Healthy young person goes to doctor, carbonizes epidermis with plasterer's radio-style application of tretinoin, undergoes cellular turnover and changes - AUTISM. Many such cases

hey! I live in Japan and here on the news they show us how to manage mask acne & stuff basically wash your mask as much as possible &/or use folded disposable tissue as a layer between your skin and the mask, then switch out every once in a while throughout the day. also they found that the mask really dries out the skin so spray on toner every once in a while to maintain balance of moisture throughout the skin and to avoid dry spots & dry red mask nose.

ive done thicker bandanas. also makes you look like a neo-plague doctor, so—bonus

Liked the bit about left aesthetics being a disaster, they truly are.

Differin gel (over the counter retinoid) is a true life saver. I’m 30 and pre covid dealt with awful cystic acne and big pores and retin-a was always too strong no matter the low percentage. My skin would flake for months. Differin is much more gentle with similar effects and no purge. Takes about 2 months to fully kick in but works wonders. The Ordinary Peel is also great so keep breakouts at bay and to chemically exfoliate.

My mexican dad will complain about his neck, drink a little to make it feel better, and then complain that his neck is too loose. Dads just love to complain

These film reviews were a true public service. I watched them both thanks to this. Please keep doing this!

There’s a Philip Roth quote: in America, everything goes and nothing matters. In Europe, nothing goes and everything matters. Circa Cold War

LOVE your breakdown of Hardcore. It really speaks to the underrated genius of Paul Schrader. Please unpack American Gigolo, The Comfort of Strangers and The Canyons, immediately, if not sooner.

Loved this episode. Also wrote a anime script. But it turned into 500+ pages so now I don’t even know what to do with it. Think I’m just going to go back to writing about the black hole that resides in the lake of the small tourist town in the mw in which I live.

Have you tried Visual Novel Maker? (Or TyranoBuilder or Ren'py, if you want more customization.) I've never tried it and I'm not well-versed in anime, but it might have the look you want. For hosting/sharing the file I recommend Itch.io.

Really loved this episode

Really great episode. Hardcore is such a great and underrated film and Paul Schrader is my hero. The relationship between George C Scott and Niki is one of my favorites in movies. The most daddy issues because I think they both get out of each other what they’re missing (her a father, him an appreciative, even admiring, daughter). I had never heard of Little Vera so I was glad to watch it for the first time. It did pair well with Hardcore. So interesting to see thawing Soviet life. The urban decay of Moscow in that matches the late 70s stagnant and decadent SF. I digress. Really enjoyed the episode. Would fully back Anna & Dasha becoming the Siskel & Ebert of podcasting.
