Hello folks! I just wanted to give you guys a heads-up that your Patreon accounts will not be charged on September 5th. I wanted to push out a decent update by the end of this month, but some issues have popped up that make this unlikely. 

As some of you already know, I'm currently working a separate freelance job alongside my VN development these past few months. Now that I'm nearing the tail-end of this freelance project, what was originally supposed to be a 20-hour-a-week side job turned into a 40-hour-a-week ordeal and it has sapped up most of my VN dev time. Because of this, I probably won't be able to release the Repeat update on time, so I feel it's only fair that I halt monetization for this month. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you all for your patience!

That being said, I did sink a solid 66 hours into VN development this month before my freelance job decided to fist my schedule, so if any of you are feeling extra generous and want to donate despite the update not releasing, I'd appreciate it! (My Ko-Fi donation page is here)


Alrighty, let's do a quick progress report of what I've actually gotten done. Those of you who are in the Discord server already know most of this, but here's a recap for those who aren't on the server!


Artwork:

-Euca's student ID card has been redone so that I die inside slightly less when playing through the beginning of Repeat.

-The photo that Mrs. Corlisse hands you at the tail-end of Sissel's Route B was supposed to be illustrated but was cut from earlier builds due to time constraints. This has been drawn and retroactively added to the game.

-The art for Owen's blowjob scene towards the later part of his route has been overhauled, now with 100% more ass.


Writing/Coding Progress:


-Adjusted Repeat's dialogue box UI and placed the Nametag box in a separate window. The dialogue box is now more opaque for easier reading.

-Replaced the sound effect "slam.wav" and "bump.mp3" with new sound files that no longer blow out your eardrums. 

-Added new sound effect plop.mp3 that is much gentler and will now be mostly used for the small stings of character jumps instead of any of the harsher sounding ones. Granted, the harsh sounds will still be used when appropriate, but it's much less frequent.

-Combed through the story and made various adjustments to the dialogue, sound effects, added character themes to certain scenes, and more dynamic sprite usage and animations for the following days: Days 1 - 9, and also Sissel's Route Day 9-15, Sissel's Route B Days 9 - 11.

- The majority of grammar issues (especially verb-tense agreement) has been fixed for the days listed above.

Notable story changes:

- Adjusted Euca (the main character)'s dialogue to make his distress when left alone a little more obvious for plot reasons.

- Phillip no longer hugs you on Day 2 :3

- The Lorelei family is mentioned more frequently in the early parts of the game.

-Day 4 is guilty of a lot of issues from my older writing. I really don't like how it almost frames Phillip in the wrong for asking for space and setting boundaries when it came to Owen's sexual advances. Many of these scenes have been rewritten to fix these issues, along with adding character-building moments that bring up their respective backstories and explore how it affects their decision-making.

- On Day 6, I've completely rewritten Owen's scene at the food pantry in the community center. The previous iteration felt very cartoonish, with people hating on Owen with unrealistic and silly reactions. It basically felt like Owen had a kick-me sign but the scene took it 100% seriously. The new rewrite is a little more light-hearted, with Owen giving a little more family backstory. Also horny. There's room to add a public exhibitionist lewd scene there if I have the time ;;w;;

- Most of the Days received small dialogue changes here and there that don't feel like a lot, but eradicated a lot of the cringy feel of my early writing. Most of the scenes remain unchanged, but I've cut/rewritten most of the worst lines of dialogue so hopefully Repeat will feel a little more polished as a whole. I'm still working on proofreading the rest of Sissel's and Owen's routes and giving them more sprite animations/usage passes.

And that about sums up all my work for this month before my freelance job swooped in and stole away the rest of my schedule. When my contract ends at the end of September, I plan to jump back into VN development full-time and get things back up to speed. I'm sorry this year hasn't been the most productive, I've been struggling with balancing VN development with my professional life and it's been a bit of an uphill battle ;;w;;

I plan to release an update of Repeat with all the writing polished up for y'all maybe mid-September? It depends how much time I manage to squeeze between my freelance job hours. For now, Patreon patrons will not be charged for the month of September.
