “shows” on one “channel” and indeed it’s called a channel for a reason :) Some people will like certain videos and types more than others, but they can pick and choose what to watch. Labeling them clearly (like the separate sundays at the chateau) is a great way to make this clear. The variety helps to bring more people in, and even if they join based on one content type, they may come to enjoy many of the other types of videos too. While I especially love the chateau life content, your other videos are wonderful too and relate well to the overall themes of the channel and also capture a more holistic view of your “diary” aka aspects of your life as a chatelaine that you want to share with us. I think the success of your channel demonstrates that there is a significant overlap between interest in historic renovation and life at a chateau with an interest in history, culture, the arts, and travel. Wishing you all the best with the decision that feels right to you!

PS the sky in the background of this video is STUNNING!

So lovely to see you in Venice... I'm so very envious! I think that creating different channels will help to keep things a wee bit more organized and focused for viewers for sure. One suggestion - It would be important to have a description of each of the channels listed below each video (everytime) so that if viewers are interested in seeing any of the other channels created by you then the links will be there consistently and their 'viewing pleasure' will be just a click away!! xoxoxox much love from Cathy in Victoria

Anonymous

I did notice you'd started asking for links and subscriptions. I don't find it distracting and knowning that YouTube algorithms use the number of likes to help recommended the channel(s) to potential viewers, it seems like a great idea to do it. Spliting the channels doesn't bother me, as I watch/like everything you do. Cheers.

Anonymous

I love the Sunday vlogs and i am totally not confused about both in one Channel. But if it helps for others, go with it. The only thing i wish for is less cooking, because i am totally not interested in cooking food and haven‘t used my stove since ages😂 but i don’t care if you go on with it😘

Anonymous

Love everything to do Stephanie....you are a very talented Chatelaine and have come a very long way. Keep doing what you are doing! Dan and Amury will be happy with all of the "boy toy" purchases as the equipment will make it a lot easier for all of the garden and ground works of the chateau. Sorry to hear about Matt and wish him and his family all the best for their futures. Keep doing what you do as that is why I became a Patron. I have no expectations on you Stephanie and love ALL that you do.....Press on!!

Anonymous

That's tough, I don't know either! I think I lean towards one channel and just keep using distinct graphic(s) to differentiate the content- as you've done with "Sundays and the Chateau" and "Advents". If anything separates to a new channel, maybe "travel" is one category I'd consider- especially, if you plan to do more of that versus Chateau content. Stephanie, I hope your accountant comes through for you next week. I'm saddened that their unprofessionalism is chipping away at the trust you've built with your patrons.

thechateaudiaries

I'm not planning on being away for more than a few days at a time for the rest of the year, so hopefully it won't be tricky for me to film chateau life

Anonymous

I don't find the different topics confusing on one channel. I'm subscribed because I enjoy your cheerful personality and all the fun things you share with us. Go with your instincts and do what makes you happy.

Anonymous

What a thoughtful group we have here! Yes play the YouTube game Stephanie and do it in whatever way feels the most authentic to you…if you get off course? You can always go back to everything on one channel. It’s not so big a risk to try it out. But I also, like some of my esteemed fellow patrons above, find that when you describe the channel with Oliver it sounds quite like a whole bunch of Sunday videos featuring the two of you (and produced by Oliver’s wife whose name escapes me at the moment). So perhaps three channels is the answer and not four. A shared channel with Oliver that has your videos together and also videos that you each produce individually seems like it could be the ticket. Unless I’m completing missing your intentions with the channel with Oliver. If so I apologize! I’ll be subscribing no matter which way you decide to go.

thechateaudiaries

That's interesting, but I think that splitting the views between two versions would stop YouTube from pushing the video as much

Anonymous

Agree...please split the channel 😊👍

Chateau Diaries. It's been a beautiful part of my life for over two years. I love the chateau and all the fascinating people who visit. I love Stephanie and all her interests and adventures hence the diary part. Therefore the channel does not and should not always take place at the Chateau. That is what makes the channel so fantastic! I believe that it should NOT be divided. Each episode /vlog is titled according to its content. Perfectly straightforward. Thank you for the update Stephanie. Venice looks magnificent. I can't wait for your vlog. 😊💜💜💜💜💜💜

thechateaudiaries

I'm not starting them again just yet, but may do so later in the year. I'm hoping to find a balance in my workflow before reintroducing the extra weekly video

Anonymous

Someone much wiser than I said that you can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. Whatever you decide to do will be great. Personally I love it all, the mad dancing in the kitchens and chasing chickens, watching you buy antiques etc and the visits to places that we will never otherwise get to see. I think that collectively we would all worry that you would do too much and exhaust yourself but as someone who loved my work so much I would sneek into work on sundays under the pretext of buying croissants having already worked saturdays, I sympathise. Doing what you love for a living is the bees knees in life. Happy Venice days to you and your little group. Hugs xxx

Anonymous

We really enjoy both types of vlogs and will watch on one or two channels, no matter. As others have said, do whatever makes the best business sense for you and is manageable without being overwhelming. I would resist the urge to have someone else edit your videos that’s not completely in tune with your esthetic. It’ll put a layer between you and your viewers and your accessibility is one of the things that makes your channel so inviting. Your voice shines through your videos because of editing Stephanie. 🙂 Ok, book written 😂, thanks as always for the update!

Anonymous

RE: Splitting channel...probably won't impact most of us, as we'll just subscribe to all of them, but maybe wait for channel you're setting up with Oliver, as once you have that, you might be diluting a bit too much? But minor worry anyway, just do what you think makes most sense

Anonymous

Ciao bella Stephanie! 🌷 I've been following for years and I personally enjoy the channels and the diverse contents just as they are now; I do not find anything confusing about these at all. However, if a split would make life easier for you and/or your YT manager, then please feel free to split them. Regardless of how many channels you end up having, I feel that people (followers) will choose to watch (or not watch) whatever content they like (or not like). 😊

Anonymous

For myself I prefer the one channel I enjoy the life at the Château. But I also enjoy your excursions the trips to the antiques fairs charity shops and anywhere else you choose to go Stephanie. Your whole channel is idyllic escapism for me

Anonymous

Yes I think different channels depicting each topic & clearly naming each accordingly would be great as there are times when I either don’t have the time or want to view other videos especially considering Chateau Diaries is my most favoured one. Thank You for all you do. Central Victoria e🇦🇺

Andi_ish

Hmm, that is quite a bit to think about. I have been watching since very early pandemic days, so I have become accustomed as the channel has evolved. I do see the need to clarify and why you might eventually want to split into two channels. Perhaps you could do a trial for a bit with two distinct intros (obviously that is a bit (a lot) of work, but you would be doing it anyway with a new channel) - Intros that clarify that one day is for art/history and the other is for weekly vlogging chateau life & work. You can still direct people to the other video 'series', just like you would if you were directing them to your other channel. One other thing that might help is that while I love the 'Sundays at the Chateau' title, perhaps it needs renaming for better clarification since these art/history days are not really at the chateau like they were in lockdown days. Looking forward to tomorrow's video!!

Anonymous

To me, they are the STEPHANIE JARVIS channels - whether you are at the Chateau or traveling. There is zero need to create yet another channel. You simply need to say "here we are at home today" or "today we're on the road." You can spell out how your life works if you wish, or you can carry on being an international woman of mystery with no explanations, living your life, and ignoring critique about how you choose to live your life. More channels is more WORK, which is the opposite of what you need.

Anonymous

I love all your videos!! When you start at #1 and follow along, it is your journey, and I love where you are going!!🏰

Dear Stephanie, I understand your dilemma when it comes to figuring out what is best for your viewers and best for you. I’ve been working in marketing for years, in many many industries although never YouTube. I think it’s risky to split your channel because I think it could be awful for you. Viewers will come and go for a variety of reasons and you have no control over that. What you can control is your brand and your brand is YOU! We are here for you and for the way that you do life, which is mostly at your château and sometimes traveling around. The essence of Stephanie is a for love life and people. You’re generous and fun and hard-working and a joy to watch. It’s so exciting to help you rebuild and restore the château but that’s not why most of us are here. I think we’re here because of your generosity to your viewers. You are so honest with us….get to see your struggles, your successes, your relationships, your projects your passions and we get to see these things whether you’re wearing a ball gown or your hair is still up in curlers! Don’t slice and dice yourself up and force yourself to come up with very specific content for each channel. YOU are the château diaries! If it makes you feel better maybe you should add a tagline to the title of you channel. The château diaries… The life of a chatelaine. Or something like that. Now after writing all this I will argue the other side. 🤣 Create another channel if that would make you happy or that would make your life easier for you or maybe even bring in more money. A second channel would be successful too, especially if it was about you doing what you love. ❤️

thechateaudiaries

It is tricky, because the more successful the channel becomes, the more insistent voices there are telling me what I should do with that success. You're absolutely right, I have to follow the path I was on in the first place, but sometimes it's confusing to find it amongst the differing opinions. That's partly why I took such a long break at the start of the year.

thechateaudiaries

Thank you, and yes, it was tricky for me to do. But I'm trying to be open minded and to try things for a couple of months.

Anonymous

To cover all of your content, just rename the current channel to “Chateau Diaries & Travels”. This way you will keep everyone together and they can decide by the individual episode name whether they have an interest or not. I can’t imagine anyone deciding not to watch any of your content because you are so enthusiastic and entertaining with all you do. Thanks for all of the enjoyable videos.

thechateaudiaries

I'm in a difficult position with Chateau Unwrapped, as it does take a lot of filming and editing time every week, but I'm loathe to stop earning the funds for charity now that I can see what a difference they're making (recently I've been looking for charities around me, rather than more 'anonymous' big name charities.

I think you should do whatever makes the YouTube channels work for you. Your Sunday videos will reach a much larger audience

I could give the exemple of Billy Petherick who often does very 'boys' videos mucking around with cars and engines and I know that many people like that but it's not so much my thing. I still watch and 'like' as I know that it helps. xoxoxo

I like the idea of splitting the channel, but even more I like the idea of you doing whatever makes you tube work best for you.

Anonymous

If you do split things up, Chateau Diaries - At Home, Chateau Diaries - Out and About, Cadeaux Unwrapped with Chateaux Diaries. And if you ever get a cow, Chateau Dairies Diaries. :D And if you COULD let someone else edit some of this, then I change my suggestion and support the idea if someone else could edit for you.

Anonymous

I feel Lalande doesn't exist in a vacuum. Your other videos show where some of your inspiration and motivation come from. Plus they educate us! Perhaps you could create a quick narrative of how everything weaves together? I feel it's all the same tapestry, different threads, and the end result is very complete. The multi-dimensional quality of your channel really appeals to me versus other channels that are quite predictable. Always a lovely surprise with you!

Anonymous

Because you need to save Jarvis Tours and Jarvis Adventures for your next biz ideas.

Anonymous

I can’t give advice, can only tell you that you are phenomenally talented as a presenter and thus you make everything very watchable …. At first I thought I was only interested in the dairies but have absolutely loved every Sunday video and in fact they are now my favourites .

Anonymous

I like the Chateau diaries as it is and enjoy seeing Chateau life at Lalande and also your travels etc. However if you did decide to separate into different channels I would just subscribe to the new ones as well! X

Anonymous

I commented too soon, how lovely to see Kat! I hope her hand heals quickly and completely. When I have to spend money on unsexy home repairs and machinery, I console myself with the thought that I am putting a solid foundation underneath the decor that can be seen.

Anonymous

I wouldn’t care about splitting the channel however that would mean you might have larger gaps in between videos on each channel at times which may change the YouTube algorithm? Of course I’m just guessing, I’m no expert.

Andi_ish

I feel I need to add one more thing. I was thinking about one of the first, 'how YouTube saved my chateau' videos with your mum in the garden. Something that I remember standing out in that video that your mother said (that I don't think you will ever believe), was that YOU, Stephanie are the epicenter. We enjoy the Chateau, the history, the art, the food, but when it comes down to it, we watch the videos for YOU. I know you won't ever believe that, but I believe with all of my heart that it is true.

Anonymous

I should add I watch not just for the chateau but for Stephanie so I do love the current format

Anonymous

Best wishes for Matt and a speedy recovery for Ian and Peter! Please do whatever you feel is right for the YouTube channels. I understand that the algorithm works best when it can target specific interests. Cheers!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie 💖 I don’t think you should have to worry about growing multiple channels to please a minority of people. I love your channel the way it is. We tune in to see you and all of your adventures. Your life isn’t split into sections to please people so why split your channels up ? If it was me I would stay strong on one channel and the people who love you will stay 💖 and more will follow xx

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, Ive enjoyed the update around Lalande - Best wishes to Ian & Peter for super speedy recoveries & the very best of wishes to Matt as he starts to carve out a new life for himself, I enjoyed the banter between him n Dan etc. Now.. About growing your channel.. I had noticed that Philip & Anna of How to Renovate.. Etc have nearly caught up on you subscriber figures on much fewer vlogs and a lot less content (no offence to them, I do watch them & enjoy Philips wacky skits & humour). So although you are streets ahead in Patron terms of course YT want to grow your subs. I was checking Casey neistats channel & right from his early YT vlogs he 'asked' for subscribers, but in his own sweet fashion.. Not at all conventional. Also, he has more 'topic' within his content and 2 channels, all which are available via the 1 Casey Neistat channel. Check it out. So you could easily create a new 'Topic' within you channel, brand it, promote it your YT giirl can explain that bit. Whatever works, you, like Casey, are the focus of the viewer and its your 'take' on life, art, culture, friendships, family that is the draw.. Like the BBC you educate, entertain and inform (viewers on reno progress at Lalande) that is so watchable. And perhaps like a TV station the variety of content - art, travel, reno, with you as presenter (ie presenting your life & interests) needs diff 'Programmes' but still under the banner of BBC or 'Stephanie' on which is Chateau Diaries, Chateau Unwrapped, My Travels, Special People Special Places... As someone has already said, To thy own self be true.. And yet, Go big..... you're up for this. Do it your way and it'll shine outta the telly, Phone etc... Much Love as you wrestle this new conundrum.. Im just waiting eagerly for the Venice vlogs ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋

Anonymous

I must admit I watch many channels, and each and every time they start to beg people to subscribe an press that bell button, I think it it so wonderful you dont.

Anonymous

Yeah, I’m not getting the confusing part. The chateau diaries as a title allows you to “diarize” in many ways. No one gets cheated—it’s relatively free! and easy to choose what you like, or skip whatever you are less interested in. I appreciate your careful but collaborative way of interfacing with the brand experts, always worth exploring. But it’s true you can’t please everyone. I accept that—I actually have no interest in DIY, blueprints or construction, and it’s easy to fast forward at muddy times. But rarely necessary. The thread is you as the diarist. The decor, personal stories, and travel have been absolutely glorious—agree that S Africa was full of high points. But so are the advent vlogs. There’s niche, then there’s brand—and I’ll follow you as a guide because it’s all fresh and just up my street. Thanks.

Anonymous

Don’t change a thing, I love the variety! Getting to see the personal side (joys and struggles) of everyday life in a chateau as well as learning the history of France and other site visits of the Sunday videos is why I love your channel. This is you and your joy radiates through each video! Don’t get me wrong, I would follow you on all your channels but I also feel like we would miss a big part of what makes all of this so special.

Anonymous

Stephanie I've been watching your channel from the very early days and I've always thought that all the vlogs are contained under The Chateau Diaries banner. I don't find it confusing just because you're taking us on a little trip somewhere. If some people don't connect with travelling Stephanie then they don't have to watch, they are clearly explained and labelled. But...if it's what you want to do that's fine ...your channel, your choice but please don't spread yourself too thin. It surely must be more channels =more work. Venice looks sooo beautiful.

Anonymous

I was thinking it would be nice to have some goats (at Lalande) LOL Splitting off Sundays to a separate thing will make me feel like I’m overdosing on Stephanie Jarvis-related channels. Just continue to explain what Sunday’s are for: excursions, culture dives… and make sure the cover shot graphics and title are clear in first few words that come across as a notification. I think it’s more confusing and diffusing to split.

Anonymous

I think you shouldn't change a thing you are perfect! And add another channel wouldn't be more work???, huh! it will be more work! My reasoning is that from the begining you showed us your heart & soul which includes the wonderful diversity of your character, and you even revealed to us your dreams too! That is the beauty of why we watch! All of the wonderful you is part of the "Chataeu Diaries" which is why we love you just as you are. I fully understand that you are trying to make everyone happy but there comes a time were you just have to do what makes you happy, and forget everyone else. You'll never make everyone happy. However, if you want to do another channel for yourself, which is crazy... God bless you! Forever a fan, Caroline

Anonymous

I don't think your channel is confusing - you differentiate the Sunday vlogs in your introductions. But having a separate channel for non-diary things might be sensible as well. Try it and see what happens. Just don't get too hooked on viewers or your real attraction will suffer, which is being yourself.

