As someone that likes Omar a lot less than most people who watch this show, I loved the scene with Bunk and Omar. Omar's code has always rang a little false to me, you are openly contributing to the wanton violence and destruction in your community and regularly rob and kill people. FOH, lol. One of his first scenes is him holding a shotgun to a kid that looks about 14. Everything Bunk said was 100% correct.

32:53 The expression you're looking for is "a house of cards".

Too true, I feel like he’s the heart of the show across the whole series, rebelling against the system in his own unique way and staying true to himself even tho he’s an outsider I’m someone who loves Omar as a character and his role in the show but everything Bunk laid out was too true. Amazing scene

Halfway through already, yall have made quick work of this masterpiece! Don't know it's been mentioned already but you two should definitely watch (maybe in your personal viewing) We Own This City Produced by David Simon and it's more or less the spiritual sequel to The Wire in its themes, usage and focus on Baltimore, and the amount of Wire alumni in the cast--specifically Jamie Hector (Marlo) but also Poot, Herc, Landsman, and a vital S4 character among others). And to top it off Jon Bernthal gives one of the best performances of 2022 as the central figure in the real life case it covers It's only 6 episodes so it'd be quick but I don't think many people have watched it so idk. Regardless, highly recommend

I just finished listening to your review. I know it doesn't do good to dwell on negative things, but man oh man I'm sad to see that we're already past the halfway point of hearing your reviews of The Wire. This is such a joy to have twice a week, and I really will feel its absence once the series is concluded. The final few minutes, your discussion on bunk and omar... I can never get over just how articulate and sharp the two of you are with your analysis. Also I wanna say that I love seeing how passionate everyone else in the comments is about this series as much as I am. I don't get to comment long essays about the show as much as I want, but I also feel as though everyone has already said everything worth saying 😅 not that that's a bad thing. It feels very communal ❤️

Omar's Boyfriend was the one who shot Tosha during the shootout. If you watch the scene again, you'll see.
