Yesterday was a bit challenging but as I mentioned something cool arrived in the post which has really cheered us up!

Currently due to (another) electrical mini-explosion we only have one plug socket for the entire upper floor. This means we are literally using torches at bedtime and in the morning which isn’t ideal when you are trying to work out what to wear for work! I also have no light in my art studio which is particularly frustrating.

Anyway a viewer kindly suggested we write to EcoFlow who make portable power units  powered by solar panels. (Sunshine is something we have a lot of with 300 sunny days a year!!)  They are used by lot of renovators and we have heard good things.

And guess what! EcoFlow saw the vlog and the issues we are having and have been lovely and sent us one.  We are very excited this could really make our quality of life while we wait for our planning permission so much better.

I am told it is easy to put together, so fingers crossed we can light up our top floor soon! We need to work out where to put the solar panel but our roof is a real sun trap so we will see if we can put it there.

We will let you know how we get on!

Wow! Lucky you! They're great in the event of power outages or you just need to plug something in and there's no convenient outlet.

Oh no! That’s awful. It’s mind boggling that the city takes so long to approve the upgrades. In North America that would be unacceptable. I think most people would just go ahead and do it rather than wait so long and hope for approval—if at all—retroactively. But, I understand, with your historic classification that’s not possible. I’ve heard very good things about the Ecoflow. Billy Petherick for one (See The Pethericks, friends of Stephanie J.) got a couple of mega sized EcoFlowx (I believe it was this brand.) to meet his power needs while he restores a historical convent. It’s been doing a stupendous job providing light and powering his various power tools. This appliance can meet most of your needs for the time being.
