Today Ophelia and I went to see a sculpture which I have been meaning to see which I arrived but the renowned sculptor Òscar Estruga in Vilanova i la Geltrú the next door town . It's made of 3 tons of copper. It's the called Pasiphaë and is about the very strange Greek myth story of Pasiphaë. Pasiphae was the wife of King Minos of Crete. As punishment for some offence against the gods she was cursed by falling in love the king's finest bull. The resulting 'union' created the Minotaur!
Obviously this bit I didn't explain to Ophelia! It is an iconic statue in Catalonia. It means a lot to me as we are lucky enough to have a painting by Oscar Estruga. I love it's incredible position by the sea - it can be seen for miles around.