Anonymous

You have had extraordinary success on YouTube so I don't necessarily think that you need much advice from the 'experts'.

Anonymous

Stephanie, the reason we're all interested in a chateau and brocantes and baguettes and Advent and Venice and stained glass windows and espaliered trees and greenhouse hydraulic window thingamies and gifts and fashion and history and cheese and china pantries and peacocks and diggers and antique panelling and eye-wateringly expensive wallpaper in a downstairs loo and how to be a tastemaker in Christie's in NYC and a million other things is, my dear, totally and completely because it's about YOU! Stephanie, you don't need to change anything. I love this wonderfully diverse, utterly fascinating life of yours that you share with us. Whatever you're doing, it's working! Much love from 'Straya. (aka Australia)

Anonymous

I really do think it should be up to you however It works best for you I will watch every single thing that you do no matter what! I love it all! Doesn’t bother me a bit to have it w/all kinds of Eclectic places and topics and events it’s all so wonderful. Whatever you decide will be exactly right! Xoxo

Anonymous

Great update as always..I like the sound of 2 separate channels although I do like the mixture of content. So nice to see Kat...x

Anonymous

I guess I don't understand the intention of moving the Sundays at the Chateau to another channel? You said that those videos bring you a lot of subscribers and views no? If the point of working with the YouTube manager is to grow your channel, how would moving that content to another channel help grow your main channel?

Anonymous

I think you should re-brand as “ the Chatelaine diaries”! It’s You and the wider Lalande family who make renovations, couture, culture, cooking, gardening, travel etc so interesting. I have followed you since day 1, and don’t find the current format confusing at all.

Anonymous

I would much prefer to keep everything on one channel so all of the videos are in one place. In general, if there is a video I'm not particularly interested in (on any channel), I just skip it. There are also so many issues with YouTube videos not showing up properly in the subscriptions tab on YouTube that I would feel like I was chasing content.

Anonymous

No confusion here. I love it all ❤️

Anonymous

I don't find the channel confusing at all. I miss the Tuesday videos, but I've often wondered how you are able to produce so many videos each week. Love you, the chateau, all the LeLanders, and your travels. Keep up the good work!!

Separating the Sunday vlog and creating another channel makes sense. I suspect most of your existing Chateau Diaries followers will subscribe. Financially a smart move for both yourself and YouTube.

Anonymous

I want to watch it all! I'll subscribe to as many channels as you put out there. It has been fun seeing other members of the Lalande gang on the various Carnivale vlogs and I have spent happy times looking for you all on YouTube. Keep on keeping on Stephanie in whatever format works for you. I will find and follow you.

Love all the content. It’s not confusing to me. It’s all related to your life and diary. Will follow whichever way you go.

Anonymous

Hiya Stephanie! I started watching in the 2021 summer/ spring timeframe then binged to catch up. I didn’t think the channel structure was confusing, you have separate playlists. That’s not exactly tough to figure out. What’s weird is that I was just thinking about the things you do that are smarter than the rest. Your energy is a driving force and infectious, you surround yourself with lovely and fun people and do yummy things with them, you and your merry band religiously interact with your community, there’s no drippy/repetitive music and you moderate👍 the nuts or anything really ugly out of the video comments. You don’t do sponsorships - they leave me feeling manipulated or bored. You consistently express your gratitude to your supporters in a very genuine way. I can only think of one difficulty I encountered when starting your channel, I had no idea who all the players were, their relationship to Lalande, and I couldn’t follow all the humor without knowing the whole history. That meant watching hundreds of videos, a daunting task. Regardless of your decision regarding breaking up CD, perhaps I could recommend an annual or semi-annual year in review video. That might help onboard new subscribers that aren’t either in lockdown or retired, such as myself.

Anonymous

Glad to hear that you are investing in necessary equipment for the grounds and building. The Cherry picker is a must at this point and will more than pay for itself. The larger digger and van as well. I do have a question about Phillip. As he is not an Owner, a qualified contractor, designer or architect, why is he in any way involved with architectural plans or building input/decisions? Shouldn’t Amoury or Davy have input instead?

Anonymous

Also, not confused. I think one stop shopping is great. if a video goes up that i'm not really into, i can skip it.

Anonymous

I love all the content! I’ll follow as many channels you have LOL. I love learning all the amazing things! I may never get to any of these places or see in person any of these wonderful things but, through you I feel like I am getting to experience it in a small way! It’s a blessing so thank you! Just don’t work to hard 💜

Anonymous

Hello! Thank you for asking about splitting the channel. Personally, I like the variety. I don’t want you to split the channel. It’s going to mean having to manage and make sure you are consistently posting on each channel. You will feel like you need to do more because the algorithm isn’t liking the inconsistency. If you say it won’t mean more videos and you only do the Thursday video, it will mean that one of your channels won’t get a video. Love your videos!

Anonymous

Hi Kat! Stephanie, each and every video is great fun. Please manage it all in whatever format is best for you and the chateau. We will subscribe to as many channels as you create! I learn something fun in each and every video. Thank you!

Anonymous

One of my favorite things about your channel is the diversity. I love the knowledge gleaned from your videos about different designers, fabric, porcelain, travels to exotic locales, and (of course) to goings on at the chateau. Personally, I don't see the need to change anything. You're better than any show on any platform. Why change perfection?

Everyone knows Philip has an exceptional eye for detail that others do not pick up. And as Stephanie’s partner I think Stephanie trusts and relies on his views as well as many others. And I’m sure Davy and Amaury had input into the plans anyway.

Anonymous

I've been watching so long and know how to navigate your channel, but it could be a great Idea since things have grown so much! xoxo

Anonymous

I think you are so well established now online it won’t matter whether you split the channels, or what you choose to name them. The common link is you Stephanie. You don’t have to try to please everyone, those that love you, enjoy your content will find it. I personally love it all. Chateau Diaries, is the Diary of your wonderful life. Thank you it’s meant so much to me over this difficult time. I’m even learning French! And dreaming of when I can travel from NZ to France. Much love xo

Anonymous

Honestly I like the channel as it is and personally would be against splitting it... But! Your YouTube manager is, at the end of the day, the person with access to see how the algorithm is actually categorising you. Everyone else is just speculating! So I would suggest that if that's their advice then you have to at least try it. You can always link back to the main channel. I can't say I had noticed you asking for likes and subscriptions. But at the end of the day that's part and parcel of YouTube. Again if it works. It works! I am deeply concerned about the accountants as you've now been waiting two months for their update. Which seems deeply unprofessional! Great news on the lake survey, but somewhat sad that we have to hope you don't have any rare flora & fauna in order to return something that should never have been removed to begin with. All the best from London! -- Lee

Anonymous

As others have said, I don’t find the current setup of the channel confusing. Perhaps a different intro for Sunday vlogs would be appropriate? However, should you decide to split the content I will, of course, subscribe. 💛💛💛

Anonymous

They're truly amongst my favorites too. I did not know I'd like a talk on porcelain but I really, really do!! Stephanie does a great job with those.

Anonymous

I love the idea of your videos with Oliver be on your travel channel. It makes so much sense.

Anonymous

So sorry to see and hear about Kat's burn. Hurting for her and wishing her a very quick recovery! I would be in favor or leaving the Chateau Diaries channel as it is now which to me is PERFECT!! I would be against breaking off parts since those parts are what makes the channel what it is which is a channel where you never know what or where you will be lead!! Thanks for making such a fun contribution to this difficult time in the world. xo

Anonymous

Regarding splitting the channels, how was it for you when you started the chateau unwrapped? I think it was a good thing because not everyone enjoyed it when it was in the Diaries. Sunday’s at the Chateau, in the other hand, could attract a different set of subscribers for its cultural value, and that are not interested in daily life. I think the trick will be in how to let everyone know about all of the channels you have, and where you will be showing one thing or another. Maybe you could post a poll on YouTube and get more opinions 😊

Anonymous

Regarding the decision to split or not spilt the channel, it doesn't make good business sense to me to do something that will possibly decrease your exposure to new subscribers. If there is a business or financial advantage, then it would make sense to start another channel. There was a financial reason to create a separate channel for Cadeaux at the Château, and it has been wildly successful, as well as a wonderful benefit to others. Perhaps you could create an FAQ video to address these questions that recur and post it on a playlist where it's easy to find on the channel. You could even include information linking to the FAQ video in the description box, or make it one of the suggested videos that come up at the end of a new video every month or two. If you are gaining new subscribers from the Sunday videos who are then also watching the Château Diaries, that seems like a winning recipe, and I would seriously hesitate to change it. However whatever decision you make, I will still watch everything you create because I greatly enjoy all of it!

Anonymous

It’s really not confusing at all. I watch everything however each of us have a choice of what we want to watch or skip. You always make it clear what to expect in the videos. Also if you break it up you have to try to grow a brand new channel and now you have a successful channel with your variety. Love you all. Best wishes and lots of success.

Anonymous

I love the variety BUT am perfectly willing to subscribe to 2 channels to get it. I watch what I am interested in and have zero complaints when content simply doesn’t interest me…..it happens. Will Patrons continue to get snippets of it all if you split? That would be a bummer if our information here was reduced by half to reflect the split…..I guess that would be my only question. So much food for thought.

Anonymous

If your YouTube manager thinks that splitting the channel is a good idea then I think you should consider it strongly. By growing your channel(s) you may be able to afford to hire more people onto your team to help you and thus lessen your workload while providing us with more and even higher quality content. I follow many content creators with multiple channels and it's not a problem for me. You can always use shorts to help people get a taste of your other channel.

Anonymous

Changes? Don't know how I feel about that... Wherever you are, Stephanie, is interesting and a lovely little boost for my life. I wander past mine family and says `Well, I've just come back from Paris or Africa or wherever you have wandered this time'. I just love all you do. The likes? Now that puts me right with the manager. I know the number of views and the number of likes never tally with any of the sites I frequent. I know its how the channels work and so few seem to realise that the likes are vital for getting that vlog seen or monetised. Push it hard.

Anonymous

Separating the channels is a tough question. First of all, I can not imagine people being so petty as to be upset if the video is a chateau tour, DIY or a trip to South Africa!! Having some variety is fun. I like it all! I also worry that splitting your channel will dilute your subscriptions. Will you need a separate Patreon for the new channel? How will that effect your current Patreon? What does the YouTube guru think? I will support whatever decision you make, of course.

Anonymous

In my opinion, all of those things you share on Sundays are part of your life just as the rest of the Chateau Diaries' content is. Your life isn't one dimensional, and there isn't any reason your channel should be. That said, I would subscribe to another channel even though I don't see the reason for one.

Anonymous

First time commenter! Totally agree w the other patrons’ comments about splitting the channel. I’d say definitely run specs from your manager, however, I feel like your channel embodies the joie de vivre of European travel/businesses AND the day to day life of being a chatelaine. Watching both within the same channel allows us to see all sides of your life as well as a little escapism/diversity! It’s also a plus to be able to feel like we’re supporting one entity (still love chateau unwrapped). Either way, merci beaucoup, SO joyful I became a patron!

Anonymous

Love all you do. Stephanie...You will never please everyone...💛You share from your heart...my only request is please don't let YouTube Edit your content...It's your personality telling your stories...YOU sharing your life and adventures Your way... Your realness & the Islanders is the why we tune in to begin with...💛

What I love about Chateau Diaries is that feeling that I'm checking in with a dear friend. You show me what you're doing with the house, we chat about fashion, interior design and travel, we go on little shopping trips to the brocante and have a laugh when we find weird things. And we travel together, from the comfort of my fortress island (Australia) and I get to see the world through the eyes of someone who travels like I want to. Seeing the cool things, enjoying exploring how people live in different parts of the world, and shopping. OMG, the shopping... I get the concept of the separate channel but for those of us who just love walking alongside you, one channel is fine and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.❤️

Anonymous

I think separate channels is a great idea. I love watching all of them but some are more interesting then others. As an example I’m not into watching you open up gifts so I usually skip those. I love the renovations and watching the changes take place. I love the gardening in spring and The different groups and people that apparently occasionally stay at the chateau. I LOVE your travel content. If it’s the same content but edited differently then that’s the way to go!

Anonymous

I would follow any new channel you produce. However I don’t find the structure of the current channel confusing at all. I enjoy knowing that on Monday it is gifts, Wednesday Paetron, Thursday Chateau, and Sunday whatever.

Anonymous

Lalanders...😁 Islanders...lol...😆

I love it all and will follow you where you go

Anonymous

For what it's worth, I would listen to the YouTube manager. If you are not happy with the content etc, you can always go back. If she knows her stuff and no reason to doubt it, her advice will hopefully benefit your channel. As many have said, you are the main draw Stephanie. I too, will watch anything you are a part of. Honestly though, I still love episodes that deal with LaLande best- everyday life, the people and the renovations. It's a wonderful escape to a very special and magical place.

Anonymous

I would subscribe to any of your channels.

Anonymous

I will watch you however way you split it up. We adapted quite easily to Chateau Unwrapped, we will do it again. BTW, I my husband intend to be in France in the first half of September - we would love to attend your Patron event and have a two-night sleepover in one of your guest rooms!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie! Thank you for the update. Personally, I find I love the variety of content under one roof. We regular viewers know that Sundays are already a separate type of content. I see no reason to have to take that further. It sounds like a lot of effort and additional work for a few viewers who may be more structured minded. That said, If you've been advised by your manager that separating the content out will help to improve your stats for growth then it might be a good business move. But I'm of the mind that if it isn't broken don't fix it! Either way, I'll be watching all of it! Really looking forward to the new content with Ollie, been such a long time coming! And so great to see Kat again. Hope this helps! :-)

Anonymous

I hope it's okay that I think you should remember how you became so incredibly successful in the first place, and that your YouTube "manager" should too. Did you ask for likes and subscribes, did you segregate your content so as not to confuse people? No - everyone came along because what unifies your efforts is YOU, and you are amazing. I try to cut off the video just at the end there, before you start sounding more like that YouTube manager and less like yourself. As for more and more channels, tell your confused newbies to have a look at your playlists. The thumbnails really differentiate your various content. I do recommend that you have an intro video on your front page though, that can play when people visit and explain your vision. I'll support you to the moon and back though, no matter which direction you go. <3

Anonymous

Perhaps the Sunday vlogs become "Sundays with the Chatelaine" because they are centered on your passions, interests and travels? That way people wouldn't expect them to be about the chateau itself. And the Chateau Diaries continue to be centered on the chateau and its ensemble cast. Our opinion is suspect because as patrons we have bought into the whole package but I can see the need to differentiate between the two types of content so you don't confuse or disappoint people who have a specific interest that applies to only one channel. Sorry to hear about Matt. He has been such a great addition. But I confess, as soon as you said he was leaving, the first thing that popped into my head was, "The dumper!" Of course, with Dan and Amaury double-teaming you on a dumper, it was only a matter of time before you acquiesced to the inevitable. Always a joy to see Cat - quick healing to her.

Anonymous

I agree! The titles of the different videos and the header could perhaps be fine tuned for clarity for new viewers and potential subscribers. If you can have additional ‘about’ content for these different videos that should be reviewed and could be sufficient explanation for new viewers. Perhaps the Sundays at the Chateau could be renamed to describe the content more fully. This will ensure enough clarity for viewers. And Steph I agree that a new channel for Sunday content may lead to more pressure on you to produce more regular content for a new channel. With just a different name you are not committed to producing ‘Sunday’ videos. By renaming these videos you have more freedom to choose when to make them even if you still choose to release them on Sundays. With the new channel with Ollie on the horizon I think you should bed that down before considering further new channels. You could always make the decision for separate channels after say, this year. No offence to your YouTube manager but does the manager fully grasp your workload for the next few years? Especially with the renovations, architects, accountants, new builders, earthworks, plantings, lake proposal, chapel renovation and new channel with Ollie? It feels massive to me without including the b&b guests and daily operations and Patreon, Instagram and Facebook accounts as well. And hopefully time to enjoy it all without overworking. I know you think this will not involve any more video work for you but with the Patreon account as well I think you have more than enough to do. And your enthusiasm for videoing and connecting with viewers may tend to lead to burn out. This year is one to enjoy the start of bringing your visions for LaLande to fruition. And with Isabelle and Percy’s return you need time to savour it all with Philip, your family and friends as well as viewers. Your subscribers and Patreons are not going anywhere with all these wonderful plans and your amazing vlogs and the LaLande ‘family’ so don’t feel committed to produce more and more. I feel that you think and worry that your subscribers will suddenly disappear and then where will you, your workers and your plans be. After 50 million views that WILL NOT HAPPEN! So relax and enjoy what you have accomplished. If you get burnout or ill from overwork you will be unable to continue and THAT is the biggest potential risk.

