19th July - an update on the Special Chapter (Patreon)

So boiling hot here still.. and this is Sitges and one of my favourite views from my favourite historic cafe - a good place to have a cup of coffee in a shady spot and people spot and look at the ocean while doing a bit of work.

Some super good news to share...We have had an update that the ‘Special Chapter’ is likely to be completed by the end of this month! 

I think most of you will know what it is but basically each listed historic cultural asset in Spain, like Can Punxes, needs to have its own individual legal framework created before we can apply for planning permission to restore and renovate. This is known as the ’Special Chapter’

Half the historic houses in Spain have their chapters done apparently but our house was in the other half.

Now this is not the end of the process as once the special chapter is written it has to go to various committees for approval apparently at a Catalan level and also then in Madrid at a Spanish level. I think there is also a visual inspection at some point.

Then once that is approved we then can put some plans to together and start to make individual plannings permission for the works in stages as we save up the funds for each part.

So it is not the end of the journey in July… and this next part could take a while (we are not sure how long and we are going to have a meeting with our architect to understand what these later stages are )

BUT it is a big milestone and one we are really pleased about!
