I agree with you about how Superman has been portrayed so far. It certainly feels like the writers understand the character and have done a really good job of making this version of the character feel right. But I disagree with you about the whole Kryptonite issue. If you look at it from Kal's perspective there is only one purpose for having Kryptonite, killing Kryptonians. In fact that's all Kryptonite is good for, it has no other uses. Imagine if there was a substance on the planet thats only purpose was to kill you and your family. Would you be OK with it being in existence? Would you be OK with the government having a huge stockpile of it? I know I wouldn't be.

If I was Kal, and I knew that there were Kryptonians out there hellbent on killing humans, of course I'd be ok with humans stockpiling Kryptonite!