Anonymous

I don’t think you need to change a thing. You channel isn’t confusing, just explain again what the Sundays at the château are about. I like to see your travels the the different places you take us. I think it would be confusing to split the channel up. I will continue to support you with whatever decision you make.

Anonymous

Oh, you guys look so happy! It's wonderful to see Cat again!! I really like the idea of making different intros for the different vlogs, rather than separate channels, and giving the art/history vlogs a different name. You work REALLY HARD, Stephanie, and do all your own editing, so I support whatever makes your life easier. I'm glad you're doing a poll for the Patreon day. Hopefully that will help you guys with the planning. I was wondering how many could even make it this year with COVID still making life difficult? Could you also do a poll for your patrons, as well as for your subscribers on what we like/don't like about your content? I think this info could also be useful to your other chateau vlogging buddies. I'm looking forward to your next vlog. Take good care of yourselves and each other. XOXO

Anonymous

As for separating the channels, your reasons for going in that direction sound valid to me. No matter what you do you are not going to please everyone. You are actually running a business now, therefore you should do what you feel is good for the business.

Anonymous

I think that's you've made clear on CD's that Sundays are usually educational or more in depth on a subject. To me, that's a great way to keep your content varied but interesting. I think what's also important to keep in mind is that the "brand" of CD's is YOU! Your audience is very drawn to you, your energy, interests, and your personality. So many of us like tagging along with you whatever YOU'RE doing and where ever YOU go. If you split up your focus into channels, you'll have a bunch of small(er) niche channels and (I'm guessing) the overall growth of the CD's will also slow down. By keeping all of your eggs in the "CD's basket" the channel will continue to grow and when/if there is a topic somebody doesn't want to see, they'll just skip that episode. Remember, you're super smart with great instincts and if something doesn't work, you can always try something different. :) #alwaysrootingforyou!!

Hi Stephanie. It’s sweet of you to ask our opinions. That really makes us feel apart of things. A few thoughts…you are asking your most devoted followers so of course we will all follow you to the new channel as well but I don’t think that’s really the point. Just because someone is a specialist (in this case a YT specialist) that does not mean you need to follow their advise!! Don’t take offense here but you’re not “normal” so don’t go and do the normal YouTube thing. You are a creative, free spirit, outlier with your specifics passions. If you were the average, normal person you wouldn’t have bought this huge imperfect chateau and lived there alone for those years and have a passion for porcelains and be withPhilip! You are different and have a lot of different passions. I agree with the many who have said to keep it as one channel. Another very important thing…. There is A LOT going on for you now. How can anyone really keep up with so much and not burn out? I know we’ve all missed you while you were away and there were less vlogs. Please don’t spread things so thin. Frankly, for you or us. If the Unwrapped channel takes too much time, maybe it’s run it’s course. I. Always found it uncomfortable that people just sent and sent and sent things. It feels weird to have the opening be shown like it promotes more presents being sent. You could still always mention in a vlog that this or that was a gift from a viewer without an entire channel. I wonder if there is another way to raise charity funds without cadeaux and then you would also have more time to devote to regular Chateau diaries?

Anonymous

Stephanie I wouldn't fool around with success by spreading yourself too thin. This vlog is about you and the characters that surround you , one of which just happens to be an old French castle. It's all one world of history , fashion, food, travel , diy and relationships, but it's you that we love and makes it all spin around in harmony.

Anonymous

My thoughts are .... do what is best for you and the chateau. I will watch regardless of the quantity of channels. It costs viewers nothing to be subscribed to any number of channels. Best of luck.

Anonymous

Well, I'm not going to be much help here, and I apologize. I will watch everything you post. I have been watching for well over a year, and I never miss a single one. I search for them because they have become my favorite thing to watch. I will watch them no matter what or where they and you are. So perhaps the Youtube helper and some of the other patrons will offer sensible thoughts on the matter of different stations. I am very grateful to follow my heart, which you and LaLande, and all of the residents and visitors fill up. p.s. I'm very happy to hear you can buy a digger and van and all the other equipment needed. This is very good news indeed. And we want to keep Dan happy. ;)

Anonymous

STEPHANIE ....... 1. Great idea to separate Sundays and Tuesday/Thursday Videos. 2. Suggestion...only do three weeks of YOUR Sunday Videos and one week of your/Oliver's video per month.

Anonymous

3. Contract with a couple new builders to get started projects finished once and for all.

Anonymous

What about a tiny rebranding like calling the channel " Stephanie's Chateau diaries" to make it more clear that the channel is about you. YOU are the magic here. YOU are the secret sauce. When you are traveling and not at a chateau, add a subtitle like "Stephanie's chateau diaries travels!" Making multiple channels sounds like it would cut into your revenue stream and that sounds like a bad idea to me, but your YouTube manager could advise there. Best wishes.

Anonymous

Oh Stephanie I absolutely recommend visiting the Arena Chapel in Padua whilst you are there....it’s beautiful I was there in 1998 It depicts the artist Giottos work on the wall. I think a seperate channel is a great idea for the Sunday videos and perhaps someone to help you edit

Anonymous

Oh, hey Kat!! So good to see that sweet happy face🥰 I like the idea of 2 channels. I agree those with different reasons for watching should have a channel. I love the new digger, van, & dump truck! It’s going to look like a Tonka Truck parking lot. I can’t wait for the forest to be restored for growing mushrooms & Davy’s forest garden to be started and planted, etc. Hurray for the newts & other critters that the survey will find🎉 I simply fell in love with the architects window plan! It looks SO GOOD! (Thanks Philip for finding the supports and bearing beams to adjust them so that they will work!) Have we heard anything about the swimming pond/moat situation? Stephanie last time you went full tilt like this you got sick. So please (😉😉Philip) do not let yourself get run down and have to be hospitalized. We would rather have less done and you well. I know there is so much to do and so little time-believe me at 75 I feel it more everyday. Don’t burn both ends-the middle suffers. (I think you’re doing too much right now-but that’s the grandmother talking.) Again for the hundredth time thank you so very much for all you do. For the joy you bring to our lives, for the information and gorgeous scenery we’d never get to see first hand except with you! I thank God that he put you on this Earth to share your spectacular light to so many. You are truly a blessing.

Anonymous

Totally agree about the editing. Freeing up more time for forward planning for the Chateau and the vlogs would relieve some of the pressure regarding content and general management of all your commitments. Also allow you to schedule regular breaks and events.

Anonymous

Boys and their diggers ! Must admit I’m a tad envious of a cherry picker with a 3 storey house I would love one Just wouldn’t look great on my driveway ! I will watch whatever vlogs and Chanel’s you do doesn’t matter to me but I can see some may not be interested in both do what suits you at the end of the day !

Anonymous

From watching other content providers, it seems that they have stats indicating what % of viewers are also subscribers. No doubt your YT manager has that info and is advising you accordingly. It has been amazing to watch you grow into a major influencer, and godmother/link to so many another interesting channels. Attracting new subscribers is obviously good business, provided you don't lose the ones that got you here. You will soon find out. I would keep the main channel focused on the Chateau and its personalities; change your intro to name all the main characters so your new viewers can get up to speed. A separate channel with a catchy title for your travels, fashion, shopping, Christie's etc. would likely attract a different set of viewers. Ultimately it's you and your personality that keeps all these balls in the air. Try not to spread yourself too thinly. Your Patrons are here because they love you and what you do, and want you to succeed.

Anonymous

I’d love to see the one channel remain. As many others have commented, it’s Stephanies’s diaries. Whether the vlog is based at the chateau is irrelevant to most of us. We all love seeing life, the people and the renovations but have fallen in love with you, your spirit, purpose and enthusiasm.

Anonymous

Stephanie, congratulations on the "Boys Toys." Much needed and will help with the garden plans enormously. I have followed you since Day 1 and became a patron right away when it was offered. Whatever you need to do, I will subscribe, but I like the channel as it is. If you are going to have a travel channel with Ollie, could you put your other travel on there too? Then you could keep chateau life, brocantes, local colour, parties, cooking, decorating, etc. on the Chateau Diaries channel. One way to organize would be to label each video "Renovating", "Gardening" etc., but actually, I don't like the idea of compartmentalizing so much, because your videos are delightful as is. You have variety, which makes the content more interesting. Splitting the channel seems like it would also split the viewership, but I could be wrong. There is a small cabal of naysayers who complain that they only want to see renovations, but I think they are in the minority. The majority of us like the channel as is. Speaking of naysayers, I've attempted to be the dragon slayer to the trolls who try to attack at every turn, but it's foolish of me, because they are so determined to be negative. We know from whence they come and who eggs them on... Still, it spoils the party a little, and would like to see them blocked from the groups. Anyone who manages/owns your channel and FB page can go through and eliminate them. They seem to have plenty of time to troll, not just your channel, but Dan, Marie, Vivienne, Michael P, Steve and Sara, Selmar, and anyone remotely related to Lalande. I see the same names saying the same tired comments. It's a pity that it happens, but you have the tools to limit the effect in your hands. They're like the drunken fool that bores everybody at the party with their nonsense. Anyway, this will be a banner year for Lalande! Things are going swimmingly. Keep up the good work! My favourite FAVOURITE project is the Grande Salon. Can't wait to see it done up. My best to you and all al Lalande. :-D

Anonymous

If it ain’t broke, why fix it?! I think you’ve done a fantastic job of structuring your video content throughout the week.

Anonymous

I love Kacey's suggestions and agree, Stephanie you ARE the magic....AND...selfishly, I don't want to go searching for another channel. Just add subtitles as suggested and people can watch or not watch. I love your travel vlogs, your teaching vlogs (toile de jouy) AND everything about the chateau and people. If there is consistency in subtitles...it would be super clear.

Anonymous

Congratulations on the YouTube promotion! I think the content of Sunday’s at the Chateau is mostly related to your daily life as they’re a deep dive into the things you love and many of these you have in your home. So I don’t see a need to separate it out but…. If creating a new channel for just the Sunday Diaries makes financial sense then go for it. You could always cross promote between the channels the same way you do now when you “put a link below”. I’m so glad you’re asking for likes, subscribers, notifications and comments. I only recently found out just how all those interactions impact the algorithm. You’re turning out an exceptional product - self promote baby! Lol! Sorry we’re losing Matt - THRILLED you’re getting the equipment. Might even be easier to find labour when you’ve got so much equipment on site. I expect we’ll now get a gloating video from Dan & Aumary. Or at least a podcast mooning over their new toys 😂 Oh the lake! The LAKE! I could feel your exhilaration over the ether. It’s going to be so glorious! Since you didn’t mention it I assume still no chapel restorer? I hope he’s ok. I hope you have the best time at the glassblower’s and I’m very much looking forward to that video on whichever channel it appears on. ❤️🇨🇦

You are so gooooood - Don't Change a thing. Your passion drives the channel - Not the manager of youtube - Press On With Your Passion. I'm afraid with 2 channels you'll have less viewers and views - more work for you really in the end - so that's my input - You are fabulous just like you are!

I will subscribe to however many things you make!!

Please don’t change the format, Stephanie. I think that we can make our own minds up if we don’t want to watch a video, but having more than one channel would be bothersome. Just my thought xox

Great idea with an annual or semi-annual year in review video!

Anonymous

I enjoy both types of content and it does not matter to me. I’ll be there either way. Have fun in Venice!

Anonymous

I would definitely be concerned of problems with lack of crossover if you split the channel, but you could always make a completely separate intro sequence on your Sunday videos while keeping the original intro on the vlogs and include a little snippet stating these are "Special Sunday Videos" or something to that effect and that might clear up a lot of confusion. However, separating the two might give you a little more freedom in what you promote on the Sunday videos. Enjoy Venice!

Anonymous

Your descriptions and goals for the Sunday travel videos and your videos with Oliver sound very similar to each other. You might be able to easily incorporate them into the same channel as they cover very similar topics. Even if you aren’t able to be with Oliver for every video, I would bet that the same people that watch the videos with both of you would watch the travel videos featuring just you and others. It would also increase your content for the Oliver travel channel so there would be less pressure to have such a massive amount of content filmed before even starting the channel. It would also mean you could start that channel sooner and reduce the chance of there being long lulls in new content during the months when you aren’t able to meet up with Oliver for unpredictable reasons. Bridging the Sunday travel/ business expo type videos and the Oliver travel videos could offer the Oliver channel more stability and success overall, while maintaining the same number of channels you currently have/expect-3. The more channels the more responsibilities. I personally love the Château content even if it’s not exciting new renovations, just talking to the fantastic people at the château and doing daily chores or tours of the old and new rooms is fascinating!

Anonymous

Love all the Channel's ideas. Would love follow up videos, for instance, next time you visit South Africa? I loved Ardmore so much-can't afford anything! I would very much like an update on how everyone there is. I think I'll go watch it again.

Please don't change anything. It is wonderful just as it is! Thanks for spreading your joy.

Loved the surprise concert below! Two channels sounds like the best way forward, but I’ll subscribe to any and all too! You’re fabulous! Best wishes to you and all the Lalanders!

I say don’t change a thing but make different intros. But whatever you decide, I’ll subscribe to them all.

This Venetian video was filled to the rafters with surprises and uplifting revelations, no less than wandering the narrow streets of Venice itself. Problem is, where do I begin to share my thoughts on how exciting all the news is to me?

Anonymous

The first of three topics is the new machinery coming online. No doubt about it, Chateau de Lalande is going big, bigger and best. I think Stephanie could whip up a bit more enthusiasm about the cash outlay there if she could plan out some designer colors on those new toys. Next is the chateau's planned revamp of the back facade. No more to say other than seriously well-thought out and aesthetically spot on. Not least and not last, Stephanie's clearly top-end enthusiasm about Davey's landscape plans were akin to a spiritual awakening. That will make a grand contribution to Lalande's stature and visitor draw as one of the must see chateaux of France. But hey, add in reviving the special beauty of the lake and what more can be said then, "voilà, une merveille scénique partout où les yeux peuvent voir " Hope you have time to verse the frogs in all the right answers to the environmental engineers. Then you, Stephanie, blew the lid off the works with the epic tidings of your cooperative venture with Oliver (Ollie) on a travel video channel. I'll be waiting not only with baited breath but also with mouse in hand ready to click on subscribe and likes.

Anonymous

That is an interesting thought about another channel but I like it all in one. I like the bold headings 'Chateau Diaries', 'Sundays at the Chateau' and whatever else you choose to share. When I see the heading I know what I am about to view and I like that. Would hate to see your viewers going to too many places and get lost or miss out.

Also the Ardmore video is one of my favorite Sunday videos too! Have already watched it twice!

I don’t think you should change a thing . I love it as it is . Xxx

Hello Steph, TY for another outstanding vlog. I see awards in your future . Keep the beautiful V. gowns handy . Two separate channels make the most sense to me, I love everything you put out . The Ardmore ceramics are spectacular. Now I want a silk scarf for myself . I also bought the Barbara Cartland cookbook . I am so inspired by you . Love Life and Laughter

I miss Kat. I saw her in the IG photo with everyone and waited for a video of you all….it never came. I was sad 😞 Good news about new toys for the boys. LaLande is going through many changes and I love watching that. I’m going thru a bit of LaLande withdrawal. I personally get very confused about all the different channels. Perhaps getting monetized on different channels helps? I would rather see more content on the Chateau, but I do enjoy the travels…..just worried you are again doing too much. Perhaps having other people film the Chateau when you are not there and teach them how to edit. Maybe have Philip in front of the camera a bit more and letting him edit too. Everyone contributes but learning too delegate is very important too. 🥰

Stephanie, I love that you are thinking so much for the ease and comfort of your viewers, but personally I LOVE the variety of content, it makes me feel more like I am following along on your life journey, life at home with all it’s crazy and then life as a citizen of the world. It’s such a joy to see ALL the different aspects of your life as a chatelaine and I would hate to see it segmented because it would take away from the real ness and fullness of your channel to me. Seeing your interest in travel, art, culture, etc. helps me to see how the decoration of the chateau develops as it is a reflection of your life experiences. Then I get inspired to make sure that my home represents all aspects of my life. Also, I believe that sometimes when we intend to a simplify we can actually end up over complicating in unforeseen ways. However, all of that being said, I would watch any video on any channel that you make! Thank you for being you and letting that be the common thread between all of your videos!

Anonymous

I admit that I would miss everything being all together on one channel, but trust you to make the right decision either way! Curious where all the machinery will be stored when not in use on site without spoiling the picturesque landscape, but I know answers will come in time! Thank you for bringing us on the journey with you!!

