Hey again. I hope you are well, especially during this time. I'm still feeling the burn, and the burnout from this holiday, but even then, there's a small moment of joy, and here it is; I received a nice set of art markers for Xmas this year; A set of 80, they're alcohol based, if I recall. like a really really cheap, COPIC - no way I can afford that lately. And for one night, I just spent it doing some drawings on my own.

Once upon a time, I used to make all of my line-art like this, using markers on paper, scanning and cleaning up the lines by hand again on a digital photo program, all to ready it for coloring on computer. That time was where I really wanted to refine my line-work, and brought the thick-line style I used to do back into my regular work now. That was well over 10-15 years ago.

I don't think I had done much of it since, and, truthfully, it was seeing a similar set of markers in a store for cheap that got me curious.

The real catalyst however, was, during a recent trip, using whiteboard and some markers to draw a lovely Marina (of Off The Hook fame) with whiteboard markers. It's probably gone now, but I'll try to recreate it from memory sometime.

Anyway... here's what I have now, all made in my art diary which finally got some use. I'm really rusty with my on-paper drawing, but I'd like to try more.

(Oh you might see some numbers on a couple of the pics, they're actually the marker numbers I used to color them! It's tricky to keep track of a bag of 80 colors, so I quickly write them down!)

What humble beginnings to where you are now, and a touching tale...~ (your description actually does inspire as much as your art, and I really love that). Also more Aqua and original characters, especially traditionally, is a definite treat.~

Markers are a pretty nice gift and wow, these turned out great! That Aqua you drew is really adorable.

Wow, it's eerily similar to how I would work on my own art, only swap markers out for primsacolored pencils. These look incredible still

Don't bring up markers near Rosie. She had a bad experience with markers recently. Still, even if they are a cheap set of markers, they do the job well I'd say. And it's definitely nice to see Zaf again.

It hurts how long it took me to get this joke.
