I've been enjoying this and loved that, to a degree the twist in this episode is both shocking, and if you've been paying attention, foreshadowed a few times throughout whenever we know who is discussing this plan.

Yeah, the great thing about Sera's writing, is that she knows the extermination is terrible. It is objectively horrible, and she's aware of that. But, as is shown with her conversation with Adam, she agreed because she is paranoid. And in her paranoia, she convinced herself that it had to be done.

So my brain just had a thought. Sarah kept talking about things we don't know. And I had to rewatch episode 1 to kind of put this in my brain. But when Charlie talks about Angel's worshiping good and protecting from evil, I think that's not as ideological as it sounds. I think it might be more literal, especially considering that none of them know how a soul gets into heaven. I think it's quite possible that Good and evil are actually characters in this universe. And that somehow the existence of hell and quite possibly the exterminations are being used as a defense mechanism against this evil character. Or maybe I'm reading way too much into this Who knows.

It's an absolute theological bar to. One of the BIG objections theologically to the very concept of hell as portrayed by mainline Christianity is that the more you examine the concept, the more it breaks down especially in the face of what the ostensible goals of love and selflessness are.

I think Sera's argument here could be that Heaven and Hell are there for people on Earth to be judged and that if someone in Hell could be rehabilitated, that would make being good on Earth not as urgent. Insert that into a song, plz, lol.

Spoiler/ theories: Charlie deserves to be in heaven more then Adam. Wouldn't adam end up in hell bc he committed the original sin (eating the apple)? While charlie who was born from lilith and Lucifer would be free of the original sin? Lucifer was/ is an angel and lilith left eden before the original sin. So as long as Charlie has been a good bean she has a claim to heaven as atleast her part human (part angel- Nephilim) does. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. Hope my rambles made sense.

That makes sense, but I think Eve took the blame since she ate the apple before Adam. That might actually explain why we see Adam in heaven but not Eve.

You know Sera looks absolutely miserable through most of the song - she knows the exterminations are horrible but she's just so driven by fear of Hell Rising up against them that she thinks it's necessary (probably Adam pushing for it to begin with too). It's a nice touch- she's not evil for the sake of being evil but probably a genuinely good person who's just been twisted by fear. I can't wait for extermination day (although I'm not sure if this season will far into it) - and I really hope they show how dangerous Angels are to even strong Demons. The lore we've had released so far says that Angels inherently have power over Demons and we saw in Helluva Boss that a low level Demon armed with Divine/Blessed weapons can be a threat to even high-ranked demons (above Overlords). So I'm really hoping someone bigger than Alastor is needed to defend the hotel.

Between Carmilla calling the exorcist she killed "that thing" and Adam calling Vaggie one of his greatest creations makes me think that all the exorcists are artificially made hence why all their halos are black instead of golden. Also what if Carmilla is also a fallen angel/exorcist and is one of the only people able to make blessed weapons (as seen in Helluva Boss) for that very reason.

See this is what I like about you Alicia. You’re willing to look at things from all angles and not paint characters black or white. So many reactors just say “fuck sera” and assume she was threatening Em by bringing up Lucifer. Instead of being terrified that someone she views as a daughter could be damned and not being able to prevent it. They assume she’s lying and enjoys the exterminations instead of seeing her for the good person corrupted by fear that she is.
