Eric's dark side= Avatar lol WILL I think it is after the 24hr Charity let Calvin

Anonymous

OMGORSH, you guys are gonna love Korra...

fork

Please don't hype it up too much. It's nowhere near as good as ATLA.

Anonymous

the travel time is next to nothing - 'Waits, and listens, before striking !

Mten10th

Love the debate about the Avatar State. Just keep watching guys.

Mten10th

Avatar Roku was a fire bender and the Avatar right before Aang. The Avatar before Roku was Kyoshi, who was an earth bender. The next Avatar would be water.

Holy fuck this episode is so good. I like it more than the finale :> btw there's a theory that the planet Avatar takes place on is much smaller than our Earth, which helps explain the short travel time between continents (and yes, the creators have confirmed the map shown at the beginning is a projection of the whole globe). Plus, with only Aang riding Appa, they could probably fly a lot higher to get there quicker, perhaps with the help of an air sphere provided by Aang.

Todd Mancell

I love how you guys discuss what might happen next, but i hate the fact that i know all the answers to your questions but i can't tell you yet!!!!

Alex P

I know right. I just want to tell them what happens so bad but for their sake I will let them have fun. Can't wait for the finale.

Brendan Horn

LOL, it seemed like a little bit of Calvin's exasperation with them guessing about metal bending came through right there. Everyone's been anxiously waiting for this episode for that very reason I'm sure.

Matthew Rudolph

Eric, you're asking some good questions. I would like to say that back in S2Ep1 Roku said if Aang dies while in the Avatar State, the reincarnation cycle will be broken and the avatar will cease to exist.

Anonymous

@Blind Wave I believe that the Eastern Air Temple is very close to Chameleon Bay, where Sokka was. And Ba Sing Se is also in that corner of the world. So the travel time would be pretty short on Appa.

Lalisa Truong

LOL Azula played ya >:D

Matthew Rudolph

Also, Aang was traveling to the Eastern air temple which is relatively close by, it's not near as far as the North, South or Western temple.

Finally Metal bending revealed!

Anonymous

cant wait till they hit season 3

Anonymous

Ba Sing Se is on the east coast of the Earth Kingdom, and Chameleon Bay (I think) is just south of it. So really, Aang was only like, fifty miles away anyway. So, the time frame would be, two days maybe?

Anonymous

All these inquirys about the first avatar and the cycle starting over are answered in Korra. Trust me, there's specifically two episodes about the first avatar. Cant wait for the finale though, and for S3, which is the best season in my opinion

Anonymous

Eric brings up a really good point about the Avatar cycle. Good ideas up for debate. I'm with Aaron though when it comes to the rules the Guru stated, unless there are things even the Guru doesn't know about.

Skeletor

I thinks its clear that we dont know what all earth bending Bumi can do or has mastered. But Its a good thing too make Toph the creator of Metal Bending. I mean Katara is the best Water Bender and she's Aangs master and Its only fair Aangs other master be as powerful.

Eduardo Zatarain

In my opinion the lock is for the access at will, he can still enter the avatar state as a defense mechanism but he can't activate it at will anymore. Also the Avatar cycle is Fire->Air->Water->Earth

Anonymous

So we have to wait till Friday to see Eric cry and the others shit themselves? Fucckkkk 😩😭

Darksteel78

For those curious about the locations and distances traveled, I've cropped the world map to make it spoiler free up to this episode: https://goo.gl/photos/bUt9qw41EhjGaoAu9

Supermonaman

Man this is such a great episode. All the stuff with the chakras and everything is connected is really deep. It was so heartwarming to see Sokka reuniting with his father. Also Toph learning Metalbending is the most awesome thing ever and proves that she is the greatest Earthbender ever of all time. I also am glad you are finally at least giving the villains credit even though you don't like them.

Anonymous

the avatar cycle is the intro! Water, earth, fire, air. long ago the four nations lived together....

Anonymous

They explain the first avatar in legend of korra

Anonymous

This is my favo. episode. I will soon send you some comics that take place after book fire: The search for example. And also a beautiful canvas pic of the four avatars for on your background wall.

Freddy00

Im kinda dissapointed with the 5$ patreon deal, I paid it so i could see more avatar reactions quicker, but the only diffrence is that we are 1 episode ahead, we dont get more episodes a week than Youtube watchers :/ I love your reactions tough, but i would like more eps a week.

