For the Atlantis transporters, I didn't notice it at first but they use the same sound effect as the ring transporters & behind the glass on the door you see a white light just like the rings. The implied idea was that the transporters on Atlantis were an upgraded version of the rings like the Pegasus gates are an upgraded tech to the Milky Way gates

The Ancient hologram lady mentioned that the Atlantis stargate is the only stargate that can open a wormhole to earth. The reason they can now turn off the power is beacause when they first arrived the ZMP was the power source, now all power comes from their own generators and so they can control it.

This was a good episode. This show wasn't quite my first experience with Stargate as I had seen a handful of episodes of SG-1, but this was my main experience with Stargate, as I was working at a video store and they allowed me to take movies home for free and they had the whole first season of Stargate Atlantis. So one day after having looked at it on the shelve several times, I decided to take it home, I watched the whole first season and loved it, so I bought the second and third season on DVD then watched the rest as it aired on TV. I then started SG-1 but only ended up watching the first 3 seasons. I kind of stopped watching it, mostly because I knew how the series ended and I always lose interest in watching something if I know what's going to happen. I was looking forward to your reactions to Atlantis since I love the show, but now that I've seen a few of your reactions to Atlantis, I'm definitely going to watch your SG-1 reactions as well.

In the pilot episode, Teyla said that some of her people, for some unknown reason, can "sense" the Wraith. Apparently, Teyla is one of these people which is how she knew the creature wasn't a Wraith.

Ok you apparently forgot about the fact that Sheppard made a screen appear on the Puddle Jumper by merely thinking of it ...The Puddle Jumpers have "TVs" Froots ....Ok... They're transparent ...But slap something solid behind it and you could use it as a descent TV 9. So as I stated in the notes for the pilot ...There was another thing I would point out about a visual effects fuckup .......Little known fact ...Back when Atlantis first aired and I was a frequent lurker on Joseph Mallozzi's webblog ...I noticed a fuckup in the intro ...The last shot of the intro showed a shot of Atlantis on the water but there were some polygons missing on the pier on the right of the screen ...I pointed this out to Joseph in a comment.. He thanked me and it got fixed a few weeks later ...IF one would be able to find the OG Syfy aired version of some of the very early Season 1 episodes I'm sure one could still see the fuckup ...It obviously got fixed in the bluray version that I've provided you with 10. You about the intro: "That looks like something I could throw together in like a day" ....Geeeeetttt the fuck outta heeeeere with that shit Froots ...No fucking way you'd be able to make an intro like that ...Prove me wrong ...You won't 11. What you're saying made no sense and this is me we're talking about ...I speak fluent Shannan ...McKay ofcourse would still be able to pick stuff up and touch things ...The shield didn't make him phase through stuff.. Funny how Sheppard claims "We're very cautious intergalactic explorers" ...Yet we've been in Pegasus for like 5 minutes and we've woken up The Wraith 13. Weir assumed that Atlantis is the only place that can dial Earth cause that's what the hologram said in the pilot 14. Sheppard telling the Athosian kids stories about Jason and Freddy probably didn't scare them much or at all... We're not talking about kids from Earth here who are just total pussies... We're talking Athosian kids who have lived under the constant fear that The Wraith will come and cull them all ...Some dude with a hockey mask or a burned guy with long knives for fingers isn't gonna scare them 15. No.. Halling is Jinto's father ...And Halling is just a friend of Teyla ...She is not Jinto's mum nor is she romantically involved with Halling ....Teyla is just concerned cause she's their leader 16. The power on Atlantis miraculously turned on in the pilot cause the city was running on it's last bit of energy from a ZPM ...After the city rose to the surface the ZPM was depleted and the city now is powered by 5 Naquadah generators as we could see in this episode ...That's how they are able to shut off the power completely now without it miraculously turning back on by itself 17. Beeteedubs... Random side-note.. The device used to trap the shadow entity... We've seen that prop before ...Remember the lame episode in Season 6 of SG-1 where Jonas and a bunch of other people started seeing bugs appear out of nowhere cause SG-1 brought a device back through the gate? .....Same prop 18. Interesting how both SG-1 AND Atlantis this week we dealt with a wandering ghostly cloud and guess how we dealt with them?? We sent both of them to their own crappy world 19. Good question on how many MALPs Atlantis has ...We know from the pilot that they have at least one ...We also know they sent one through the gate and it ended up floating through space after it exited a gate in orbit of a Wraith planet ...They COULD have retrieved that one and maybe that's their only one ....We don't know I suppose ...And perhaps we'll never find out
