Friday 9 September - faded glory (Patreon)

Thank you for all your lovely messages yesterday and my thoughts too for any of you who were also upset about the Queen's death.  

Workers are fully back at work this week and today we had a company come round to give a quote on some major works to help deal with damp and asbestos.

Getting quotes in a different language on a topic that you are not familiar with is quite a challenge to say the least.

We will give you a proper update on that tomorrow when it is light and we can take some pictures.

In the meantime while walking the dogs I took a photo of this house which is just on the road next to our house.  It feels really sad to see a house go into decline like this.  I wonder who owns it and also whether it also has painted rooms inside.

Part of the challenge with old houses like this is that Spanish inheritance laws  (things are split equally with children).  While that seems really fair the downside is often its mean that these houses end up having lots of owners and not everyone is able or willing to upkeep them.  I am not sure if this is the case with this one, but it would be wonderful to see it brought back to life before it is too late.