Stephanie WHY? are you buying all this equipment, expensive to buy and run when once the building is done they will sit in a shed or outside? why not pay someone to do the work? that's a big outlay for a short term benefit

Anonymous

I do not like the like and subscribe! OH NO STEPH! PLEASE DON'T DO IT! IT WILL TOTALLY SPOIL CDs! Thats the reason I am here because you are NOT like that PLEASE! donot do it, it will change Chateau Diaries they will have more & more control push branding, please do not do it. please! this is terrible news! Oh No Steph! I was here because you were natural and not affected by the commercial American style you will loose subscribes as is in conflict with your original brand. I am devastated

Anonymous

Im happy with whatever decision you make Stephanie- Do whatever makes you happy and what feels right to you. I'll subscribe to everything you whatever you decide. Hello to Phillip and all who are with you in Venice- (Rose budd)

While i don’t personally have an issue differentiating between the story types, i can see how it would be confusing for others. I don’t think the specifying more on the content is a bad thing either, as I and probably most followers, and especially patrons, will follow all the streams. It reminds me of how Simon Whistler has about 20 streams now with different content so you can subscribe to your interests. So i see how it makes sense.

Anonymous

totally agree this will be the end of Chateau Diaries as they take more and more control.. its the end of our beautiful community.. just too sad. Steph will go by what they say and they will push and influence everything in the end.. This is the worst news!

Anonymous

totally agree! I watch other channels and they never say like and subscribe and have just as many..

Anonymous

Ooh, forgot to mention. The "if you like this video, please subscribe and like" should be at the end of the video. Much less intrusive that way, and I see other YouTubers having it at the end, and as a viewer, I find it much more palatable. Also, no need to read out loud 2000 names at the end. Just a scroller with our names is fine. And will there be a new intro? I noticed you are not using an intro at all these days.

Anonymous

Stephanie you MUST be true to yourself and remember why you started and you are only this successful because of what you have done till now if you do this it will mean you loose people. You must remain true to yourself and your gut.. please don't change it.. they will want more and more and push for you to be more and more commercial and bit by bit CDs will be lost as we know it & love it. Please rethink your decision. its grown naturally on its own

Maria Soberanis

Maybe I'm biased but the intro explains the channel pretty well I think. Once you watch weekly you get the sense of its a "we come along with you wherever that may be" channel. It's always fun when some of the other lalanders contribute when you're off somewhere else and we can kind of see both sides happening at the same time in my humble opinion. Love what you do

Anonymous

Its not confusing.. sigh.. Steph you've have no issue till now.. it was your life Steph that we liked. I've been with you from your first video.. I am beyond sad.. They want you to have 2 channels for more revenue for you tube.. so sad..

Anonymous

So many exciting things happening. Sad news about losing Matt & Ian being out of commission for a while. As far as the new channel, I don’t think it matters to those who have followed you from day one but for new viewers, I see that this makes sense. OR instead of a new channel, use a title like “Life & Travels of a Chatelaine” - or something like that? It still may be confusing to new subscribers though.

Anonymous

She can sell it if she doesn’t need it later. There are many years this equipment will be of use.

I'm going to be as worn out as any of the readers with all this verbiage by the time I add this last thought on your split decision, or rather YouTube video question. Trying to be brief (which is generally not possible for me) my thoughts are: I'd very much prefer to keep the on-site chateau renovation blended with your and Philip's occasional personal travel-dining- various chateaux-historical building-brocante-shopping videos which are all an integral part of your life and daily life in and away from the chateau. It fills out your channel in unique fashion by providing viewers with a wider angle lens drawing its magic from all of your life adventures rather than a more narrowly focused look at work in and around the chateau. Certainly of great interest by itself but far more fulfilling when fleshed out with all of life's available wonders at home and away. Besides, you'll also be introducing us to a new and exciting travel channel as a joint venture with Oliver. So my vote is to keep a Chateau Diaries format as currently created and as rewarding as ever for a wide range of viewers. For travel lovers such as me, even after having visited 80 countries so far, I still eagerly look forward to more, whether it's in person or on screen at Stephanie and Oliver's soon to be premiered travel video channel--- hosted, I can sincerely add, by two charming and dynamic personalities. Whew, that's all folks. Can I breathe now?

Anonymous

I’ve always seen the Sunday videos as an extension of your diary’s. Of all the château channels yours remains the best to me because it’s about your life, the people in it, the château AND your hobbies, interest and travels. It all comes together to create a full diary. The sunset behind you is glorious ❤️❤️❤️

Anonymous

I'm really glad to hear news about the possible open day for patreons, and your continual acknowledgement of how the support has changed things. The day is just a token of honouring your promises to those that pledge each month, and whilst I'm sure a large percentage cant make it, the fact its being offered is enough. We all acknowledge covid has restricted this thus far. I'm really not liking the change in you asking for the likes and subscribes, it makes me cringe a little if I'm being honest, and its clear to see you are uncomfortable with it, although i agree if you've been assigned an expert then you should at least try, but is the expert just there to make more money for everyone? Life just seems to be money orientated these days, and it doesn't always have to be x

Sounds wise to take advantage of the YouTube Manager while you have the access. You can experiment a little to discover what continues to feel authentic to you and the brand you have created. Your instincts, thus far, have proven exceptional. While you work through your decision-making process, here are a few questions worthy of consideration: -How do YOU define success on YT? -How do YOU define success on Patreon? -Have you discovered what editing workload is sustainable for you? -How can you continue to build in/incorporate more breaks for rest/inspiration into your schedule? -Will splitting channels help simplify or further complicate your current level of organization? -Without splitting channels, are there adaptations that can be made within CD to clarify episode themes for confused or new viewers? -What percentage of your overall filming/editing time is going to each channel (CD, Cadeaux, and new channel w/Oliver)? -Does this percentage feel off in any way or is it balanced to your liking? -Is there a need to rethink any aspects of Chateau Unwrapped and the long term plan of charity donation? (Initially, this was an excellent solution, however, it seems the continual gift influx has far exceeded allotted filming time. Although it is fun to watch gift opening, imagine if even a third of the time spent opening gifts could be reallocated to filming a step-by-step project like sewing draperies or refurbishing the bed crown you and Michael Potts came across in the attic? I am by no means a YouTube coach, but the majority of filming/editing time needs to directly support growth/revenue of the main channel(s). When more time, energy, and effort go toward a charity endeavor, that will only hinder growth. (Or maybe you enjoy Cadeaux just as it is-if that's the case, no need to change!) You are one human and your resources are limited. This is why it is important to define YOUR priorities and what success looks like to Stephanie Jarvis. Best of luck, from Tucson, Arizona!

I just hope this manager doesn’t try to convince Steph to make it more commercial and not natural like it is now.

Thank you for such a lovely update! The sunset behind you is amazing! I love your videos and I will undoubtedly subscribe to your future channels. I've always admired how you join together both chateau life and other adventures in your life to promote, there's never a dull moment! However, I understand how it may be confusing to new subscribers as the channel grows. I'd like to comment on splitting the channel up and offer a suggestion; as a viewer that primarily uses the YouTube app, my concern is with decreased viewings. The app has a "subscriptions" tab where the users most viewed channels pop up first in a list for easy access, whereas other channels not frequently viewed are toward the end. In my case, for an example, Chateau Diaries is my top viewing so it is easy for me to click and view, however, things like Chateau Unwrapped are not in my top viewings, so if I wanted to check it out, as a user I'd have to sift through channels in my subscription list (I know that sounds lazy but I wouldn't want a simple front-end app feature to hinder your viewership). If this is the case for others, two channels might have lower viewings/ likes individually which might not bring in the traffic. My recommendation is to uplift/ highlight your playlist options on the channel - a helpful tool to find specific videos based on preferences. Regardless, I will subscribe and view if you separate the diaries and Sunday vlogs (I love them both!). Looking forward to learning more about the patron open poll! Thanks again for all the wonderful content! Sending love to you all in Venice!

Anonymous

Hey lovely Stephanie, thanks for giving us the opportunity to express our opionions. Personally I think you should keep it all in one channel ... it seems more WHOLEistic/some ! I feel dividing them is like fragmenting your life into compartments. The Chatueau, the visits afar, the vlogs showing your artistic and cultural interestes are all expressions of YOU and directly related to life at the Chateau. People watch Chateau Diaries mainly to see you and your family and friends in an amazing setting/s !!!!! Enjoy VENEZIA - la mia citta preferita !!! 💖💛🎵

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I can understand wanting to learn new things from the YouTube Manager, BUT you, your intuition, your candour and joy are what sells the channel. I say - listen to your gut! I gave never decided to subscribe because someone asked me- I just did it because I enjoyed the content. So if your gut is uncomfortable then - go with your gut and don’t do it! As for “confusion” about your content, well, I just don’t see it. Your vlog labels are quite clear. It is ALL your diary isn’t it; your special deep dive passions, the travel, the home life and DIY. Again, listen carefully to your inner voice about splitting up channels etc. You have had excellent instincts about everything so far. It hasn’t steered you wrong yet! Whatever happens - new tradespeople, cherrypicker/dumper, it’s ALL exciting!! Love you lots, and have fun in Venice. I’ll be here for all of it regardless!

Anonymous

It’s nice that you’re getting the equipment for the repair and maintenance of the chateau. About the YouTube channel, my suggestion would be before splitting the channel, maybe make an introduction video of your channel so people know what to expect (many channels have that, and the video starts playing automatically when people go to your main page). I think your channel is well organized. I love the variety. Regardless of what I say, this is your channel, and you should make it the way you like it. You have a lot of subscribers so you’re doing something right. I agree with Jane Nunn’s concerns about the YouTube manager. You’re obviously trying to grow your channel, so it’s a good idea to listen to the experts and decide what works for you. It would be interesting to learn what kind of suggestions they give you (I’m most curious about the suggestions you didn’t like). I know I’ll keep watching no matter what you do. I like your style! 😊

Hey Steph, your idea on the multiple channels is actually reminding me of the 'old days' of youtube when people were first becoming famous as youtubers - people like Zoella and the others in her social group (as an example as those were the ones I watched). They actually went through a similar phase! A lot of people around 2013-14 started splitting their original channels into multiple; e.g. a main channel, one for gaming, one for vlogging. Probably for similar reasons as you, but the interesting thing is I believe almost all of them who are still on youtube after a couple of years reverted to just the one channel, with a mix of content. I think they realised what I'm seeing a lot in the comments here - the people who love you are very loyal and watch you because of, not in spite of, your wide range of interests and a mix feels more authentic. Viewers may not watch every single video you post, but I for one really appreciate the things I've learned by watching videos of yours I initially thought weren't my thing! On a totally different topic I'm also curious about where the big vehicle storage and parking fit into Davy's plans...

Anonymous

I've been watching since the very beginning of the pandemic and absolutely love your content and everything you put into it! I personally love the mix of the Chateau Diaries and Sunday videos on one channel, I think it's a great way to pull in new viewers with the Sunday videos and then get hooked on the Chateau Diaries as well! Your videos are the highlights of me week and I'll gladly follow whatever path you follow :) good luck with everything you're doing!

Anonymous

The thing I liked about the vlogs is that Stephanie generally did not follow the YouTube formula in the best possible way. It was unique. I think with a YouTube manager they are looking at how to get the most money out of it and thus follow the trends everyone else does. So, idc really, but I like that it’s in one channel and Stephanie is not all - like subscribe blah blah blah. Cuz when the others do that it just sounds like money money money and buy my ish. But whatever. Also people get 'confused' no matter what you do. Is it worth the extra work? I just don't watch if it does not interest me. It's not the end of the world. - exctied to see the garden take shape! xoxo

I agree with keeping cadeau and your videos with Ollie seperate, I feel not everyone retains an interest in cadeau, but I do believe because of your personalities, you and Ollie can take that as far as you would like and more, I personally can’t wait, your online chemistry is fab, as it is with Michael, and I’m sorry that did not go further. As to combining Diaries with your interests and ordinary travel and loves, I feel you should keep it together, could you bracket it like Anna and Phillipe(sp?) do … ie Chateau Dairies (and my other adventures). Cliches become so for a reason. ‘if it ‘ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it’

Anonymous

I prefer Chateau Diaries as it was in the early days and up until about 6 months ago. I noticed small changes and it hasn't quite been the same. I assumed your success on Patreon would protect your from commercializing your channel too much and I would be very careful listening to brand managers. Do you need to go the commercial route with so much success on Patreon? The Chateau Diaries is different than many other channels and that's a good thing! Hopefully, it won't lose it's charm. xo

Anonymous

Thank you for all the information. Love all the new equipment. Wishing Matt all the best for the future. Ok, here’s my two cents. Please don’t split the channel. The Chateau Diaries is your baby. It’s what you’ve nurtured and grown over theses last few years. It’s what works. Between Chateau Diaries, Chateau Unwrapped and the new channel it’s a lot to keep up with. Please don’t add a fourth channel.

Anonymous

I love everything you do. I think you should go forward in a way that maintains your enthusiasm and creativity.

Anonymous

I will watch whatever you do on whatever channel you put it on. 💕

Anonymous

Perhaps just re-naming Sundays at the Chateau but keeping the channel as one would alleviate any confusion. I haven't got any good suggestions but it could be something related to culture, adventure, exploration, weekends away, curiosity etc. I guess I'm saying Sundays away from the chateau rather than at the chateau. Many thanks for all your hard work. MM

Anonymous

I can’t wait to join the new channels🥰🇨🇦

Anonymous

I've agreed with a couple of the views expressed already. My daughter(26)says don't split you will lose subscribers. I became a Patreon,2yrs ago, mainly as you are fun and uplifting,at a very hard time. I think the mix, keeps it interesting. However for more renovation info of late I've watched Dan. On that point I think you need to remind people fairly often, that your not carrying out a Restoration but a Renovation, there's a big difference. Well whatever you decide all the best,we will keep watching love, life n laughter!

Anonymous

I always saw your channel as your personal diary, so whatever you were doing was the content and you are a wonderful, vivacious presenter. I felt the Sunday vlogs reflected your passions for artists, places, local producers of deliciousness etc and, for my mother and I, these are especially delightful! We loved your Ardmore episode and the attention you pay to the history and craftsmanship of objects. Your thoughtful, well-researched and joyful presentations of beautiful things are very much anticipated and appreciated. They also provide variety, new characters and interest which sets your channel apart from other mono-focused "chateau-restoration" channels, in my opinion. I will continue to watch and support you whichever format you choose and I simply can't wait to see what you and dear Ollie have in store for us! xx

Anonymous

As the saying goes, "The whole is greater than the sum of the parts". What makes your channel so splendid and endearing to your viewers is the whirlwind vlogs of dinners, parties, chateau renovations, food & drink, local & abroad travel, the history and culture you share with us, all shared with the amazing 'cast of supporting characters' swirling around you. And you at the centre. Divide this into its parts by taking any of this away and the magic is diluted. Keep the whole and do an intro video on your home page for new viewers. Some people may be confused at the beginning, but after a few vlogs, it shouldn't be hard to figure out. As for the "click and subscribe", if anyone watching Youtube nowadays still needs the instruction, they must be living under a rock. I always loved that, despite (or because of?) your never asking for things like that, your ratio of Patrons to viewership is quite high! (There are other chateau channels with higher view counts but much lower Patreon numbers.)

Anonymous

I love it exactly how it is, your trips e.g. South Africa and the Sundays at the Chateau are an extension of you as the chartalain, and I adore them. So it means sense to be on the same channel to me. Either way I'll watch it if it is split as I know it is split. But newcomers may miss the other side simply because they don't know about the other channel. People can choose to simply not watch an episode if it is the part they don't like. Also lastly, I don't think you need to do the marketing 'subscribe and hit the bell' stuff. You are very successful without ever having to do that, and it is not you. Your channel is unique, you do not need someone else to tell you how to make your channel better. Go with your gut and intuition, I don't think it has failed you yet :). Don't let them dilute the magic.

