If I've told you once, I've told you twice... Once Upon a Time's twists are phenomenal and there are so many you just don't see coming. I really like this episode a lot, because there were so many big reveals and it leaves you sitting there staring at the screen with your mouth wide open, wondering what on earth just happened? Now... I believe I've mentioned this before, but I'm not a really a fan of Neal's character since his introduction in the sixth episode, Tallahassee for a few reasons, some being more biased than others, but I can't say more because doing so would be spoilery. However, with that being said... I really do love how Neal turned out to be not only Henry's father like we knew about from Tallahassee, but also Gold's son as well. I should have realized he would be right away upon seeing that Mr. Gold brought Emma and Henry to New York City to find his son, as we knew from this season's premiere episode, Broken that Neal also lived there, and is the only character we somewhat knew about outside of Storybrooke in which the big shock factor would make sense. Another hell of a coincidence... or not. :) I just still didn't see this reveal coming, which is really smart. I love the flashback to Tallahassee, when it's finally revealed what August showed Neal inside his box tied to the back of his bike. It's clear Neal knew about magic when August reveals what's inside the box, but that still could have meant he could have been anyone from the Enchanted Forest. So this reveal that August knew that Neal is Gold's son, Baelfire, for me wasn't so obvious, and I love it. And I really love the simplicity of the way August proved to Neal that he needed to hear him out... with merely a single line typed from his typewriter on a single piece of paper... "I know you're Baelfire." It's really brilliant. Because who in the real world could have possibly known who Neal really was, other than someone from the Enchanted Forest. :) Speaking of coincidences... I really like Neal's explanation to Emma about them, and fate, and how they both wonder if Emma meeting and falling in love with Neal those twelve years ago was somehow fate that wanted to see them together, in order to set in motion Emma becoming the Savior and her and Henry becoming the tools Gold would use to help him find his son after so many years. I really like their talk. I also completely understand Emma's anger towards Neal, as well as her fear for wanting Henry to know the truth about Neal too. It's wrong for sure that she would lie about his father and not want to tell Neal about Henry, but it's certainly understandable because of what Neal had done to her when he let her take the fall for the theft of the watches, putting her in prison, and forcing her to give birth to Henry while in prison. It's all so sad. Next... Rumple and Baelfire are finally reunited. And what a reunion! I can also most definitely understand Neal's anger towards his father too. Rumple did promise his son he would never abandon him, and yet when his own fear of becoming powerless once again overpowered him, he did abandon him after all. And then... one of the first things Gold tells Neal after being reunited with him again, is that together they can have power. Once again, Gold shows that he still doesn't understand why his son wanted to get away from magic and from his lust for power that Neal knows his father loves more than even him. I can't blame Neal for refusing to want to be a part of his life. Now... I really, really love the backstory with Rumple before he was the Dark One, and the Seer. I think she is a brilliant character and very eerie, especially with her eerie voice and her eyes being within the palms of her hands. And I love how her first big prophecy, that Rumple's actions on the battlefield would leave his son fatherless, came to pass because he attempted to save himself from being killed in battle when he injured himself to the point of becoming the cripple we see him as without his magic, then became a coward, causing Milah to leave him and him to abandon his son upon the fear of becoming powerless once again after he had become the Dark One. Wonderful! Yes... Milah is a real witch and I hate her character. I also don't understand why Hook loves her so much too. Like I said before in your reaction for The Crocodile, I feel badly for Hook because he lost the woman he did love, but I felt no heartbreak in seeing Milah die. Milah did nothing for Hook but encourage him to continue on down his villainous path. I say... good riddance to her. And then, years later after Rumple becomes the Dark One, he finds the Seer again and as Rumple kills her, the path of Rumple finding Regina to cast his curse that would eventually lead him to finding Henry, therefore Emma, and finally Neal too... was set in motion, and the final revelation being that Henry would one day be Rumplestiltskin's undoing. After which Rumple proclaims that he will kill this boy to save himself. Will Rumple really go so far as to kill his own grandson? Oh... and I also really love the brief scenes between Emma and Mary Margaret, then Mary Margaret with David too. Yes... what a complicated family tree they have, but really cool nonetheless. What a Thanksgiving dinner they would have. :) And lastly... Hook is betrayed by Cora and Regina once again, after he deciphered the map that led to his dagger for them. Cora's a real witch who deserves to die. She makes me so mad. I don't like her as this half of the season's major villainess. And foolishly, Regina is still caught up in her mother's web, which I also really don't like either. However, I really enjoy these scenes between Hook, Regina, and Cora too. Of course Hook isn't finished yet. And is he ever that much more angry and determined to get his revenge. Overall... this episode isn't one of my favorites from this season, but it is really, really good, and it certainly does have some great twists. I am so happy to have gotten another great reaction for Once Upon a Time from you. Thank you so very much! I can't wait for your reaction for the next episodes to come!! So, until next time...

