So we're all hard at work on the next update. Hopefully this one is just as content-heavy as the update for Carl was. We'll also be seeing more sprites from Scratch and an illustration or two from Stranj. You should anticipate that this update will come out on the last week of this month. We'll also be quite a bit more active on Patreon this month, so be on the lookout for a bunch of extra stuff, including exclusive artwork from Scratch (see preview attachment), a short story for Flynn, and a few more polls.

As for the most recent update, what did you guys think? We got a little less feedback than usual and we're curious as to whether or not you had any feedback, positive or negative? If so, please post below and we'll read it all.

Anyway, hope you're all having a great weekend. Take care!

I'm still waiting for my friend to be available to read through the new update, but I'll let you guys know what I think tommorow or so c:

There is definitely a lot to process in this update, upping the eerie factor to 10. I'd say parts of this would be legitimately terrifying to someone who isn't desensitized to horror tropes. Some of the transitions between segments are a bit abrupt, but fits with the whole non-linear flow so not immersion breaking. Ultimately very enjoyable overall. Also like the sneak peek, interested to see what leads to that point.

I actually just got finished with it. Pretty great overall, definitely had me hooked even though I'm not Carl's biggest fan. A couple of the days (Friday?) seemed much, much shorter than the others, though, if I'm remembering correctly. And there may have been a couple minor continuity errors here and there (example: Chase promised for a second time to go on a hike with TJ-- you'd expect him to at least acknowledge that he was bailing, again, at some point during the week.) Glad to hear another content heavy update is on the way. Keep up the good work.

I feel that the update was, A little short, i was able to finish it in 30 minutes and some faster readers might do so in less, but, i understand that it can be hard work, for i have written before and it takes me forever to come up with a story or much less what to say. But I'm really looking forward to what happens next, cause i feel like the ending so far is very much short and at a end that does not seem right.

After playing through all characters stories, I felt there was a lot heavier focus on Carl's story as well as substance, as opposed to the others (being my least liked character it may have just felt that way) it did however feel a lot more intense and riveting in terms of content, the level I would have expected seeing in Leo's story given he's trying to win back the otter. Doing a great job at hooking the player and drawing them into the game. Not sure why the chase/Leo convo outside the motel was cut (I loved that part, made ,me all squishy inside) New character designs are impressive. Overall however I'm thoroughly engrossed in the story and eagerly awaiting the next update. I kinda feel like the guy camping outside the bookstore for the next Harry Potter book.

I also found the Carl story intense and I'm now questioning everything I'm seeing. It reads more and more like a horror story where something terrible is going to happen. While the scary atmosphere keeps me on my toes, I'm hoping for a break of it and seeing Chase have a breakthrough in getting to Carl to move forward with his life.

COMPLETELY agree with your feelings on the Chase/Leo motel conversation. I loved both that part, and the art that came with it. I thought it was a stellar scene and was the first real moment that I was invested in the game.

Loved the latest update. Learning about the backstory of the town is interesting and the horror elements are effectively creepy. The only real negative I have with this VN is the removal of that motel parking lot scene. I thought it was a really nice moment between Leo, Jenna, and Chase, with the 'OG Crew' catching up on old times. As it is currently, Chase walks out into the parking lot, makes a few observations about the town, and then leaves, with the dialogue Chase shared with Leo being crammed into the part after the group fight. The scene was one of the more stand out character interactions, so I find it a shame that it was cut. Otherwise, this VN is pretty fantastic and I can't wait to see what's coming up next along with the upcoming Flynn short story.

Hmm. Next week is the last of the month. Any chance we'll be seeing that short story any time soon?
