It took some prep-work, but we're now on LineageOS 16.0 / Android 9 / Android Pie!

This is of course a beta release and should be treated as such, bugs & regressions are to be expected.

Please continue reporting whatever issues you find, and given that this is a whole new Android revision I highly suggest that you start fresh installing this (wiping your system).

Newcomers: Please refer to the Beta #1 post for a visual installation guide or follow the included README.txt in the SPFlash package to-the-letter.

Existing users: Reboot into the recovery, wipe your system and install the TWRP package as usual to upgrade. Make sure you download and install the right opengapps package (9.0 pico) if you need it as well.

Changelog

  • Upgraded to LineageOS 16.0 / Android 9 / Android Pie

Known issues

  • Audio plays through the device speakers / wired headphones while connected via HDMI

I upgraded using SPFlash, and I can only boot to the splash screen showing the LineageOs animation with the arc and the disc going from right to left and again, with the animation looping indefintely. I can still access the recovery menu and tried to go back to older version but without success, still stuck with the animation looping... help ?!

Did you make sure to Format + Download on SPFlash? Also, if you are using OpenGapps, did you make sure to wipe the system before installing them? This sounds like a bad OpenGapps install.

It is looping along the following lines:

I checked and it seems I did the right steps on nvram.bin readback, the file dates from today and the offset still looks right in SPFlash

Thanks for your great work ! I just installed Lineage OS 16.0 on my newly purchased GPD XD + (will worry about the Open G Apps later) that had the custom GPD Rom on it. I followed the steps in the readme. txt. I can now boot into Lineage, yet weirdly there is some flickering going on with the screen. I can see that some menu is being displayed under the interface saying Airplane mode and some other options, which I believe it what causes the flickering. Do you know what could be the cause of the issue ? The flickering seems to happen specifically in the middle of the screen (where the menu is).

Mind creating and sending me a adb logcat log? There really isn't much I can do with unreproducible visual bugs otherwise.
