The new DEO set is due to the fact that for season 2, production was moved to Vancouver with the other arrowverse shows. Also fun fact: Melissa Benoist, who plays Supergirl, and Chris Wood, who played Kai, got married last year. This season was how they met

You might not be aware, and this is not a spoiler or anything, but the show basically got canceled from CBS and got took up by The CW for Season 2, so the entire production team and locations changed from LA to Vancouver, it's under a whole new team now, and is now part of the The CW "Arrowverse" shows with those showrunners running the series now. So writing, production, direction, location, everything has changed, it's basically like a whole new show.

Only a part of what you said is correct. The move of production locations and network change is true. But they did not switch showrunners. Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg who were the showrunners for season 1 were still the showrunners for Season 2. The writing did not change. The production crew did change though.

I'm so glad that Superman wasn't spoiled for you. Unfortunately, it was announced before the season that he was going to be on, so most of us that watched it live knew beforehand.

My favorite comic book character is Superman so his introduction to the Arrowverse was, for me, a very exciting and welcome addition. To this day this episode is still my favorite episode of Supergirl. I love it so much.

I honestly think Tyler Hoechlin’s performance is the best since Christopher Reeves. (Fight me lol) I don’t count Tom Welling’s portrayal (Which was great) as Superman but just as Clark Kent

I think the reason Lena was adopted is because it is an easy way to explain Katie McGrath's occasional accent slips - I think she's awesome but you can really hear her natural Irish accent breaking through at times.

Haha I think that’s the cutest and best part is when she breaks accent and then mid sentence tries to go back to an American accent. They should just mess around and let her do a full Irish accent for just one episode for fun

Enjoyed your reaction. Really like Tyler's Superman especially at this time when compared to the movie version of Superman. Tyler's version is more closer to the version I've grown up with and has always been my favorite superhero. Though I will say I have come to really appreciate Brandon Routh's version unfortunately his movie wasn't the best showcase. I see others have already mentioned the changes that came with the switch to the CW. One thing I will say for the whole Arrowverse is that this is where I feel things really become fun for comic/superhero fans. Also do agree the whole ending of James/Kara is such a bad way of doing it. Yeah they didn't really work but so much time was put into last season to just dumped in a couple of scenes seemed so rush. Of course the whole character of James Olsen on the show is troublesome and it is kind of like how you noticed the continual switch between James/Jimmy, I feel the writers are having trouble deciding who they want him to be. Which is a shame because the other characters seem to have a good foundation that his character doesn't seem to have.