Anonymous

I think the beauty of your channel is that it is completely you and your life. The life of a chatelain involves travel, visiting other château and all of the mavoulous adventures you go on. From my understanding m, The Chateau Diaries has always been your diary and I do think if you were writing a diary you would not leave out any of the details from the places you travel to, people you meet, daily life in and around your home, etc. The algorithm with always be there and there will always be many voices and opinions on what to do differently. I think you have had great success because of the simple fact that you are you and this is you channel and you get what you get. I believe that people gravitate toward that. That all being said, do what ever your gut tells you. It has not steered you wrong in this journey yet. With all the love to give, Sam Camp❤️

Anonymous

On a very basic note, I love the variety of your channel but I know I will watch both of you split. I always liked the fact that you never mentioned subscribing and likes and it’s a shame that you feel you now need to do that. Still adore you though Stephanie x

Anonymous

I personally love all the content together on one channel as it's all interesting and adds lots of variety and interest and it is all linked to your life as a whole rather than seperate bits . I would subscribe to all the channels but for me I never miss one video 😅 so like that its all in one place. I'm also super excited about renovations and restorations so for me the channel ticks every box for me. I'm also in awe of how well you are spinning all the plates, it must be monumental amounts of work to keep everything ticking along and the quality just gets better and richer. Its truly inspiring X

Anonymous

I did notice something different in your you tube channel , I mean you give more likes in comments and ask people to subscribe . what ever is needed to grow the channel is good in order to pay your employees. You need them to improve the chateau and Lalande is the main reason I follow the channel , I do miss the life at the chateau and I'm hoping to see it more in the future . I believe every person ever working at the chateau does it for the experience that the chateau gives them , nobody is there just for the money ! All of them are professionals of some kind and their love for the community keeps them coming . What I'm saying is that even if you are away on travels keep the update of the chateau life in the episodes and you keep the chateau lovers happy ! This with all my love , Päivi

Anonymous

We enjoy the variety of content on your channel , everyone has different threads running through their lives but we will follow you whatever you decide

Anonymous

We all have the tendency to want "more" but I think a healthy balance and sticking to a clear purpose can be more beneficial than just "more". Quality of content and a vision for what we're doing that is in close line with our values will produce better results than simply larger quantities of videos / channels. I just hope Stephanie and team don't bite off more than they can chew since there is already SO much going on. More may not always be the simplest option.

Anonymous

Agreed! Also the inspiration you get from your travels and other cultural visits shine through the chateau renovations as well. It helps us see and learn where you are going in your journey for your design vision!

Anonymous

Ooh I like that suggestion! The Diaries of a Modern-Day Chatelaine or Diaries of a Chatelaine. Could be a great replacement name for Sundays at the Chateau or for the whole channel itself.

Anonymous

Yes I do agree with all of these questions - so important to have a clear vision and goals! Also as a viewer I'd love to see some of the DIY projects too. Perhaps hiring someone to help with editing / having Philipp take a more active role here may be a way to give Stephanie more time to DIY?

Anonymous

Stephanie, I agree with the idea of splitting the different content into different channels. Personally I’m really only interested in the progress of the chateau. I occasionally watch the cadeaux channel and I like that its offered separately from your main channel so I know exactly what the videos are going to be about. This would be good for your other content as well. It is a little annoying when a chateau diaries pops up which has nothing to do with the chateau.

Anonymous

Are the suggestions from your YouTube manager good for you or for them by creating more channels for them and their algorithms? I personally hate constantly hearing “click the button below and like”, it’s a real turn off for me and sounds tacky. I agree with lots of other Patrons about keeping the one channel. Your channel is a diary, a diary is a record of all things one does

Anonymous

I watch because of you and everybody else so it doesn't matter what you do I will watch. You do what you feel is good for you, really I would listen to other people and then do what you want :) xx

Anonymous

Not sure where my original comment went - but I hoped to share that maybe working with a brand manager/marketing strategist to help craft a new intro video on your channel would help! This is a rough idea, but perhaps something like this could help people understand your vision and purpose of the channel. Stephanie: A Modern-Day Chatelaine Follow along with Stephanie, a modern-day Chatelaine, and witness her journey to renovate a beautiful 17th century French chateau with her friends and family. Taking inspiration from history, culture, and her travels around the world, Stephanie will share her passions and love of life that help transform and inspire the renovations and life at the Chateau. Chateau Diaries (Tues + Thurs) - Chateau renovation and DIY projects - Chateau life updates and snippets of living in a 17th century chateau (e.g., snippets of dinners, meeting volunteers, witty banter with friends, etc.) Sundays with Stephanie (only when there is content to share..) - Chatelaine travels + cultural inspiration (e.g., chateau visits, museums, cultural sites, etc.) - Exposés on Stephanie’s beloved brands - Deep dives on other passions (e.g., history of Toile de Joie, learning recipes from your friends around the world like the Turkish chef… etc.!

Anonymous

With the new machinery, it would be better to have a remise/barn to store it away from the elements and for security. I don't think there's currently anywhere for it at Lalande, so any plans for that, Stephanie?

Anonymous

The main change I'd like to see for your Youtube channels would be the end of Chateau Unwrapped. It takes up your time, Nati's time and so on. There is an environmental impact to items being sent from all over the world, many of which you already have, don't need, or have quite enough funds to be able to buy locally if you want. There is also no shortage of other ways for you and your viewers to be able to donate to charities.

Anonymous

You will never please everyone Stephanie:-) Dealing with a global audience is a wicked problem:-). I would like to suggest you keep it simple. The channel you have is your Brand and represents the breath of your life, some love the variety of content which I do, others specific episodes. Let the viewer choose to watch an episode or not. U-tube has an agenda to drive peoples viewing habits. Not sure that's a great thing:-)

Anonymous

Iv'e noticed you have lost patreon money since following the advice of your YouTube 'manager'. Are you sure this is the right way forward? You were doing so well following your own heart and we followed along with you, I'm not sure this is the right way forward, your channel stood out because it was you, now it feels forced and not the same as before sadly x "If it aint broke, don't fix it" my Grandpa used to say, wise words! You had an organic, natural vibe, which is what drew people towards you, you yourself said it didn't feel right, and now I understand why I was feeling different about your video's too, listen to your instincts on that, before they have you doing advertising placements on your vlogs, then you will lose many patreons, which would be a shame for the Chateau's future!

Anonymous

I personally don´t think that splitting the channels is the best idea, like a lot of my fellow patreons already mentioned, your channel is meant to be a diary of your life and the things that interest you. It is wonderful as is. I think all of us can pick and choose the videos that interest us most. I really enjoy the mix of content. The only thing I´d remark is possibly rethinking the Chateau Unwrapped channel idea, I am certain there are a lot more environmentally friendly ways to donate to a good cause. <3

Anonymous

I love the variety of content, I do not recommend splitting the "diary" channel any further. We "like" you, we "follow" you Stephanie!

Anonymous

Have read many of the comments and agree with what looks like the majority. Don't split the channels the whole concept of chateau diaries is about your life which includes the chateau. The diversity of content is what makes it special and I don't find it confusing. It may help new viewers if you go back to having a standard introduction but new one which explains the basic concept. I liked the suggestion from Elisabeth to rename Sundays at the chateau as Sundays with the Chatelaine .

Anonymous

I am not comfortable with the recent requests to subscribe and like and you should go with your gut on this. Also please avoid the route that Anna and Philip have taken in having sponsors , this sounds so false when they are doing it and they have fallen down my list of favourites. As other people have said be wary of YouTube trying to persuade you down a route that suits them and not fundamentally you. If you want to improve anything please be more consistent in the times your vlogs are posted. There is nothing more frustrating than having to keep checking especially as it gets nearer and nearer to the normal showing time. If anything would make me unsubscribe it is that. I do understand that things happen but it has got more and more regular. A simple message from someone letting us know there is delay would help.

Anonymous

I love everything as it is. I like the diversity and your enthousiasm is the link between all that you put out. Just do what feels right for YOU!

Thanks for the update. We are both historians and absolutely love all the work you're doing at Lanade. You're wonderful, cheerful and sincere blogs are a delight! We hope to meet you in person someday. Take care. Continued happy times in Venice!

It’s very generous to ask what we all think, but it would make sense to take onboard the advice YouTube offer. Everyone has an opinion but these may weigh you down and hold you back. You seem like a very open person so listen to what they offer, you don’t know what you don’t know! I noticed when you suggested liking and I wondered about it, but then I though why not press the like button, especially if it helps! As a people manager I have noticed people say they don’t like change, but it’s usually a good thing. Don’t look back, look forward……and I look forward to your future direction whatever you decide.

Anonymous

Dear Stephanie, what ever you decide. I'll follow right along to every channel you make. I love everything you do. PS, I have been liking and sharing your channels since I can remember! I don't think there is anyone that knows me that I have not told about you.🤣

Anonymous

So I love all the content you put out and that is why I am a patreon ! Channel or Package “tweaks” to maximize viewer participation sometimes fail (Dan and cooking channel vs Dan Vlogs) and some times do great (American viscountess / Mapperton). It’s a journey and enjoy it. Just let me know what to subscribe to.

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie. Please keep things as they are. You know what you are doing, and people watch to see you doing things your way. Please sack the youtube 'manager' immediately; she works for youtube to generate more income FOR THEM.

Anonymous

As Katy Forster has already said; If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The diversity is what attracted me in the first place. I am also inclined to agree with previous comments about Chateau Unwrapped - maybe enough is enough, before you need to buy a second chateau to store it all!!

Anonymous

I enjoy the variety of content on your channel. I think it offers something for everyone. I will continue to follow and support you with whatever you decide. It was amazing to see Kat again I miss her 😊

Correct me if I'm wrong but the introduction and existing intro piece clearly outlines that this is about you (Stephanie) and your life as a chatelaine (and therefore, including the chateau). This is about your life living in France, in a chateau—but it is not about your life cloistered within the walls of the chateau! I have loved best your brocante journeys, your DIY, renovations in the Chateau, but your life as a chatelaine includes the relationships with other chateaus/chatelaines, your relationships with the people in the chateau making it the gem it is, the area/travel around the chateau, the produce around etc. So for me, splitting it into different channels seems less "life as a chatelaine and France". I like the way it is now. Most of us watching are also watching Dan's channel as it ties very closely with your channel and both together gives me such pleasure and insight into your lives in rural France. I love what you have done and keep on doing it. You and your team add so much to lift some pretty dreary times! x I have LOVED seeing Cat!!

I'd love to see your reaction regarding Dan's hard work in the pantry! You haven't mentioned it :)

This is a pickle. If it calms the masses, then make new channels, but in reality, there will always be someone who complains, doesn't get the reason for this channel, YOU, we want to see what you are doing, whether its in the Chateau, or visiting exotic places....

Anonymous

Do not change the content of your channel. Long-time followers are not confused and new subscribers will learn. I believe that at times Youtube managers don't give us the benefit of intelligence. I love your channel as is.

Anonymous

Hey Steph, I think the idea of splitting chanels is a really good idea. I am interested in ALL of the different facetts of your content(with a tendency of chateau content). Still it would seem more organised if you split it up, because as it is now it can be a bit confusing and with 2 chanels all the chateau content would be accessible in one place which also makes specific videos or projects easier to find in my opinion. Despite all of that it is completely fine either way and at the end I think the decision that feels best to you will be accepted!

Anonymous

Hi! I like the variety in the same channel as it shows the cycle of your life at Lalande. As your original intent to make a video diary for yourself, you share it now to the world. Whether it’s the vegetable gardening in the springtime, renovations throughout the year, opening the B&B, cooking, shopping and yes, travels, we would normally put it all in one place—either on a notebook, computer or video. Thanks for all the great content!

Anonymous

Stephanie, lovely to see you enjoying Venice finally. To your question, I think about Youtube's motivations, which are revenue based, so I wonder if splitting C.D. further really is natural or simply to suit Youtube's aims of eyes on advertisements? I personally would prefer that C.D. be kept whole and your side trips and travels are part of your life, so it seems like a diary is a diary, and not two diaries. You do what feels right for you. Best to you.

Hello Stephanie, I really enjoyed today’s update - it was fabulous seeing the Venice backdrop! Any chance to travel by proxy is wonderful at the moment! Honestly, I think - for me at least - it is better keeping the one main channel. I’ve noticed with other creators that one of the secondary channels tends to drop off, either in content or in subscribers. To me it seems as if there would be a reasonable enough crossover in interests that people in your current and emerging subscriber base would be happy to see the day to day life and the more focussed/researched episodes. I totally understand why the chateau unwrapped channel would be separate, however; and the new channel with Ollie. Something that I have been thinking about is that maybe you might like to consider either a summary at the beginning or perhaps an introduction of everyone. I don’t mean in a way that makes it artificial! I have been watching since the beginning of chateau diaries but it did occur to me that someone coming in now might be confused about who is who and drop out because of that :) And finally, while I’m dropping suggestions in the Suggestion Box (!) - it would be so lovely to see some more of the little chateau DIY projects, like your curtain-making from a while ago, Peacock Corner and the like, along side the bigger ones. Thank you so much! I hope very much to visit you all one day.

We love Kat! Hope she can return to the château. Love her sense of humor!

Hi Stephanie and all. My vote is to keep it as it is, it’s such a lovely channel and part of the charm is never knowing quite what your going to watch when a new episode is available - I loved the Art Pottery in SA - what an amazing episode. Also please be aware that the role of a YouTube manager is to grow your channel to help YouTube, not to grow your channel to help you. Please listen to your gut as it has got you this far very well!

Anonymous

Stephanie, I love it ALL! If separate channels work better for you and/or other people that's fine with me. Excited to see all of the videos of Venice, and with Ollie. Love seeing Kat. Sorry about Matt and wish him much happiness in the future. Well wishes to Ian and Peter(?). Also excited to see Davy's plans! Thank you so much!!

I too do not care for the "ads" Anna and Phillip have been doing. I recently saw ads on Life of Ryan too. Stephanie, please don't go that route.

I’m in the camp of keeping it together. It is GLORIOUS seeing other women have rich full lives that are not just one thing. Your vlogging helped you find and expand your purpose, so why should it become more narrow? I get that it’s not more work, but it feels like it’s about catering to complaints instead of bringing people along for what you do best and who you are. You delight in the deep dives into makers! You delight in explaining why this fabric for this item and the history of both! You delight in your chateau and in one’s others live and renovate! Why sequester your delight—and who you are—under the different headings? I believe in listening to wisdom, but also listening to your own heart. Who you are is this delightful mashup of the chateau and all the intersecting paths, artisans, and histories. To lose that would be heartbreaking. The Chateau Diaries is YOU at the end of the day. You renovating, you waxing poetic about toile or the Thermamix or rolling your eyes at ornamental grasses and diggers. I come for you, all of you. I support you, and then by extension the chateau. I believe in you and in your vision, but it’s not the vision for the chateau itself that’s most intriguing—it’s the way you’ve created home for so many. That’s the magic! You making a home that so many then claim as their own too. But it’s the full you that does this, not some fractured categories of who you are. Regardless, I support you.

Kaitlyn Metro

Hey Steph. Really don't like the idea of splitting channels. It will make more work for you and reduce the number of weekly videos on the main channel. Also want to just echo everything said about the channel being about your life, that's what I want to see on youtube. We get regular chateau updates over here and in my opinion if regular subscribers are wanting that content then they should come over here. Not demand you change the channel that is successful. Just my two cents.

Katie Roberts Art

Hi Steph, Oh so lovely to see you there in Venice and Kat too. Thanks for asking us our opinion. I like the mix of videos as is I think it adds depth to the Chateau Dairies to have the Sunday videos and the Chateau Dairies adds lightness to the other. At first I watched the Chateau Dairies only, (going through the back catalogue!) then I started to watch the Sunday videos - and loved to discover the depth of your knowledge and the historical information you shared. Without that I may have lost interest. They convey a different, more serious and academic side to you that I really like. It’s like a genuine life balance. We want you to go to or host parties, go travelling, socialise, try new things, share surprising things with us. Just like real life! That’s what I want anyway. Otherwise all the renovations would get boring! The arts and culture Is good for the soul and lifts the channel up from the level of ‘reality renovation show’ (which I love, but can be addictive, vacuous and dull) to something else entirely. I think aiming for ‘not confusing people is going for the lowest common denominator and can mean that things loose their unique flavour. We are far too often given that sort of thing these days through television and I think it doesn’t serve anyone but advertising but dumbs everything down. (Perhaps it serves advertisers to box up people’s preferences and sell them stuff. Remember what Amanda Palmer says ‘we are the media’ and make this what you want it to be! I think you should trust your instincts. Perhaps hold off on a decision. I think yours and Ollie’s channel is enough for now. That might compete with a separate one for Sunday’s if it was separate, or confuse further? I would keep keep things as they are with some stylistic tweaks. Making the content more distinctive. I wouldn’t mind hour long Sunday’s videos! I would also like to say how much i adored the Ardman video too. I am an artist myself and seeing the world class but grass roots production there was beyond inspiring. I learned so much that I never would have without it. I love the arts and cultural aspect of you channel and the diversity of your content. Sometimes, often in fact, I have found we learn the most from the things we would not expect to, or are not at first attracted to. The diversity of content is really important. I think that’s what the world needs more of not less. Good luck either way. Enjoy Venice and keep Kat forever!! We want Kat!! Big love. Xxoo

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie please keep doing what you are doing. It is a successful formula as the number of views prove. I personally don't want to be reminded every time to like and subscribe. I find it very annoying and unnecessary. Go with your instinct and keep it out of your vlogs. You do not need it. I love the variety of your vlogs and I think this has helped you to be so successful. Leave well aloneand don't change a thing. Above all don't listen to YouTube!

