See the Usuba guy saying to Miyo oh your fiance is already back to work Manipulative snide remark every time he talks. Her mom did seal her power I guess because she didn’t want Miyo to have anything to do with her family. She knew they were manipulative and toxic; she didn’t want them around her daughter. Next episode we get a backstory but I wouldn't 100% trust what they say. I guess they will twisted everything in their favor.
