This is probably my favorite episode of the season because of a) the worldbuilding we got this episode by filling in the blanks on the mikaelson family tree with Klaus' birth father, the firstborn child Freya and even introducing that Esther had a sister because apparently this franchise can't have enough Mikaelsons. And b) this had one of my favorite Klaus moments the way he turns the tables on Esther at the end of the episode. I will say though my one nit pick was that I don't like how they retconned how Klaus killed Esther 1000 years ago by breaking her neck instead of ripping her heart out which what had been established more than once on The Vampire Diaries. I thought it was unnecessary and maybe it's just me but a simple neck snap rather than ripping out the heart just doesn't have that visceral Klaus touch

Can someone send me the link to the chronological list sh has to watching TVD and The Originals. Because I don't know where to look and i'm almost caught up with her list of reactions.

Great reaction. Like how we get more of the background.

The watch order shouldn’t change, but the dates are assuming Shan never takes another week off, which is almost certainly wrong: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_MfgvqYC9H1eTVcgnzH2J1f8e0_kNnOz

Esther's original plan was to stop vampirism since she created it. She made them vampires to make them strong to fight off the werewolves but they turned into monsters themselves which was not the plan. Now unfortunately they had to die to be turned into vampires so there was no simple fix to turn them back into regular people since it was the vampirism spell that was now keeping them alive. So in the beginning Esther was a good mother. W hen she tried to kill them it really wasn't about killing her children and more so about ending vampirism since she thought vampires were killing machines which they are. So if an original dies then all vampires die then she had to kill her children which were the originals. So her motives here are to put her children in different bodies to give them a fresh start. I don't think she could have done this before because she wasn't strong enough but with the power of the ancestors I think she is strong enough to do that.
