I pretty much agree with everything you said about this episode. I liked it overall, and have come to overlook some of the aspects that have bothered me. This episode seemed like a rush job. What happened in this one should have been spread out longer and with more material, to justify everything. And the bit with Tessa annoyed me too. And, yep, they do seem to like to kill off these side characters we've come to like. And I think that's why. We like them, so bringing them back and then their death adds more weight to an episode. And why say Tessa was an angel? That was a bad writing job. Stupid. Should never have gotten to the final version. She's a Reaper and they are not the same things. Maybe Dean said angel because he doesn't know the difference? Is there a difference, or are Reapers a type of angel? What mattered most to me was them killing of Tessa. And, why didn't Death intervene? Or why didn't Tessa go to Death? These are the issues that bothered me at the time, but I can mostly overlook now. Metatron disguised himself as Cas and went and recruited those angels. That's why he had that trenchcoat on at the beginning of the episode when Gadreel walked in on him. It was a coat like Cas's. He had been out recruiting. He must have been able to use his amped up powers to make himself look and sound like Cas. Most of these angels seem really stupid and easily manipulated.

Solid episode, but I'm just here for those sick Monopoly strats lol
