I suppose it starts by learning how to rig a character and before you get to there you need character art. And before that you need a design!










I'm going to be documenting my progress so here is where I start!

(with a design)

It's of a character I've used for this sort of learning experience before. Most of the work she appears in never saw a public release but maybe in time I will put it all out there for shits and giggles. The main update to the design though is that she has a more cartoony melon which includes defined hair for simplicity's sake. I also changed her eyes to orange instead of blue. Ideally there will be no outlines to the actual character and I felt like blue eyes didn't stand out well enough against the blue shadows I was already doing for the body.

For example here are these two that were part of a series I did testing this distortion script I found for flash. The work files are lost but I still have backups of the final results!

I remember her! You were going to do a reader command-based adventure story, right? The pixely style still looks really cool, so I hope you have fun with it and make some cool stuff. :D
