This is the pipe that was inside our wall that was feeding into the bathroom. I am surprised any water at all got to the shower!

When I see this it makes me realise just how important it is to sort the fundamentals of the house out.  There is a limit to what we can do before the listed building permissions (essential repairs only) but when that is sorted we will need to go deep on totally new plumbing and electrics - otherwise we will regret it later.

We show the wall and what the plumber did tomorrow I think (Camila is upstairs editing as we speak!)

Two bits of good news today - we have given the go ahead for exploratory works on the biggest cistern which will involve draining it completely, removing roots etc and then doing a plan on whether it can be saved (waterproofed we hope) and the cost estimate etc for this.  Even this exploratory and draining work is a big job and we have to get permission from the council to do it.  Presuming we get this permission that work could start within the next 2 weeks.  They are going to film inside the cistern so that should be interesting! We think it could be 30,000 litres in size but we shall see.   I wonder if they will find anything interesting in the sludge at the bottom of the cistern too!!

We have also been approached to potentially do a sponsored slot for a VPN company on the vlog - which is useful as all of the cistern work is quite a few thousand pounds.  The sponsorship  may not come to anything but it is good to be asked.

ps I have kept the pipe as a souvenir - one to look back on when the work is complete!