TheWerdna

Nice to see your reaction to Metal bending being a thing

Anonymous

You are seeing Avatar Reactions quicker. One episode ahead = quicker. If you don't like the Early Access deal, which is pretty clearly stated on the Patreon page, you don't have to pay. 17 cents a day is more than reasonable for what Blind Wave is offering.

Ever Beltran

Awesome, I wanted to do send them the comics too, but I don't have the money. :)

Alexandre Boutin

I was wondering about legend of korra, did they say they would start it right after Avatar or it would have to be voted ? and if so, is it going to be the same format as avatar, 2 episodes a week or we will do once a week? I know it's early to ask but just wondering

Mina

Toph is a badass, no doubt about it. I'm so not prepared for The Crossroads of Destiny....

Indexsage

lol man i loved that they guess almost everything that's going to happen later on

Anonymous

Not really, they were more wrong than right. Also, don't say that regardless because that's just a spoiler for them.

Matthew Rudolph

Now that they've seen this episode I'm looking forward to their reaction of Sparky sparky boom man.

Anonymous

Does anyone know if they already have Legend of korra season 1 dvds? I wanted to send it to them, but do not know if they got one already. I don't always follow up on the mailbag presents.

Anonymous

Oh, they will all cry. 2x20 is such a good episode. #weloveiroh!

Manny D.

I hope they watch Korra now too. I know it's not as good as the original, but it was still pretty decent, and it would answer a lot of their questions!

Anonymous

Right. I thought so too. The characterbuilding and sudden plot changes are the worst in Korra, but way more avatar lore. And I love the roaring twenties references.

Anonymous

I disagree. Korra was great, just not the second season. That one was just..meh

Anonymous

I feel like I would have enjoyed the second season more had Korra kept her character development from the first season, but she became a brat again.

Anonymous

Yeah it got ridiculous a little, especially with the whole unexplained sudden solutions to some of the plot. It felt like it reached a bit, but honestly I fucking love Korra. It was a great show, the second season just underperformed a lot; especially when you look at the two seasons that followed it. They were fantastic, which in turn really just showed how meh the second season was. But once you get past it, they really got their shit together. Like dropping the stupid love triangle and making it a primary function of the shows plot. That was gay. And I'm fucking gay. But I really do think tlok was a great evolution to the last airbender.

PinoyAkoPH

I stopped watching the Legend of Korra after the first season because I was upset that it didn't live up to the greatness that is Avatar the Last Airbender. However, I can't just give up on this universe so I want to give it another shot and hopefully the third and fourth seasons are better (my friends told me so).

Anonymous

Well, that doesn't seem too fair or objective. ATLA was great, but korra is nor was it supposed to be atla. Different era, different person. I promise if you manage to get past the second season you won't regret finishing it. The 3rd and 4th seasons are hailed as the best and are easily where it might get back to some of the old school atla feel you'd like. It feels like they finally got into the swing of things around then. Also the first season wasn't bad, if you cut out the love shit. The villain was a pretty decent antagonist. The concept of equality being taken into negative extremist ways was interesting. Each season can be aligned with a idealism, and how a 'positive' ideal, can be taken too far and become negative. Equality, freedom, unity. Things like that

Anonymous

Give it a fair shot. And remember it's not atla, because it's not supposed to be. A completely different time and story. But there will be atla things that come into play and tie into it.

Anonymous

I can see that. Personally I found the first episodes of a Korra season very promising, but the (last episodes and) finales very disappointing. Thats what I meant with sudden plot changes and random developed skills. But Lets not get spoilery. :P I really did enjoy Korra and I think the crew will too.

Anonymous

I don't think it's fair to judge it as much as some fans do. I think it does the series, and the show itself a great disservice. By all means be critical, give constructive criticism and know what maybe could have been done better but not liking it just because it isn't the last airbender and refusing to acknowledge what it did well isn't really fair. If you want to point out Korra's flaws you also have to accept the last airbenders flaws. Neither show is perfect but both have so much love, detail and work put into it that they stand head and shoulders above so many other shows. They both have some truly amazing characters, they both have some truly amazing moments and episodes, they both tackle some amazingly heavy and deep topics that shows just what the creators want the show to mean. I for one prefer it to the last airbender too, and they never wanted to set out and make the last airbender 2.0 they wanted Korra's journey to mean something different than Aang's and that's why I love it. It's important to not just view the last airbender through rose tinted glasses.
