It has been requested many times over now, but it is finally here!

Say Hello to built-in CPU controls that actually work!

As such you can now decide for yourself whether you wish to overclock your XD+ and get the most out of it (set by default) or underclock it to reduce heat and prolong battery life!

I was wondering if you could tell me what the regular CPU settings are for it to b regular clocked. Thank You! :)

Is that on both of Minimu and Maximum for Little and Big cores???

blackseraph

506MHz minimum for both little and big, 1.6GHz maximum for little and 1.8GHz maximum for big.

Glad to see finally something done about this glitch, btw did you figured what was causing the clocks speed resetting?https://boards.dingoonity.org/gpd-android-devices/need-help-on-finishing-and-editing-a-nougat-rom-for-the-xd-rk3288/ Also if you could find some spare a guy here on dingo is trying to revive the nougat project for the og XD, I know you're busy with your own projects and live but maybe in spare time throw him some nougats of wisdom ;) One last thing I promise I made a thread on dingo here https://boards.dingoonity.org/gpd-android-devices/does-the-gpd-xd-support-some-form-of-quick-charge/ It's about the XD+ accepting 9v 1.5amp from a quick charge port, even though the XD+ doesn't support quick charge, can you check if this is safe. Cheers and big thanks for all the work. PS. Sorry for this wall of text. :)

I'll see what I can do. And don't worry, I'm happy to have enthusiastic people like you here.

Unrelated to this specific update, but previous cleanroms have selinux set as permissive. I tried everything I could to change it (even temporarely) to enforcing but no dice, and that's very frustrating because one damn android game needs to be on enforcing every time it gets a store update or it will freeze. Is it possible to have a little help in that regard? Thanks in advance!

I don't plan on spending too much time on sepolicies at the moment given I've found a few other issues I want to tackle first. Also, it's very likely that, as part of that process, we'd end up with a few CleanROM builds that break more than they would fix due to policy mismatches. What is everyone else's opinion about this? I can take a look at this but it's likely to break some other parts of the system that in turn would need revisiting.

I don't know that having it overclocked by default is sensible/safe - I was getting random crashing and visual artifacts, which on restoring the default clock settings disappeared... Not to mention it was heating up to quite uncomfortable temperatures. Re-enabling CPU hotplug and restoring max clocks to the default appears to have restored normal behaviour for me (at least, no visual artifacts or crashing since, but it could just be a coincidence I suppose). I guess there are specific multipliers that make overclocks between 1.8ghz and 2.1ghz impossible?

OC is the wrong word here anyway. The XD+ comes underclocked by default. I've merely restored the default clock for the MT8173/MT8176 SoC. At the very least I'd leave hotplug disabled, even if you restore the stock clockrates, as hotplug causes random stutters.

At first, sry for my "very good" english but gretting from germany :). I bought a used GPD XD+ and i updated Cleanrom from 2.0.2 to the newest. All work fine ^^ but i have some tipps, or something lol. First, if my XD+ is on but the Display is closed. The blue LED is on all the time. If i opened the XD the LED go off. Maybe u can add an option do turn off the LED for all time. the blue led. then, we can Overclock in the CleanRom Settings. But "only" to 2.1ghz is it possible to oc the CPU more AND the GPU? :) And one more, if i press the "back" key. 90% of the times my XD+ think i press it 2-3-4 times. So i press the Button to go back one page and it goes 100 pages back lol. IDK is this a problem of my GPD XD+ or the CleanRom? :D
