Heya peeps, Scriptor here with the dev new bulletin!

Game development

I’ve officially started with the coding/writing phase: Having wrapped up the remaining rubber flower fail-state images yesterday, together with some small left-over shots (and revisions) for the other upcoming scenes. I’ve also made a small introductory scene for the farmhand (cowgirls) common enemy; since I felt that (like most other common enemies) they deserve their own small introduction in-game as well. Originally planned to do this with bust images and a small event on the 2D overworld map, but instead I made it a full (albeit short) scene: In which they’re chasing down an unfortunate NPC right before Kathleen’s nose…


It's up to Kat (and you) if you’ll help the poor damsel in need; though Jack’s quick to remind that it’s not a “real person”, and in his opinion Kathleen shouldn’t put herself in danger for those. That said no good deed goes unrewarded, so it might still be in Kathleen’s best interest to help the poor damsel… Though the farmhands are always looking for MORE heifers to add to their stables. 😏😉


Anyhow those images have been setup and put in the render cue as well; and have been rendering out since today’s early afternoon. Rest of the afternoon I’ve been busy mapping in RPGMaker MV; getting the base entry point for the woodlands “dungeon” ready (which is also where the shortcut after this section will link back to for easy back-tracking). Plan for tomorrow (and Friday) is to finalize this map, write and implement that introductory scene described above, and also write/implement the farmhand battle. That way I can focus next week on the farmhand’s escape sequence and (hucow) fail-state. 💪

And today we’ve got teasers of the farmhand introduction scene! With two farmhands hot on her tail, a NPC peasant girl is doing her damn hardest to not become the newest addition to their hucow stables…

Though unfortunately for her. the farmhands have got quite adept with catching fleeing soon-to-be-heifers! Needless to say it’s all but guaranteed that she’s going to wind up a shiny, mindless hucow…

That is, unless SOMEONE comes to the rescue! That said the farmhands are hardly going to let their prize go without a fight, and losing to them means, well… Let’s just say that you need to careful that a rescue mission for one damsel doesn’t turn into a rescue mission for TWO damsels. >;3
