Well, I didn't think I'd be writing a second newsletter this month, but here we are.

This has mostly to do with my recent findings in the PowerVR 1.9 driver... which yield some very noticeable benefits.

As all of you know, I've spent a good chunk of my time reverse-engineering and debugging the PowerVR 1.9 driver lately. All in the hopes of making the XD+'s GPU a bit more... usable.

In the last newsletter I've announced some of the WIP Vulkan fixes (which, so far, fix the 3DMark Slingshot Extreme Vulkan benchmark and a few other Vulkan-based applications), well, this time around I'm announcing some more PowerVR driver fixes!

But I will let the linked video do all the talking here.

Let's just say... Sega Saturn fans will be happy when the new build goes live in early June.

And as always... I will keep you guys posted!

GPD XD+ LineageOS 18.1 Beta #18 GPU Driver Improvements

The June Patreon update will make a bunch of Sega Saturn fans very very happy. A lot of other apps / games are (positively) affected by this update as well, but working Sega Saturn emulation is pretty much the biggest gain here. Sidenote: The game runs pretty much fullspeed when not screen recording at the same time, so don't be disappointed by the speed of the footage! If you wish to support me, feel free to drop by my Patreon over at https://patreon.com/blackseraph (also accessible via www.black-seraph.com)! All GPD XD+ LineageOS updates can be found in the 10$ tier!

This is awesome! Black-Seraph, could you please check if is something easy and worthy to fix: latest version of Parsec App in latest lineage beta display just a black screen while opening the app. I've tested previous versions and worked well when I switched back to a API 23 (Android 6) version. All 3 versions using API 26 (Android 8) just display a black screen.

The newer parsec builds allocate huge chunks of memory (for some odd reason). Those allocations fail on a lot of devices... Not only our XD+. :( Not much I can do about it sadly, but it's been on my radar for a while now... and I'll keep trying.