Anonymous

P.S. With the Château Diaries chronicling all aspects of your life, Chateau Unwrapped and your future travel channel with Ollie (with art and culture theme) makes sense to be separate as they have different creative intentions. It goes to show that when you start anything for the right reasons, success and the money will follow. I remember you talking in one of your vlogs about your Dad saying that to you when you first bought your chateau ❤️

Anonymous

I love the mix of videos as well! I don’t think there needs to be a different channel for each possible category of video. Creating a variety of videos is a cool way to bring many people into one channel/place. But mostly/ I trust you to do what feels right for your own business. If it feels right to you- I’m sure we’ll see that reflecting in your videos and we’ll following along with. ❤️

Anonymous

Based on what you've accomplished, who are we to tell you what direction to take next! Part of this is trusting you completely to make the right decision for LaLande, YOU and your Viewers! I say go for it Stephanie, follow your heart as you've done so brilliantly up to this point! I don't give a lot and give what I can but its yours to do as you wish!

Anonymous

You need help with the editing Stephanie. You spend far too much time away from family and friends. It is paramount you look after your health. I am sure Philip will agree with me.

Anonymous

I just read a lot of the feedback and I have to wonder if most even understand YouTube? Another channel can only benefit you and LaLande financially without changing the content, just where its located (More channels, more views, more followers = more $ for LaLande)! Again, you have accomplished everything up to now by taking chances and following your heart, please don't stop now becasue some people don't like a little change. ;-)

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie! One of the things that's so wonderful about the Chateau Diaries is that we all subscribe for one reason or another (the diary vlogs, the restoration works, the Sunday videos), but I think the audience stays because of you and the people around you. There's certainly a difference between the Sunday videos and the Diaries, but I really don't think it's as jarring or confusing as it may seem on your end. The Sunday videos are, after all, still a kind of diary-- you're sharing your interests and passions, all of which relate to the chateau. Most subscribers watch you for escapism and for beauty and I think that the mixture of videos is really wonderful because it means there's always a little surprise! Moreover, to separate the Sunday videos out onto a different channel might put further pressure on you to make sure you get a researched Sunday video out every single week. You've mentioned these are time-consuming videos and it shows through how much craft goes into them. I think the flexibility to skip the researched Sunday videos if you need to (you have so much going on!) is important to the creative process. I think the pressure to never miss one could become unmanageable quickly and I wouldn't want your passion projects to become a chore. And I would just say-- you do already have the Cadeaux channel. Two channels seems to work really well (especially because the content on Cadeaux is so different and because it's a charity channel), but three might be a bit much for subscribers (especially new ones) to keep track of. I think at the moment, it's very convenient to only have one place to look for and subscribe to for Diary/Sunday videos. But I think you also have a loyal audience and I think you will make the best choice! So pleased you have the advice of a manager to help you grow your channels!

Anonymous

I think the Sundays at the Chateau where you do a deep dive on a company or whatever should stay apart of the Chateau Diaries channel. The way you've done it so far has worked, I don't think dividing the content would give you better. HELLO Kat!!! Make sure you don't pile too much on your plate, stay healthy.

Anonymous

I like how it is, but I will support any change you make. Maybe just explaining the channel in a new Dan filmed intro could help. I will watch it all regardless. Best of luck

Anonymous

I have read a lot of the feedback and I do have a question for those of you who would prefer 'no change'? Does it make a difference to you that by creating a new channel, LaLande has the potential to almost double what it makes on YouTube (which means more positive changes at LaLande)? And think about this, all you need to do is click once more on the new channel. You've trusted her this far, why not support her with this if the growth potential is there? Its my understanding the YouTube channel is used for things at LaLande such as employees, food, expenses not voted on (or whatever) by the Patrons? I say let Stephanie do whatever she can to keep LeLande thriving! She's done pretty darn good to this point......

Anonymous

I think the Sundays at the Chateau are fun and generally appreciated. From what I've read, it seems like people tend to get more frustrated when the travel vlogs are a series of consecutive videos that replace the regular daily ones.

Anonymous

Hi Steph, although I can understand the marketing pow behind splitting the channels I'm not convinced that it will bring in more viewers . Perso, I never used to watch the Sunday videos, watched one by accident & then got hooked & I always "like" your videos. If it had been on a separate channel I would never have started watching them. There'll always be complainers ma belle. However, do what YOU feel is best. You haven't gone wrong so far. Bisous des Pyrénées-Orientales.

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie! I like the variety of videos but think the title of the Sunday videos needs a tweak since you often aren’t at LaLande. However, if the channel split will result in more revenue then by all means, go ahead!

Anonymous

I don't find anything confusing there, I love the variety and find it all interesting. Please continue!

Anonymous

Thanks for the update, that equipment will come in handy, although I agree Matt will be missed. I wish him the best. I chuckled every time you said "bigga digga" LOL!! I don't find the content confusing, I like the variety as well. Seems like it could be a lot for you even if its not filming any more content to add another channel. That of course is totally up to you. But also I would hope you would not lose subscribers from Diaries to go to the other channel🤷‍♀️. That being said, I'll follow you to every channel you create 😊.

Anonymous

I vote for splitting 😊

Anonymous

I don’t ever feel that you’re asking for likes and subscribers. To me, it’s a reminder that those things are there. I get so sucked into videos, I can forget to like it, even on channels like CD that I’m so invested in. So I always appreciate that message. As for the streamlining of the type of content on this specific channel, I do see how it could be helpful for new subscribers and retaining subscribers. I suggest you go with the expert advice you’ve received, in whatever way feels most natural to you, and then see how it goes.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie x I am so glad you're having a fab time in Venice (I love that city - once went there for a Harley Davidson Rally!!). Re your question posed - personally (and here's my two pennies worth) I do not get confused but if some people have found it confusing or do not wish to see certain content and if your new manager has advised, then I would say go with the separate channels. As it is said 'nothing ventured nothing gained' and if you find it doesn't work then go back to the original formula. If you don't give the idea a breath then you will never know the rest of the story.

Anonymous

Ps love to Kat and enjoy glass blowing x

Anonymous

I understand both sides of the 'splitting the channel' issue. I think one thing that would help if you split is to pay close attention to what you call the 2 channels so they are separate but new viewers can tell they are connected.

Anonymous

I am backing Phillip in the hope they find a new type of hedgehog on your land that can become a 'protected species'.

Anonymous

I would actually like to see more videos of shopping at brocantes. Which channel would those fit in?

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie. You know what's best for gaining more attention for your channels so I don't mind what you decide. I love all your vlogs no matter what - the variety is so exciting to me -its like opening a secret door - you don't know what you will find on the other side. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Anonymous

persenely i don't care if you have multuple chaneles, i would do what the manager seys.

Anonymous

Regarding the two channels. Personally, after watching for two weeks you can already see the rhythm of what content will be posted when. You mentioned it won't increase the amount of content you make so maybe speak with your manager whether that won't make you harder to find in the algorithm because Youtube likes channels that post very frequently. Are a few slightly confused subcribers worth losing momentum for?

Anonymous

"The arts and culture Is good for the soul and lifts the channel up from the level of ‘reality renovation show’ (which I love, but can be addictive, vacuous and dull) to something else entirely. " So true!

Anonymous

I love all that you do. I will watch whatever you post!

Your plan going forward sounds like I good one. I will likely sign up for the split off channel as well. Just don't take on so much that it gets to be overwhelming.

Anonymous

On the subject of a patron get-together mentioned in the video, I think it would be great for fellow patrons to meet, and enjoyable for them and Lalanders, but very few patrons live locally and Stephanie has previously stated that staying at Lalande overnight wouldn't be an option. This seems to be the main difficulty to me. The area is rural and not awash with accommodation options.

Anonymous

I will subscribe to all your new channels .

Nanette Davis

I enjoy all your content. It's too bad that there are some people that complain about the different video content, It seems like they could just skip the videos they don't want to watch...

Dear Stephanie, as someone who has seen you grow since day 1 when you were included in The Chateau Diaries DIY ! ie intro via Straw bridges ! What caught everyone’s imagination was your quest for Lalande ! A , to make a living doing B&B whilst trying also to fund the restoration and with some help from volunteers, in those days you hosted Opera rehearsals and did all the cooking ! We all became hooked on the life within the Chateau walls, never knowing what to expect other than see a way of life and appreciate your optimism , kindness and generosity !!!!! for you my dear gave an example of kindness, care and lightness of spirit, you shone like a Beacon, and all of that is your NO 1, now here we are all hooked on the Grand Salon, The Lake, The plans for the Chapel, now the garden plan, Nati’s apartment ,Gerrys too, Dan the gardener, Kirsty too ! a wonderful family Mummy, Percy, Gerry, Amoury and Nati, we all love seeing them all, Marie, Cat , Phillip, the family goes on and on, Davy, the tree surgeon, your glorious partners Nick and family, Michael Potts !!!!! That always should be the most important in my eyes ! But take advise from Utube, personally I loved the travels around the world, fellow Chateau owners Etc !!!!! perhaps two is the way forward, but I am no expert just my thoughts xx love Josie x

As I have read through the comments it looks like you have an even amount of people saying yes go ahead and split, no I like it as is, and whatever you think is best. Hehe. I will go with the keep it on one channel and people will figure it out through the playlists. That is what I did from the very beginning. I started watching in March of 2020. I love going to the playlists and rewatching some of your Sundays at the chateau! It was the Blue and white porcelain one that got me hooked after my daughter sent it to me. She has been watching you from the very beginning but rarely if never comments. That being said, I do watch every one of the Chateau Unwrapped and liked and subscribed there as well. I do get concerned about a split because of the content algorithm. The more content the better for that which worries me for your original channel if you split it. That being said, I just said a little prayer for you to be lead to what is best for you and Lalande. I will subscribe to whatever you decide to do and promote it as well. You are a doll! Much love to all of you as you proceed as you see fit. As a side note, I also subscribed to Manor and Maker and Dan’s channel because of you so people will find you no matter what I think! Hugs to you all.

Anonymous

Do whatever you need to do, as I will follow you if you separate off Sundays at the Chateau. Personally, I feel the putting those vids on Sundays already separates the content enough. I vote you carry on as you have been, but I support you whatever decision you make. If you end up with 5 channels, then they will all be on my favorites list! I love you all~~

Anonymous

I've just realized why I have felt a bit disconcerted watching CD recently - and why new viewers might be confused: launching straight into the video nowadays, without a welcoming opening feels like I'm being dumped mid-way into something. I've actually stopped it a few times and gone back to the beginning to see if I've skipped ahead by accident. A new short intro on what the Chateau Diaries encompasses is really all it would take to avoid confusion. As for the splitting, you might gain new viewers but you might not be able to retain them as single-theme vlogs would get repetitive quickly. I agree with an earlier commenter who referred to them, sadly, as turning into a potentially "chateau-reno-reality show". I've watched CD right from the beginning and other chateau vlogs. But I've dropped most of the others because they've eventually become same-same every vlog. It's the diversity and the unexpected mix-up of "what will Stephanie take us along with next?" that makes your channel so engaging. I commented earlier that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" and I truly believe that splitting that whole up will lessen the appeal overall.

Anonymous

Stephanie, whatever you decide, I'll follow you. BTW, I never get notified of what you post even though everything is on. And I'd love to meet you all in September if the opportunity is there.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, The growth in your channel has been amazing. I love watching all that you are doing at La Lande and also the many informative side adventures to other Chateaus and locations. I love to see the cast of talented characters that keep the Chateau alive and moving forward. Having worked in new and renovation construction projects and project management, I am well aware of the many challenges that you face and am happy to see the progress and camaraderie. Looking forward to your new channel with Oliver for different adventures.

Anonymous

So not sure if you will see this but I’ve been on YouTube as a viewer since almost the beginning, 16ish years. As someone who consumes most of her media from YouTube I say take their advice about asking for likes and subscribers. You do not come across as needy but as a professional YouTuber. You are a content creator and a damn good one. I literally can not wait to watch anything you upload. Some things I am more interested in then others but I watch either way because I enjoy you as a person and the people around you. On the subject of having another channel I personally do not think you need one but if that is what you think is best to grow then do what you think is best. I love you either way and you truly make me feel like I’m apart of your wonderful world.

Anonymous

I love your passion and enthusiasm. You're such a great presenter. I really like the way you explain exactly what is happening at Lalande and when and why. I think the mix of culture and everydy life at Lalande makes the content interesting. I don't necessarily think they need to be split into separate channels.

Anonymous

Don't take on too much!!!!! I love the variety of your vlogs, I never know what's coming and I love that. If you feel strongly you need to separate the La Lande video's from the travel/culture, etc videos, is it possible to add those to yours and Ollie's new channel? I realize a video is a video but if you will have a separate Patreon account, that's too much work. You have done explosively unimaginable well on your own with just your phone, don't let YouTube's manager (helpful) push you to do too much. YouTube is looking out for themselves first, always. Much love and sincerely thanks for all the joy you bring to so many,

Anonymous

I would name the channel "Travels from the Chateau" Or "Stephanie's Favorites"

Anonymous

As we say in the USA "If it ain't broke don't fix it. It is so perfect now! I'm loving being in Venice again and you made it happen , have a blast.

Anonymous

The travel/history/product content on Sundays is part and parcel of the Chateau diaries. People will figure it out. Maybe put an explanation in the description of the channel on the YouTube page.

Anonymous

Stephanie, I feel that the diversity in your content and your joie de vivre personality and curiosity are what makes CD so interesting to watch. I have tried to get into other Chateau vlogs and they are rather dull and repetitive. Don't want any new viewers to assume yours would be the same. I vote for no change but will follow you either way.

Anonymous

Also- My favorite You Tube channels never ask for Likes and Subscribers, refreshing and unique to not do so. The You Tube manager wants more viewers for profitability for YT. Your content speaks for itself, not necessary to follow all of the managers advice. Look at your growth so far!

Anonymous

I think I agree with most people here: I love your channel as it is. But if it helps to grow your YT appreance- go for it! I was not so much into the whole safari thing but I loved the ardmore ceramics which I wouldn`t have fought before watching it and thats one of the things I love most about your content. It gets me interested in things I would have never picked myself :)

Anonymous

You must do what is best for your channel...I personally think it should stay all in one. I do miss the intro at the beginning of each video. I also wonder why everyone needs a separate apartment? The kitchen is in dire need of remodel as it serves the entire chateau and many guests and cooks. I am not sure why it is not a priority?? I shall watch no matter where you post!!!

Anonymous

Completely agree. It's the variety and each person's personality that makes me watch. It doesn't matter where you are, I am watching because of you, your friends and family and everything you take on!

Anonymous

Well done Stephanie ….I will watch you on ALL the channels that’s for sure🤙🎬📸💕💕💕 It must be very exciting working with someone connected to utube & you have certainly earned their support. All the work progressing at La Lande is truly amazing…. there could also be a vehicle vlog at this rate! 😳🚜🏗🚜🚛… so exciting xxx

Anonymous

I agree with Lucia and LaVonne....one channel for all your travels should stay on one channel. Thank you Stephanie for taking us ALL along on your travels.

Just do what you think is best.

The choice as others have said is your decision. I don’t care for Unwrapped. For a variety of reasons. & depending who is participating I may or may not watch. I really loved the videos from Africa & all that entailed. The work you did on those was just amazing. I do like to see those types of adventures you go on. So I’m all in with you & Ollie. 😉. However there seems to be less and less of the actual work being done at the chateau being shown. ( understanding that it’s winter & well…cold) but as someone above said, Dan busted it on the pantry & I’m not sure if you’ve seen that or commented? Although I’m positive you did to him. I loved the forest update you did with the tree man. The fun with your Aunt & Uncle was great. That is the CD content I love. The Patreon videos when I first became a patron were very specific to what was going on & the progress. The recent ones haven’t been that. That’s a bit disappointing. The gardens are important of course but not (imo) more important than the chapel, for instance. Which doesn’t get mentioned often. You’re a bright light in some dark times, don’t let a corporation (u tube) take that away from you. As my momma would say, follow your heart always. Best wishes. ❤️. G.

