This update brings a variety of gamepad related updates.

For starters, the PS3 (DualShock 3) gamepad mode has been dropped in favor of a new PS4 (DualShock 4) mode.

This new gamepad mode allows you to make the built-in controls act like a genuine DualShock 4 gamepad, which brings a very pleasant side-effect with it:

You can now use the built-in gamepad to control your streamed PlayStation 4 games via Sony's new official PS4 Remote Play app.

Furthermore, the OS now supports a variety of new, previously unsupported, external gamepads, like Xiaomi's official Bluetooth Controller.

If you had trouble with external gamepads before, maybe give them another spin to see if they work now!

Finally: Should you wish to give the new PS4 Remote Play compatibility a try, please check the attached guide for details on how to get everything set up.

Special thanks to kuraudo1996 for the set-up guide and the initial comment / suggestion that got me interested in working out a DualShock 4 driver.

Did my feature request require more work than anticipated? (i requested being able to swap buttons around on the built in gamepad i.e swap a and b around to match my 8bitdo controller) is it coming in a feature release?

black-seraph do you know the mmj dolphin emulator? it crash on the gpd XD+, i had try every version but not lucky, it is faster than the regular Dolphin...

blackseraph

I haven't forgotten about you. Your request is in the works. Thanks for the patience BTW. I can only work these off one at a time sadly.

blackseraph

You can find a patched Dolphin build on this Patreon. I will take a look at the MMJ one at a later point in time.

Hmm i followed the instructions in the pdf file, but I get an error code on ps4 remote play. Looking around they say it's the error code for rooted devices, and yes, I did enable magisk hide. Removing the magisk manager (not magisk itself... weird) allows the app to start and everything works... until I reinstall magisk manager! So odd... I suppose it depends on the network more than the GPD itself, but for me it's quite unusable anyway, waaaay too laggy >.<

Hi Black-Seraph, I'm having problems getting any of the CleanROM builds to run well on my new GPD XD Plus. Essentially, any app, including Settings, will "stop responding" nearly immediately. This is very disappointing for me as I was excited to upgrade to the Plus after you solved the inconsistent frame rate issue. Can you please advise on a fix? Thank you

Hey! Thank you for all the effort you've put in making CleanRom! I just have to say something that is bothering me. Since I installed this update the HDMI out has stopped working with my 4K TV which was working fine with the previous firmware.

Get in touch with me via DM sometime during the next weekend. We can take a look at it together then if you'd like.

Your work on this Remote Play capability pushed me over the edge to become a supporter, good work! But... I get crazy amounts of lag when I stream, about a second or so. I asked around on Reddit to see if that was normal; it’s not. Pretty sure it’s not my network or my hardware. I can do Remote Play on my iPad just fine, and I can stream from my PC with Moonlight near perfectly. So maybe a software issue. Any ideas?

I actually replied to you in your Reddit thread (MrColdbird) and can only repeat what I mentioned there as well. It doesn't happen on my unit. I have my PS4 wired and it's running fine on my 5GHz WiFi network. It might be a faulty antenna on your XD+.

I've seen your comment before you edited it out. So I assume you figured out the problem you had?
