So Many Ways to Sit + Integration of Steam Features (Patreon)

Different Ways to Sit in Paralives

In Paralives, just like in real life, people will often be sitting. We thought it was important to support many ways of doing it because it will be a common action and it can show personality.

So many ways to sit!

1. Sebastian casually sitting on the arm of the couch
2. Maggie sitting in a standard fashion
3. Eli being a child and goofing around
4. Marvin sitting just like Maggie
5. An anonymous Para sitting on the floor with their legs folded on the side
6. An anonymous Para sitting on the floor with the legs in front

All these sitting animations are dynamically adapted so that characters of any height can sit on object of various elevation, like Anna explained in a previous Patreon post with this image:

How different characters of different heights use the same animation that we dynamically adapt to avoid any issues.

Steam Workshop, Steam Cloud Save and Steam Achievements

Étienne is currently working on various features that you will be able to enjoy when the game releases on Steam in the future.

Steam Workshop

In Paralives, it will be very easy to share houses, characters, mods and other types of custom content with other players. What will enable this is the Steam Workshop, a place where you can navigate and search for content and add it to your game in one click!

The Steam Workshop page for Cities: Skylines. Search and browse content then simply press the green “+” button to add something to your game. This is exactly how it will work for sharing and installing custom content and mods for Paralives.

Steam Cloud Save

When enabled, this handy feature offered by Steam and that we have now integrated in Paralives backs up your save game in the cloud automatically. This means that if you have multiple computers, you can switch between them and you will be able to resume your game where you left off on your other computer, without having to manually transfer the file or do anything yourself! It’s also useful if your computer breaks down and you forgot to back up your save files.

Steam Achievements

Achievements are specific goals that the game will offer you to complete. Steam will list these achievements so you can compare your progress with your friends who are also playing Paralives. Étienne managed to make the system working with two test achievements already functional. We’re looking forward to having all sorts of goals for all play styles!

For example, here are some achievements we might add to Paralives eventually:
▶ Play through 3 generations of Parafolks
▶ Accumulate 1,000,000 Paradimes
▶ Make 5 new friends in a single day