Anonymous

I have to heartily agree that you shouldn't change a thing! The variety of content is what keeps things exciting and feels like we are all going on the journey of your life with you whether you are at the chateau, traveling or sharing amazing history with us. Having separate channels is sound advice but the different aspects of your life that you share on the single channel is what makes it so unique and so you, I wouldn't change a thing <3

Anonymous

I hope you will do what feels natural about the channels. I kind of subscribe to the theory that both areas together feed each other. I might love the Lalande aspects, and just watch the outside parts waiting to get back to see kitchen dancing, but find I liked learning new things about French churches or tripping around Venice! I DO! It's ALL your Diary, after all. And you are particularly gifted as a presenter/tour guide. I worry more about what might impact the product you give us currently. As much as the idea of you and dear Ollie together doing fun trips thrills me, I worry that you will burn out or, your private live will become non-existent and this will all have to be pared down. Is the new channel to produce content like, 3 times a year? This was so exciting, along with the vlog today. Great things to look forward to at our favorite place. Special frogs? Dan the Chatelain? Mon Dieu!

Anonymous

I can see why you'd think of separating for them, but personally, I like the 'magazine' aspect of your vlogs: a little bit of everything, so you get to see chateau, travels, etc. But ultimately, it's your channel, so you do what you think is right for you, as hard to make everyone happy.

Anonymous

I love all you do and I just find it rather confusing all those different channels. I prefer how it now is, Stephanie the chateau and all her adventures abrode , in France or in a fabulous factory.

Anonymous

If the YT manager thinks splitting the content will grow channel(s) further then why not. I subscribe to lots of the Chateau channels and get the updates, then I have them all in my notifications and can watch them at my leisure. The Sunday ones don’t need to be watched in any order usually as they are more ‘stand alone’ so a separate channel for folks with particular interest in travel or gardens or whatever, to dip in and out might make more sense. Exciting times ahead for sure x

Anonymous

Please dont change what you're doing. I signed up for what you do now. I like it all in one place 😊

I have left you a private message but to be honest ignore me I am listening to my Mum saying "Chloe stop being such a self righteous know it all" Live your life have fun, do no harm and enjoy. Loved tonights vlog I am relishing getting back into travelling.

Hi Stephanie, your channel is just lovely as it is. It is authentic. A gem which shines the many facets of your life and interests. Let the newcomers know in your introduction who you are, what you like and what you get up to in your diaries/channel. P.S. thank you for all that you share with us x

Anonymous

I will be here for whatever you choose to share with us & however you share it. I suppose you could have a “Chateau Diaries” channel & a “Chatelaine Diaries” channel if you want to have separate channels for content. But gosh, is it that hard to realize when you’re not at the chateau & just stop watching if you’re not interested? 🤔 But again, your gut is serving you well, do what you think you should do. You can always modify as you go. We shouldn’t expect you to never try something new. We learn & grow & that’s exciting. Thank you for the positivity in your videos. It’s impossible to not feel your joy & excitement about everything you share with us! xo

Hi Stephanie, Congratulations! You are a You Tube influencer! :) For my part, I was drawn to your channel for the Chateau Diaries. However, your personality, passion and message really resonated with me so I started to explore your other channels! I really love traveling, culture, history etc so the Sunday channel is great. I actually have purchased items from places you have been to and it's obvious you have a passion for this. It clearly comes through. I love a deep dive into toile ! :) I think at the end of the day it comes down to who your ideal audience is. You can have a couple of buckets here. I love the day to day at La Lande- it has filled a gap in my life. But going the extra mile with your Sunday channel is unique. I know this sounds a bit cliche, but if your Sunday channel brings you joy, and I think it does, then it is well worth it to drop some high quality content there. So jealous you are in Venice, by the way! I was there in 2016 and bought so many Fortuny pillow covers-the store was near the Peggy Guggenheim Museum - I had to buy more pillows!! Looking forward to your channel with Ollie!! xo

I don’t think anything is confusing with your videos on one channel. It seems more complicated to watch videos between two channels plus the new channel with you and Oliver. Some people just like to complain which that doesn’t have to be your problem. If they are interested they don’t have to watch. Do whatever feels right and authentic to you. Then I’m sure the right people who want to share in your creative adventure will watch, like and subscribe. Maybe one small change that can help big especially for new viewers is to update your intro... explain what viewers can expect from the videos you put out every week. Now that I think of it, you haven’t used the intro for awhile.

Anonymous

I feel like another channel will only create more work for you - more editing, more decisions of what goes where, more worry about who likes what, where. We started and stayed on this channel because of You and YOUR life. That includes Phillip, and Nati, and Dan and all of them and what they are doing, cooking, fixing, buying, playing, traveling and . . . . ALL of it. There are plenty of other channels that only concentrate on only one thing. Your channel is unique because we get it all. I hope you don't add another channel, but I'll be there if you do!

Anonymous

Amazing update! I only have one question (did I miss it?!): Steph, what’s happened to the CD intro??? I really miss it!! 😟😟

Anonymous

I love all the channels as well and even though I have subscribed, I still search “Chateau Diaries” or “Stephanie Jarvis.” I really love the chateau life AND the travel ones. You have wonderful positive energy that draws people to you and those around you. You give us all a thirst for cultural diversity and a positive outlook. Trust yourself and “do you.”

Anonymous

I subscribed and became a Patreon all because of the love and light of Stephanie! To me it doesn’t matter the content if it’s presented by Ms Jarvis. Yeah Stephanie!

Anonymous

Dear Stephanie, I 100% DISAGREE with splitting into different channels. I signed-up for the journey and full experience, as guided by your decisions, not some YouTube manager’s recommendations. I appreciate The Chateau Diary’s diversity of locales, topics, etc . . . Continue to build on your success for which you were the foundation. Sincerely yours, Bill E.

Anonymous

I'm game for any channel you set up. All fun. How about the name Chateaulaine Lifestyle or Lifestyle of a Chateaulaine

Anonymous

I can’t believe you even have to consider splitting the channels because of “picky inconsiderate” people. I’m for Keeping like it is Stephanie. Don’t let them put more pressure on you! Love your videos no matter where they are or what they are about. You’re such a nice person but you’ll never be able to satisfy the “complainers”. P. S. You look so pretty in the glowing sunlight.

Anonymous

Please don't create more channels! I am already annoyed about the additional gift channel and now this channel with Oliver. You're spreading your self too thin. Make the main channel about Stephanie Jarvis instead of chateau diaries. We're interested in Stephanie!!!!!!!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie - don't let the noisy minority make you feel pressured to change anything. I enjoy the variety.

Anonymous

As others have said, I'll follow whatever channels you come up with! However, I disagree that your content is confusing and should be split up. Everything you do is very on-brand, cohesive and creates cultured and educated escapism into your chatelaine lifestyle. Strategically, it is easy for subscribers to skip videos they aren't interested in, but it is harder to expose folks to the content they might not know they'd like if they don't even see it go by. Thanks for all of the joy you bring to all of us!

Anonymous

Thank you yet again for the way you do your videos. Personally I follow you Stephanie. So that simply includes what you do, who you interview, where you go and any other idea you have. I suppose I’ve chosen to put the emphasis on the ‘diaries’ and all that you choose that to include. ❤️👍😊

Anonymous

I will be happy to support you in whatever format you decide is best for your overall income. 😊

Anonymous

I also know that it’s all about you, your helpers, paid people who inevitably become friends, your old friends, us - your new friends - you are a family and we are all feel part of it because of you and your spirit of openness and inclusivity. Perhaps the real issue is that you are a one off - and present just the very thing most people want. Having it all in one place simply how it is and maybe new people just need more time to get that. I think you are ahead of the game. 🕊😊

Anonymous

The bottom line is that we want you to do whatever makes you happiest and is the less stressful option. ❤️

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie. We agree with others, we watch Chateau Diaries for you and everything you do. We love all of the travel, culture, history, etc as well as the renovations, gardening, cooking, parties and so forth. We love seeing the people coming and going in of the chateau. It's so colourful and interesting. We personally don't want more channels to keep track of, two are plenty and now you are going to make a third with Oliver. That's more than enough to follow! I think perhaps the naming of each vlog should give people an idea of its content and then they can choose to watch or not if they are interested in that topic. You are unique and that's why we watch you and not any other chateau vlogs anymore. You have become successful because of your uniqueness, not because you follow a set formula. It would be a shame if you tried to fit into a mould made by other people, your channel would lose something then.

Anonymous

Stephanie I trust your instincts implicitly. You consider things from all angles, you have a good team around you (chosen by you) including Michael, Nick and Oliver, your decisions have taken you this far. Also your approach of " we will see how it goes" is sensible. It was a joy to see Kat, there's a strong women with her feet on the ground.

Anonymous

I love you all. You GO girl!

Anonymous

I totally trust your judgment

Anonymous

How could I not! CD is the happiest place in all Vlogdom.💛💜❤

Anonymous

I enjoy all of the footage, I have no problems with the content...but you are approaching this challenge in the right way...get the options on the table, input from your team and friends, mull it over and make a decision. Good luck Stephanie.

Anonymous

I'm a subscriber from the very start of the CD, and I enjoy having everything on one channel. As others have commented, it is a simple matter to skip an episode if I'm not interested in the content. It is convenient to have one access point to your material. The eclecticism of your channel gives it inherent strength because it engages a range of viewers.

Anonymous

I suppose it won't make a huge difference, but I would probably keep the videos on one channel. But it is not a huge thing either way. Maybe some new people find it irritating if they are not used to the diversity of your content. (That is a plus for me, but possibly not for everyone.) Thank you for the video!

Anonymous

I’ve been with you from day one so it’s not confusing to me. Perhaps listen to the advice of the YouTube manager and ‘test thd waters’. ❤️

Anonymous

Stephanie, You have achieved more with an iPhone and your infectious personality than any other YouTuber who may have expensive gear or even a production team behind them. I watch your channels because of you, whatever the subject or place. Splitting your channels will split your sub's and views count. I think YT is only really interested in viewing minutes for their algorithm. Personally, I don't like the share and subscribe comment, it's not you and makes you sound like every other channel. Remember other peoples opinions are like armpits everybody has a couple. Trust your own instincts you're spot on. Well done. Don't become the goose that laid the golden egg for everyone else.

Anonymous

I have to disagree, I know I will sub and view any channel she has so this has the potential to 'double' her views and sub counts. Look at the extra money Chateau Unwrapped is making. This could be extra money for LaLande and all we have to do it click on one more video.

Anonymous

Thank you for the updates! It’s good to see Kat!!❤️

Anonymous

I've given a lot of thought to another channel and I, personally, think it unnecessary. I binged watched all your Chateau Diaries last Summer and was never confused. I might also add, that in binging as an escape from pending family funerals, I did little else. So imagine the pressure to catch up with the other channels! A Diary to me is musings on one's life and yours happens to take place mostly where you live: at a chateau. My humble suggestion is that you don't engage in misleading "clickbate" titles that I find frustrating and annoying on YouTube just to get more "like". I tend to unsubscribe to those. Besides, other vloggers that have too many channels tend to be repetitive.

Anonymous

I really don't think you need to worry too much about different channels, I like the mix and as there are no duff videos there is always something enjoyable to see. Please don't stress too much about it! Oh and how GORGEOUS did that Venice sunset look!

Anonymous

To be honest, I really enjoy the mix of different things on your videos. I think you are doing an amazing job. Can't wait to see you all in August.

Anonymous

I will follow any channel you have. And i think you should do What is best for you. Follow your gut feeling it has made magic so far😘 ❤️🏰❤️

Anonymous

So exciting all the changes coming in the future. I have never found the channel confusing or any of your content confusing. Although I will watch any channel you make. ☺️ I think the Sunday videos inform all the things you talk about in your diary videos. And you’ve taught me so much in those videos. I love learning from you about all the fabulous things you love. Happy to follow you anywhere you go.

IDEA: Present your one channel as encompassing YOUR PERSONAL BRAND as reflected in your curated DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHATELAINE vignettes for Christie’s. Stephanie, have you considered that your one channel perfectly exemplifies your personal brand which you so eloquently expressed in your curated Day in the Life of a Chatelaine vignettes for Christie’s?! Could that serve as a guiding inspiration that pulls everything together that is ALREADY contained within your channel, with perhaps the subtitle, “Day in the Life of a Chatelaine” or something similar? Your Christie’s vignettes reflect all that is uniquely YOU in your many roles as Chatelaine: Cosmopolitan World Traveler / Creative Visionary for the Chateau / Curator and Decorator / Business Woman / Gracious Hostess / Overseer of Projects and Renovations / the Chatelaine who Handles Any Scenario with Aplomb / Chateau Lifestyle Muse What draws people to your channel is YOUR LIFESTYLE as a CHATELAINE. The simple day to day scenes of chateau life can be the most captivating: a morning trip into the local boulengerie for the croissants / spontaneously deciding to paint your bedroom door the perfect shade of dusty rose / seeking treasures at the local brocante / decorating the cocktail corner and celebrating with a glamorous cocktail party before jetting off to Paris in the morning

Just a suggestion for managing your media presence. I just watched a vlog called ‘planning your week’ on Farmhouse on Boone You tube channel. Lisa is a full time blogger and blogger and outlines her way of handling her media output and the staff she employs to assist. Also how she schedules her workload on a monthly, weekly and daily basis. Lisa also has other videos on blogging and vlogging as well. This may prove helpful to you Steph. Also the idea of revisiting and updating previous content sounds useful too. For example, viewers may be interested in a new tour of the Chateau and then you could include room changes for each separate part of the Chateau and include before and after views using old content. I think if you can get your scheduling planned ( you may already do this. Hope I’m not telling you how to suck eggs! 🙄) you could introduce additional channels that would increase your subscribers and thus allow more staff to make your life easier but still retain your creativity and vision. Hope this helps.

Anonymous

I agree with Denise, the life of the châtelaine is your point of view and your viewers love that and it encompass all the things you do. Having Sundays at the Château define the two streams already. Do not split your channel please. My only suggestion is give more warning of where you are going. I can’t keep up with your movements, the first thing I know you are off in the car or getting on a plane. I like looking forward to your travels and being ready to come along for the ride.

Anonymous

Please keep the one channel. You’re doing so well and to me all of your content is interconnected. A possible solution would be to create different series within your main channel or organise the content thematically in addition to chronologically. It seems that the minority of people commenting about the incoherence might not have capacity to watch sequentially from the beginning, but need a different node of access to who you are and what you do. Kylie Flavell does this quite successfully on her channel, and each series reflects a different talent or aspect of her life, and these run concurrently to one another based on what’s happening at any given point in time.

Anonymous

I think I echo most who say ‘Stick with the one Channel’ as I too love clicking on Chateau Diaries and getting taking along for the ride 💫……. You’ve taken me to places I’ve always wanted to go and as your filming and presenting is so good I might not even now visit these places for real as you’ve filmed and shared so much it’s as if I’ve been there ❤️ I also echo the view that YOU are unique and don’t let Utube change YOU - remember why you started the channel 🫂 xx

Anonymous

I also like everything in one channel. And I think you're already pretty clear with the thumbnail what's a Chateau Diary and what's a Sunday video. Maybe you could separate the travel videos visually a bit more, while in the same place.

Anonymous

I think when you travel/aren't chateau-based, the videos which have a "meanwhile back at the chateau" element work best. I know this is more work but I do think that videos with chateau content are everyone's favourite. I wouldn't split the channel.

Anonymous

I hate the subscribe thing. Jonna jinton who has over 4 million subscribers has a youtube manager and she NEVER asks you to subscribe. Im sad to be honest, Ive seen a lot of wonderful youtubers over the years become icky money making machines and it frankly turns my stomach - i know this sounds dramatic but it feels in my gut so out of integrity that even if I love them I stop watching. You are receiving enormous amounts of money now each month, i can never understand why people sell out so much. You are a rare gem in this world Steph I really hope you don't sell your soul for the capitalist narrative . Youtube don't care about their creators, they will delete a channel in a flash if they feel it. Don't be fooled that they care about you , they don't. They as do facebook, Instagram , google, only care about profit. You might be a little golden goose to them that is all, and they have many golden geese. Honestly my advice, stay in your own lane. You've got a good thing going, don't blow it. Stay independent. Joe Rogan, Russell Brand became big because the people love them, not because a capitalist machine made them. Be careful Steph, very careful. You asked, thats my opinion x

Anonymous

Karen, your wording is perfect: "The Life of the Chatelaine is your POINT OF VIEW and your viewers love that and it encompasses all the things you do."

Anonymous

I love all of the content you provide and will follow all the channels you have.

Anonymous

The beauty of your channel is how informal and natural it is! It's a wonderful reflection of your life and travels so please never think it's confusing! I think it would be a hassle for your viewers to have to toggle back and forth between channels. It's a wonderful ride to follow your journeys Stephanie ❤️

Anonymous

My opinion...one channel works for me. I feel that they all flow and integrate well together. I love hearing about your upcoming travels and projects in the daily life volgs. I then look forward to your specific topic vlogs. Whatever you choose to do, I will follow. Your channel is a great respite from my everyday life. Thank you.

Anonymous

Please, do not split the channel. I look forward to your varied life.