Tony

Dear Heidi, Let me be clear here first, I'm not trying to be mean. But it's come to the point where whenever OUAT is posted, And you leave a comment, A lot of people complained that your posts are too long. I've heard that some have tried to ask you to stop or shorten them. But that you told them that people like reading them and will continue anyway. Now I've also seen you post these exact same comments on the uploads on Youtube. So I would like to politely ask you if you can withhold yourself from posting them here. So that people won't get upset about having to scroll down a long line of text to get to the next reaction. Again, Not trying to be mean. I'm sure people like reading your reaction comments. I'm just trying to look out for everyone here. By posting your reaction comments solely to Youtube they will still be read and people here can more easily scroll to see their favorite reactions. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here, Take care, Tony (ASR Editor)

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

Fine, but I don't understand why it's so hard to scroll down. I've seen over a hundred one sentence comments under certain reactions and people still have to scroll down to read them anyways, or to get to the reaction. Even with just a few one sentence or two sentence comments, you still have to scroll down. This shouldn't be an issue. If you don't want to read my comments, then don't. It's as simple as that. People do enjoy reading my long comments though. I have gotten many compliments for them. You're the only person who has ever complained. Plus... not everyone here on Patreon follow her reactions on YouTube. But if you feel like my comments are a waste of time to read or are far too difficult for people to scroll past, then fine. I will respect your wishes. I won't post them any longer. I'm sorry you feel this way.

Tony

I apologize I personally don't mind scrolling. It's just been brought to my attention on discord that a lot of people were upset about it and that they did try to ask you to stop. I'm just the messenger on their behalf. Like I said I was not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to look out for both sides. I'm sorry this inconveniences you.

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

If people on Discord have been asking me to stop, then I've never seen their messages. I don't go on Discord. If they've asked me here on Patreon, then I apologize. They've now gotten what they wanted. I do understand and I respect their requests and yours. I know you're trying not to be mean. But just so you know... your messages don't inconvenience me. My comments are clearly the real inconveniences to those on Discord. Theirs and your requests for me to stop hurt me a little because now I feel that my opinions and thoughts, as well as my efforts to try to explain certain aspects of these episodes don't matter to anyone. And it's really not fair.

Tony

I agree it's not fair. You don't mean anyone any harm with your comments. Posting them on Patreon just seems to anger people. I hope you can still find solace in the thought that people on Youtube will read them including Shannan. I'm sorry for hurting your feelings. Your thoughts do matter.

I think you have some wonderful insights that add to reviewing a show, you really should have a website for that, but I agree with Tony that with the way Patreon is set up it doesn't work as well here. It is just the particular medium of the website and not you. Maybe put a link up "here is what I think of this" to comments on Youtube.

Loving the Once upon a time reactions. Any episode that is Rumple centered is always a banger and love how everything comes full circle.

Wow this is the first time I’ve seen complaints about the long comments, I’ve seen Heidi’s comments on every other Patreon videos of literally ALL other reactors, it’s never been a problem for me, and I enjoy reading them. :) much love Heidi ❤️

Heidi: I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy reading your comments and even when there are parts of a comment that don't especially interest me, I don't mind scrolling. May I make a suggestion? Perhaps you could post shorter comments here, focusing only upon some aspect of the episode that most appeals to you, leaving out the longer summaries of the plot. As Tony suggested, you could still post the longer version to youtube. That way, those who want to read the long version could see it there, and those of us on Patreon could still get some short comments from you when the episode appears here.

While I love this episode firstly for the emotional content and secondly for the great plot development, I want to comment about a little thing that impressed me. When Hook, Cora, and Regina were searching the library for Rumple's dagger, the Dewey decimal number that Regina got from Belle was 915.63, which corresponds to Middle Eastern and Asian Geography. That scene in the library is one of the few in which Cora refers to the dagger as a "kris dagger," which it is. Kris daggers, with their characteristic wavy shape, originated in Indonesia, so it's appropriate that the map was stored under that Dewey decimal number. I love the little nuggets like this that are hidden in so many episodes.

Ceara Abrahamsz

I'm sorry but boo-hoo! So what that people have to scroll! Really?! Are you all serious...How lazy are you people that someone can't express their opinion? Like "Oh no! I have to scroll like 3 times just to get to the through the comment! My day is now ruined! I can no longer enjoy reading and commenting because someone has passion and love for a tv show!" Sorry not sorry, but ya'll complaining are absolutely ridiculous! Too long? Simple solution=Do. Not. Read. The world is going through a global pandemic and you all want to complain about long comments?????????? Where are the priorities,Lol Heidi love you, and your comments! Your thoughts matter just as much as anyone else. Period. Point. Blank.

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

Thank you so, so much, Ceara!!! I truly appreciate your kindness and you for defending me. I am so happy that you love reading my comments. And that you feel my thoughts matter as much as everyone else's. I do have passion for this beautiful show, and I love being able to talk about it, and other shows and movies I love too with others who enjoy them too. Thank you! :)

Seeing Heidi singled out for posting positive, on topic comments is very much worse than having to scroll a few paragraphs down.
