Hi, This is Muchi.

This week in Japan, we entered the period known as "Obon".

Obon is a period during which the spirits of ancestors are said to return. Although it is not a national holiday, people often take a break from labor and spend time with their families during this period. This is also the time of year when people often visit graves.

An interesting custom that can be seen during the Obon period is called "ShoRyoMa"(spirit horse).

Cucumbers are decorated to look like horses and eggplants are decorated to look like cows, to help the spirits of ancestors move around.

When the ancestors come here, they use the horses to return quickly, and when they go back to the other side, they use the cows to return slowly with a lot of baggage.

Because the whole nation is on holiday, many traffic networks are congested. And this year we had a big typhoon, which caused a lot of chaos.

We are staying indoors, hoping that the congestion will ease up a bit.😏

We are getting very close to the end of the production of our latest work. However, we need to get started on new work, so we will need a little more time. Thanks to all of you for your patience, and we hope to see you again soon. Stay tuned!💓