Anonymous

Hm, you have almost 500 opinions so I guess you don't need mine, but I shall give it anyway. I like the channel as it is. It reflects your life, and you are indeed the essence. If it was not for you, I would not have been a patreon for more than 2 years. I enjoy all the different vlogs you do, and I loved watching Phillip looking for kebab in Venice as much as I enjoy seeing a spot of gardening at Lalande. The SA vlog was excellent. It is your chatter and bits of your life that does it for me, and you are interested in all kinds of things that I like too. So for me it is perfect to just see you doing stuff and presenting stuff, chat with your family and friends. I will carry on being a patreon as long as you stay you. I love seeing Lalande blossom, but at the end of the day I would not watch it if you left. There, that is my opinion!

Anonymous

i dont really see the point of two channels. you will then get complaints from people about having to watch two channels! people can always not watch any videos they dont like

Anonymous

Personally don't mind either way. If you split and have two channels, I'll subscribe to both.

Anonymous

I don’t mind where you are in the world I look watching either when your at home or away as you make everything exciting and interesting so if you set up another channel I will be subscribing lots of love to you all x

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie, I don’t know if you’ll read this far but please don’t change anything about the channel . Chateau Diaries is YOU no matter what you are doing or presenting, we see it through your eyes and it’s what I love most. 💕 I discovered so many places in the world and so many hidden beauties because of you, even if I originally subscribed for the château part. You can’t make every person on the internet happy, people will always have negative comments or preferences no matter what you do. I think you should just keep doing the same, just making sure to keep identifying clearly the more informative videos or keep them always on sundays so people can get use to it and watch what they like. Château Diaries is an inside look at the life of a Chatelaine …. and travelling the world, learning about french porcelain and buying diggers is ALL part of it! 🙃 ❤️

Anonymous

I think your channel is successful because of all the variety. :)

Anonymous

I love your Sunday vlogs and the diary content. Basically anything you film Stephanie ❤ if you split the content onto two channels I'll subscribe to both. I've been a Lady of Lalande since spring 2020 and I cant wait till the day I get to visit! Love you all. Ps I've re-watched the Ardmore vlog like 5 times because I love it so much

Anonymous

Personally, I don’t like the travel videos. It’s not why I’m here and I find it somewhat annoying. I ADORE you, but I’m not interested in travel and I’m not interested in having you as a travel guide. I appreciate that I’m in the minority on this one. I’m more worried if anyone has started sowing seeds in the greenhouse.

In my opinion it is great as it is. Please dont change the formula, what we love is the relaxed naturalness and the mix of chateau and what you are passionate about. It would just complicate things to have to search yet more channels. If people dont want notifications for certain things, just dont get notifications and then go and chose what you wish to watch direct, that is what we do, though we love it all. And please dont get 'over managed'. You must stay true to yourself - we are not here for a 'produced show' but something REAL and true. Its great that you have been so successful but please dont let youtube hijack that. Just keep trusting that it will keep growing as it is meant to.

Anonymous

I enjoy your channel as is, love the artwork specials you do, enjoy the travel too. I love the work at the chateau of course and this year should be very exciting. In my view, you don't need to change a thing. A 3rd channel on top of Chateau D + Cadieux is not needed.

Anonymous

Stephanie, I like your channel as it is now. I love to see you....

I think one of the truly magical things about you and your success with youtube is the genuine feeling of intimacy you have been able to create with us. I do wonder if separating into multiple channels, while also working with a youtube "manager" will lesson this connection. We have all been so engaged by the passion, creativity and honesty you have shown in bringing us into your life. The people at youtube's sole purpose, no matter what they say, is the monetization of you of your and your gifts. For example, I think your initial instinct of not asking for subscribers and likes was a good one. While on one level this is a silly thing to say, and of course if you really need to ask you should. I do think incorporating many more of these these "corporate" strategies can erode the humanity and authenticity that brought us to you. We all found you before and I am sure many more people will continue to without this. I am sure finding the balance to maintain as well as grow your success is daunting. I know for myself, and I am sure so many others, we will be here to support you no matter what.

Anonymous

I like all of the content you create. Some channels I watch sometimes do a topic I am not interested in. In that case I do not watch that video. Like any other “TV” channel I just chamge to other content. I prefer you do everything under one channel but I will follow you to any channel you create as well. Having said all of that I watch for your life stories no matter whether that is going to a brocante with Phillip, having dinner with guest of the Chateau, baking bread or cooking and cleaning up after. Just your life and the family and wonderful friends you surround yourself with. I will follow and support you always.

Anonymous

I’m probably not the only one to feel this way but when I’m watching Tge Chateau Diaries or Chateau Unwrapped, I’m really watching YOU. You and the other cast of characters who are the heart and soul of LaLande. As for me, there’s no need for separate channels. Most of us love your channel just as it is. I’d be wary of a corporate manager advising you to make changes to something that’s been wildly successful and lucrative for you. We have an old southern saying here in Georgia..,”If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, late reply, sorry I’m catching up. I like one Channel. Keeping it simple and all in one place is easier to find. The people on your Thursday and Sunday shows, flow into each other. Making it easier to follow conversation and updates on that person if you know what I mean. Sort of cross pollenating… like I said keep it simple….I will always watch your shows as they are informative and jovial 😆😊

You are pure treasure Stéphanie. Your videos are an important contemporary & historic service to France (& S. Africa). You are well on your way to becoming a national treasure. Hi Stephanie, sorry for late reply, catching up. I love everything you do. Your passion is uplifting. If you feel it is best to have another channel I’m very happy to support you. Dear Stephanie, You don't have to change anything. I love it as it is. Thank you for beeing you and what you give to all of us - Life, love and laghter....

I think you should keep the channel as one but have two introductions … one for Chateau Diaries talking about life as a Chatelaine in France and one for Sundays with the Chatelaine (great name suggestion) which talks about the Chatelaine’s exploration of culture, travel and art. That way you are not diluting your subscribers but are providing signposts so people can pick and chose (just as you did here on Patreon with the general update and then a specific gardening update (in case people are not that bothered with the detailed gardening plans)). Just a thought x

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie I am a new patron but have watched you faithfully for about a year. My opinion may not matter as much but I would keep it just as it is. It is Chateau DIARIES.....my diary is a daily account of my life that is just too yummy to forget(not all that yummy some days) but it all goes in there. If I had one for fun stuff, one for boring stuff, one for tears and one for laughs that would defeat the purpose and it wouldn't be as special. All of it is you and that is why we watch. Hope that helps some. Sage advice from the newby ☺️Anita

The boys must be sooo excited 😀 new toys!

Anonymous

Hi! I have watched since the very first video and I think you should just keep one channel. The people who do not like travel or the various Sunday videos simply just do not have to watch the content that does not interest them. Now with that being said, if you feel that it would make it easier for YOU - go for it. I’ll definitely subscribe if you’re involved. Love from Dallas xoxo 💕

Anonymous

Long time subscriber and patron here…keep it all on one channel. You’ve done a superb job at changing the thumbnails and categorizing the videos on your channel so people have opportunities to search for the videos they want to watch. Honestly I don’t watch all of the Sunday ones when they come out right away but that is more about my headspace in the moment than it is about you catering to what I want to watch. People are usually subscribing to the channels because of the people, not only the content. You are all these amazing things rolled up into one person so sharing you is what people are subscribing to. Always keep beaming Stephanie!!

Anonymous

You are definitely are the hardest working YouTuber that I watch. I think you should should keep Chateau Diaries as one channel. I’m afraid you will water down the significance of the art form that is your channel. It’s rich with beauty, charm, content and it is unique. I think all that would be needed It a short introduction on what is shown on Sundays. Sundays have been some of my favorite shows. I thought traveling to different places would be up my alley, but I think I got used to lockdown and the comfort I got from being in the safety of La Lande. One of the things I love about you is your impeccable taste and the decisions that you make to bring the Chateau back to its former glory. Continue doing you because you know best.

Anonymous

Chateau Diaries and Sundays at the Chateau belong together, I would be sad to see them split up, it brings a great balance to the channel.

Anonymous

I will jump on the bandwagon as well and say there is NO NEED to split up your channel. Much simpler just to keep it together. But if you feel you must…I’ll follow you there.

Anonymous

Stephanie- We we’re drawn to your channel initially by your life and enthusiasm for the château. We have been followers now for almost 2 years. Your interest in culture, travel, architecture and history add to your channel’s appeal because these other videos enrich our understanding of history. We do not believe you need to split your work into 2 channels but we will continue to follow you on as many channels as you decide upon! All the best to you and your amazing team. Oh and P.S., it is so common for YouTubers to ask people to like and subscribe we don’t feel any differently when you do it. Also, giving due regard for the value of a YouTube manager, please always remember that your authenticity and originality are the stars of the show, we know you will always be true to yourself.

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, I don't see the need to split the channels and it would be much simpler if you didn't, I would also like to offer my opinion on the changes you've made recently as you've asked us to. I personally don't like the asking for likes and subscribing or the increased number of ads. I know that this is a business for you and so appreciate why you are doing it. I was drawn to your channel initially in part because of its "home-grown" nature and because you didn't do the things that I everyone else does. For me its lost a little of its originality and charm now. I also miss the intro! I will continue to watch your videos (albeit with a tinge of wishing we could go back to how it was) & support you as a Patron. I trust you will appreciate the honest feedback, very best wishes xxx

Anonymous

Having watched you from the beginning, my choice would be to keep as one channel, I love Chateau Diaries, and all it encompasses, in the chateau and outside. It is your enthusiasm and personality that makes it all work. I also love chateau unwrapped, and the ethos behind it. If some people have a problem with it, then they would probably have a problem with many things 😉 Just stay true to yourself, friends and family and I certainly appreciate you sharing your lovely LaLanders ❤️ you have honestly inspired me and changed my outlook in life, during covid and the loss of my parents this year. Thanks you for all you do xx

Anonymous

New patron here, throwing in my two penneth. One of the things I love about the Chateau Diaries is that it is more than just another renovation channel. I get bored of those pretty quickly. Sundays at the chateau is one of the key differentiators for your channel and I think it would be a shame to separate it. If people can't handle the 2 streams of content then they can always just ignore the notifications. It's not that hard! Re asking for likes etc. I think it's OK to do that as you are now doing as a "sign off". This is your livelihood and people need to be realistic about that. I wouldn't like it if it was in the middle of the vlog or started to come with paid promotions. That would really change the nature of the channel and might be short term gain for longer term loss. Your YouTube business manager is working for YouTube not for you and if your gut tells you something isn't right don't do it. It's the sort of growing pains many small businesses have to deal with and you can't please all of the people all of the time. The most important thing is to be true to yourself.

Anonymous

I would say keep it as it is. My fav part is the diaries. I occasionally watch a Sunday one if it interests me. But I don’t care if it’s on the same channel. I just don’t watch if not interested. I don’t watch unwrapped. Love the charity portion just don’t find it interesting. I also only watch about 1/3 of the Patreon videos. But I’m a long term Patron and don’t intend to change that because I love the diaries so much. Can’t wait till it goes back to two a week ( very glad you have taken a tiny break, would hate to see you burn out).

I’m sure I’m the last person to comment (I’ve been on work overload.), but, for whatever it’s worth: I will tell you that I would watch your channels if there were two or twenty… because, as much as the content interests me (all of it, honestly), I watch because of the light and love and energy and knowledge and passion YOU bring. That being said, I’d PREFER you not split into more channels, but I’ll follow along, regardless. 😊

So much goodness is gonna happen at LaLande. 👍🏼 However, I’m so sorry about Ian & Peter and out of commission. Here’s to a quick recovery. Also, so sorry for Matt the digger. But out of his unfortunate, you not only get new toys for the boys, lol, but help Matt out. Yeah! Get to see Kat longer.

I think the separate channels make sense! I liked that you did that with Chateau unwrapped. As I do love you opening gifts up its not always what I want to see - so If I do want to see that, I head over to that channel and I know what to expect. I do often share your channel with other people so they can see why I love it so much so the separate channels will help others understand what the channel is about more! You'll also be able to have more focused, loyal fans and consistent viewers with the separate channels. (I work in the music industry in Nashville so our Artist's go through similar problems as artists are now content creators!) Would love to help in anyway I can! (:

Sounds like a great opportunity, being able to work with the Youtube manager and things like asking for likes and subscribes is not impacting the quality of the videos. However, I think it's better keeping it as one channel. It feels more engaging having content come out several times a week, rather than let's say one video per channel/week :)

Hey Stephanie, I am a bit late to the party, just catching up on Patreon videos. I think you should follow the advice of the YouTube person, they are the experts. For me personally, I like to see all of the videos, so I would subscribe to a separate channel and there would basically be no change. I think people fall in love with the fun and enthusiasm of you and the other “cast members” and enjoy learning about style and culture because of that. I worry that people will find one or the other channel and not realise that both channels exist. So it might be good to ‘cross sell’ them during the videos… which makes me think it is not worth splitting. Having said all of that, I would still take the advice of YouTube. Well done and keep up the great work

Separate channels would be a very organized approach. Great idea!! 🤗

I like seeing all the content on one channel. I don't understand why people simply can't opt in or out of what they want to see?

I love to see everything you put on you tube The diaries are about your life , so everything you show on you tube is part of your life !! So for me you don’t have to split in separate channels

Hi Steph! Just catching up with the Patreon videos. Most of the other patrons have weighed in in much more detail about whether or not you should separate the vlogs, and it’s possible yon have already made the decision as to what direction you have decided to go in, but please don’t separate the vlogs. I love the variety you bring every week, and while we primarily watch to see what you are doing with LaLande, and we of course support that with our patronage, it is wonderful to see what else is happening in your life. One video please!

Hi Stephanie! I have watched every video on your Chateau Diaries channel and I love both the Chateau Diaries at home and your travel vlogs! I watch on my tv app, so I do not get notifications so that does not impact me. I will watch all the videos on one channel or I will switch between your channels to watch the videos. I especially love the travel vlogs since I haven’t been able to travel to Europe for the last two years due to COVID.

I’m not sure how anyone would be confused about your offering culture and history as that is something that you have done since day 1 and a huge part of why you and your channel is so wonderful. But, as long as it is not more work for you(very important point!!) then, I welcome another Stephanie channel to add to my collection!! ❤️ I look forward to the long awaited travel channel with Oliver! The bottom line, as long as you and those around you are having fun and being happy- I am all for it!!!

To be honest. It's fine as it is with just the two channels. Noone can keep everyone happy. Your true subscribers are here for you no matter if your here or away. Please don't change it . Your channels are fine as they are x

I also like to see all content in one channel. The diaries is about your life and not only about the chateau. But feel free do it in your way. <3

I trust your decision about multiply channels. You do you and I will follow wherever you go💓

Hi, Stephanie, I will happily follow you to multiple channels if that is what you decide, but I prefer everything to be on one channel so I don't miss things, and so everything is in one tidy place. Even with as much as I ADORE both the YouTube and Patreon pages, time gets away from me and I get behind on one of the other. So keeping up with more channels, even though it is the same amount of content, does feel daunting. My fear for you is that managing multiple channels would still create extra unexpected work for you. You have only so many hours in the day and only so much mental space to keep all the plates spinning. So just remember we all want you well taken care of too, regardless of YouTube algorithms! But whatever you decide, I shall happily support. We love you!!

I miss the indepth coverage of Lalande changes that we used to get on Tuesday as well as the Thursday one. Over the next year or 2 I expect that there will be a lot of progress going on and that is my #1 preferences. The Thursday video is not enough to feed my hunger. I think you are one of the best presenter or host on YouTube and I am concerned that if you spread yourself too thin that you may lose your sparkle.. make sure you consider your needs and not get too influenced by YouTube who want you to make more money so that they can make money off of you. You are an intelligent woman who makes good decisions and I know you will follow the right path for you. My perfect path would be to get the Tuesday video back and have Oliver take more of a lead role on the arts and culture side

I would follow everything you do whatever way you go! Love you and support you Stephanie!

I love all the content you share. It's nice to see it all in one place. It's sharing different aspects of your life and your passions, I don't feel you need to have separate channels. I think when they have different headings it's enough.

Hi Stephanie, new Patreon here :) as this video was a while ago, i presume you have kept it to one channel which i love!! cant imagine not being inspired by all your videos. maybe just a thought, if people continue to be somehow confused, you could have a small intro to sundays that says something like ''hi there welcome to sundays at the chateau, my weekly extra content for you on culture and life in france'' - when i very first found your cannel i wondered what the different videos were but only for a day and i didn't know how to use youtube back then either. you have different playlists for your videos so its simple when you look at it like that. your Ardmore video was absolutely incredible - could have been a tv special! the fabric design house videos were also so inspiring.
